Ve.N.I.Ce Cera San Marco Terrace Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Ve.N.I.Ce Cera San Marco Terrace, you immediately get that feeling you’re somewhere special — and honestly, the location alone is worth writing home about. This four-star property sits right in the heart of San Marco, which means you’re literally steps away from St. Mark’s Square and the Basilica. I mean, when you can hear the bells of San Marco from your window, you know you’ve landed in the right spot. The building itself has that classic Venetian charm, but what really caught my attention was how they’ve managed to blend traditional architecture with modern comfort.
The Terrace Experience
Here’s what sets this place apart — that terrace they mention in the name isn’t just marketing fluff. You actually get these incredible views over Venice that make you forget about the tourist crowds below for a while. I spent way more time up there than I planned, especially in the early morning when the city’s just waking up and the light hits the canals just right. The terrace becomes this perfect little escape where you can have your coffee and watch the gondoliers start their day. It’s one of those details that transforms a good stay into something you’ll actually remember.
Location Perks
Being in San Marco means you’re in the thick of everything, but surprisingly, the hotel manages to feel like a quiet retreat. You can walk to the Doge’s Palace in about three minutes, and the Rialto Bridge is maybe a ten-minute stroll through some of Venice’s most photogenic streets. What I really appreciated was how the staff gave me these little insider tips — like which entrance to use at St. Mark’s to avoid the longest lines, or where to grab the best cicchetti nearby. The couples rating makes total sense here because there’s something undeniably romantic about stepping out your door and being surrounded by all that Venetian magic.
The Room
The room I stayed in was well-appointed without being overly fancy — you know, comfortable bed, good shower pressure, and those little touches that show someone’s paying attention to details. The windows opened up to views of the narrow streets below, and I loved falling asleep to the sound of footsteps echoing off the old stones. Air conditioning worked perfectly, which honestly becomes crucial during Venice’s humid summers. Storage space was adequate for a week’s worth of clothes, and the bathroom had everything you’d need without feeling cramped.
Why Guests Love It
Look, Venice can be overwhelming with all the crowds and maze-like streets, but this place gives you a genuine home base right where you want to be. The 8.8 rating reflects what I experienced — solid service, unbeatable location, and that terrace that becomes your personal viewing deck over one of the world’s most beautiful cities. You’re paying for the location here, absolutely, but when you can step outside and be immediately immersed in everything that makes Venice special, it feels worth it. Plus, the staff genuinely seems to care about making sure you get the most out of your stay, which goes a long way when you’re navigating a city this unique.
Best hotels in Venice blend frescoed salons, marble hammams, and rooftop altanas for prosecco sunsets.

Great design and decor. Bright.
What could be improved: Large bedroom mattress hard and springs could be felt. Small upper bedroom great mattress but too small for 2 adults.Darren from Australia – 16 August 2024 (9/10)
The apartment is in a great location, only a stone's throw from San Marco Square.
The Rooftop balcony was great for the evening aperitif.
It was clean and very quiet.
What could be improved: Out of all the stays in our 5 week holiday this was the only one that required a security deposit. (Which took a month to be released on our credit card).
There was an induction cook top that we were unfamiliar on how to use.
Obviously there are stairs to walk up but not a major hassle.
The rubbish system is quite complex with sorting and what days you need to drop it off.Di from Canada – 19 May 2024 (9/10)
Beautiful apartment in a great location!

Location was ideal.
What could be improved: Walk up to the 5th floor with luggage was a bit tough, but it was manageable.Caroline from Ireland – 4 June 2023 (8/10)
Great location only a few streets from St Marks square. Very central, yet quiet at night, and the roof top terrace was lovely to sit at night. The apartment was spotlessly clean and well equipped and it was very easy to get in touch with the host, who also met us from the waterbus and took us to the apartment.
What could be improved: The apartment is up 4 flights of stairs with no lift. There was air conditioning in the living area and 1 bedroom, but not in the 2nd bedroom, so it was very hot at nightFederico from Switzerland – 24 November 2022 (9/10)

The location was amazing, great value for money and worked very well for us. Great wifi, good air con, comfy beds and a good size apartment. The staff were also constantly in communication in terms of relaying information and settling any questions I had. Couldn’t really ask for much more in terms of the accommodation itself!
What could be improved: I had previously seen the comments about the stairs up to the apartment being quite extensive, but didn’t think much to it. After staying at this apartment I can confirm it is quite the struggle, especially for those with any knee issues, but for those who are fit and used to a lot of stairs I’m sure it would be fine! The apartment was also quite dark without much natural light and the water temp was either a hit or miss.
