I remember hopping off the vaporetto at Fondamenta Nuove, just a short wander away, with my bag bumping along those uneven stone paths. Honestly, the address – 3408 Calle Tintoretto – doesn’t scream “fancy hotel,” but that’s part of the charm; it’s in this quiet residential nook, close enough to the old Jewish Ghetto for a morning stroll to grab espresso at one of those unassuming cafés where locals chat over cornetti. No cars honking or tour groups blocking your way – well, except maybe the occasional delivery boat chugging by on the nearby canal, which adds this rhythmic hum to the air, sort of like Venice’s heartbeat.

Stepping inside, it hit me how aptly named it is – “cozy duplex” nails it, with that two-level setup feeling like your own little Venetian apartment rather than some sterile room. I mean, the place is rated a solid 9.4 for a reason; the wooden beams overhead and those soft, textured linens on the bed make it feel warm and inviting, especially after a day of traipsing around. My room had this cute balcony overlooking the calle – nothing grand like Grand Canal views, but you get glimpses of neighbors hanging laundry and the faint salty scent of the lagoon wafting up, which is way more authentic, if you ask me. Check-in was a breeze; the host met me right on time with a key and a quick rundown – no front desk fuss, just a friendly chat about where to find the best cicchetti nearby on Strada Nova. It’s got all the essentials: a mini-kitchenette for brewing your own coffee (a lifesaver in pricey Venice), reliable Wi-Fi that didn’t glitch out, and air conditioning that actually works during those humid summer nights. Oh, and a minor heads-up – the stairs to the upper level are steep, like in a lot of old buildings here, so if you’re hauling heavy luggage or have knee issues, pack light or ask for help. But noise-wise? Blissfully quiet after dark, except for the distant church bells tolling – I slept like a baby.

All in all, if you’re after real rest and relaxation in Venice without the chaos, this 4-star spot is a winner. It’s not flashy, but that’s what makes it special – you feel connected to the city, not isolated from it. I’d go back in a heartbeat, especially off-season when Cannaregio’s streets are even more serene, and you can wander to spots like the Madonna dell’Orto church (Tintoretto’s buried there, fun fact) without elbowing through crowds. Trust me, for around what you’d pay elsewhere, it’s the kind of place that leaves you refreshed, with stories to tell beyond the usual gondola rides.

  Location of the property is amazing. Within 20 minutes you can get to any of the major attractions, restaurants or nearby shops, and you are also a short walk away from the boat to take you to and from the airport. The apartment was super clean and well-equipped with everything you need for cooking and cleaning. The bed was comfortable and there is a good shower. It was a little cold in January, but the outdoor seating area looked lovely for summer.
  
  What could be improved: A very small piece of feedback, but a blanket downstairs for the sofa would've been a nice addition.

  This apartment is perfect!
  The location is great…very easy to reach by boat from the airport, and in a beautifully quiet part of Venice away from the tourist crowds.
  It is extremely stylish and very comfortable, and has everything you could possibly want…well equipped kitchen including a Nespresso coffee maker, and a Smart TV for cosy nights in.
  Communication was easy for check in, and the staff were very accommodating as I arrived earlier than the official check in time and it wasn’t a problem.
  I have stayed in several apartments in Venice and this is absolutely the best…I will definitely come back here!

  Fantastic location.. quiet area during the day but lots of bars, restaurants and coffee shops close by.
  Very comfy bed and pillows.
  Outside space was a bonus as the weather in November was pleasant.

  What could be improved: Squeaky stairs.. needs better handrail( having said that we are in our 70’s!)
  Shower cubicle small and the controls were tricky.. just catch the handle and the water turned scalding hot as no temperature regulator on it. Needs soap dish.
  Toilet seat broken.
  TV looked good but no English channels to speak of so disappointing for us.

  Great location, just off the main tourist streets and very quiet. Perfect for travelling to and from the airport, or a 15 mins walk from the train station. House is exactly as pictured, with all the facilities listed including hairdryer, washing machine, clothes horse and dishwasher. Bed is really comfy. Great place for a couple to stay.
  
  What could be improved: It was mentioned when we checked in but the toilet seat was broken and wasn't fixed. Also the shower was missing a handle when getting out, but nothing that would stop us from going back!

  The property had absolutely everything you could have asked for. It’s like a home away from home and all appliances are modern and works well. We had been travelling for about two weeks before we got there and did some laundry wow it was super easy and cooked a meal for the first time since being in Europe. The apartment is cozy, clean and well located to the water-bus but everything is a short walk away so really well located.
  
  What could be improved: There was nothing we didn’t like. Just note that in Venice all neighbouring windows face each other so privacy can be a bit of a problem. All of Venice is like that though.

  Perfect position to visit Venice without the noise of the most touristic alleys. Plenty of delicious restaurants and local bars in the neighbourhood. The apartment is clearly new and the open patio outside is a great plus for a drink al fresco!
