The walk down Calle dei Scorzeri felt like slipping into a quieter, more lived-in side of the city; it’s this narrow little alleyway lined with those weathered brick walls that smell faintly of salt and old stone, especially after a light rain. Honestly, finding the place at 492h was a breeze – the host had messaged clear directions, and there I was, key in hand, no fuss with a front desk or anything. It’s not your typical hotel; it’s this charming 4-star apartment setup, sort of like staying in a local’s home but with all the polish you’d expect from that 9.7 rating. My first peek inside? Cozy as heck, with these wooden beams overhead that creak just a tad when the wind picks up – nothing annoying, mind you, just adds to the authentic vibe.

What really sold me, though, was that private garden – I mean, in Venice, where space is tighter than a gondola in high season, having your own patch of green is like striking gold. It’s tucked away out back, with these tangled vines and a few lemon trees that perfume the air in the evenings; I’d sit out there with a coffee, listening to the gentle lap of the Giudecca Canal against the fondamenta, maybe spotting a water taxi zipping by toward San Marco. The apartment itself is well-kitted out – think a full kitchen where I whipped up pasta from that little market on Fondamenta Sant’Eufemia (pro tip: grab some fresh burrata there, it’s divine), and a bedroom that catches the morning light just right. No parking worries, obviously, since cars are a no-go in Venice, but getting around is easy; the vaporetto stop is literally steps away, and it’s a peaceful ride to spots like the Peggy Guggenheim Collection or even over to Dorsoduro for aperitivo. Well, one minor gripe: the stairs up to the place can be a haul with luggage, especially if you’ve overpacked like I tend to – but hey, that’s old Venice for you, and the host offered to help if you ask ahead. Noise-wise, it’s blissfully quiet after dark, unlike the racket in San Polo during Carnevale; I visited in early fall, when the crowds thin out, and it felt like my own secret hideaway.

You should care about this spot if you’re after that real Venetian escape – not the postcard version, but the one where you wake up to church bells from the nearby Redentore and end the day with a spritz in the garden, watching the sunset paint the lagoon pink. It’s perfect for couples or small families who want space to breathe, and at that rating, it’s no surprise folks rave about it. I’d go back in a heartbeat, especially in shoulder season when the humidity drops and you can actually hear yourself think. Trust me, it’s the kind of place that lingers with you long after you’ve caught the train out of Santa Lucia station.

  The apartment was wonderful, clean annd comfortable, and we especially enjoyed the private garden. It was nice being in a quieter, more secluded area in the evenings. The host, Monica, was easy to contact and very helpful throughout our stay in providing answers to questions about restaurants, directions, and local amenities. I would definitely book here again the next time we return.

  Great location: calm and peaceful, with a great view of the lagoon towards Lido from 10m out the lovely small garden, while in a 5min walk you're at Palanca vaporetto station & have the whole city closeby. Also a fully equipped, modern kitchen, and a very nice apartment overall, with great eye for detail! Very friendly hosts as well!
  
  What could be improved: I visited end of August and there were quite some mosquitoes so sitting in the garden was only possible using anti- mosquito vape. Probably better in a different season.

  Die Gastgeber sind sehr herzlich, hilfsbereit, diskret und bei Bedarf jederzeit ansprechbar. Die Schlüsselübergabe ist persönlich bei einem herzlichen Empfang. Die Wohnung ist modern und zweckmäßig eingerichtet. Dusche und Toilette superclean. Im Kühlschrank zum Empfang Wein und auf dem Küchentisch eine Tüte Plätzchen. Die Lage fantastisch. Direkt am Wasser eine Reihe netter kleiner Restaurants, Cafés und Bars, weit weg vom Rummel. Der perfekte Rückzugsort zum Ausruhen direkt gegenüber dem trubeligen Zentrum um San Marco (…welches man in 10 min per Fähre erreichen kann).
  
  What could be improved: Mir fällt nichts ein, was man hier verbessern könnte. Hier passt einfach alles ! Was mir allerdings nicht gefallen hat ist, dass wir nach 4 Tagen leider wieder nachhause mussten 🙂

  Sehr schönes Appartement mit geschmackvoller Einrichtung und sehr guter Ausstattung. Ruhig gelegen in Guidecca und trotzdem zentral auf der Insel um schnell zum Supermarkt und Vaporetto sowie den guten Restaurants zu kommen. Absolut empfehlenswert. Sehr schöner kleiner Garten und direkt vor der Haustür Blick auf das Meer..

  Die Wohnung entsprach genau der Beschreibung und den Fotos. Sie war modern, in technisch hervorragendem Zustand und sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Sie zeichnete sich durch eine angenehme ruhige, aber dennoch sehr gut angebundene Lage auf der Insel Guidecca aus.
