Hotel Description
I remember stepping off the train at Santa Lucia station after a long ride from Milan, my backpack weighing me down, and thinking, thank goodness for places like Venice Lucky House that are literally a stone’s throw away – we’re talking Calle Priuli dei Cavaletti, right there in Cannaregio, tucked into this quiet little alley that feels worlds apart from the tourist chaos. Honestly, if you’re hauling luggage over those uneven bridges, this spot’s a lifesaver; it’s on the ground floor (piano terra, as they say here), so no wrestling with stairs like in some of those older palazzos. I arrived around dusk, and the check-in was a breeze – the owner, this friendly local guy named Marco, greeted me with a quick espresso and a map scribbled with his own tips, like where to grab the best cicchetti at that hole-in-the-wall spot on Strada Nova, just a five-minute stroll away. You know what, it’s not one of those massive hotels with a lobby full of tour groups; it’s more intimate, sort of like staying in a stylish apartment that someone actually lives in, with exposed brick walls that whisper stories from Venice’s heyday and these quirky lucky charms dotted around – fitting the name, I suppose. The rooms? Cozy, yeah, but in that charming Venetian way where space is at a premium; mine had a view of the canal (well, a sliver of it through the window), and the bed was plush enough to sink into after a day of wandering. Oh, and the bathroom – spotless, with those rain shower heads that make you forget you’re in a city built on water.
What really sets this place apart, though – and I mean this from someone who’s bounced around Venice a few times – is how it balances that old-world magic with stuff that actually makes travel easier. Cannaregio’s my favorite sestiere because it’s got that authentic vibe without the San Marco crowds; you’re steps from the Jewish Ghetto, where you can smell fresh bread baking in the mornings from kosher bakeries, or hop on a vaporetto at Ferrovia stop to zip over to Murano. But fair warning, during high season like Carnevale, the area near the station can get a bit noisy with all the comings and goings – think suitcase wheels clacking on cobblestones at odd hours – though inside, it’s surprisingly peaceful, maybe thanks to the thick walls. I appreciated the little kitchenette in my room; nothing fancy, but perfect for brewing your own coffee or storing those market finds from Rialto, which is about a 15-minute walk if you take the scenic route along Rio di San Felice. No parking headaches here, obviously – Venice being car-free and all – but if you’re coming by water taxi, it’s an easy drop-off. And the Wi-Fi? Solid, which is a godsend for planning your next gelato stop or checking ferry times.
Look, if you’re after a spot that feels like a lucky find in a city that can overwhelm you with its beauty and bustle, Venice Lucky House nails it. It’s got that 4-star polish without feeling stuffy, and with a 9.1 rating, it’s clear others agree – I chatted with a couple from Australia at breakfast who were raving about how it let them dive into real Venice life, away from the souvenir shops. Sure, rooms might feel snug if you’re used to sprawling suites, but that’s part of the charm; it forces you out to explore. I’d go back in a heartbeat, especially in shoulder season when the canals are quieter and you can hear the gentle lap of water at night. If Venice is on your list, this is the kind of place that turns a trip into a story you’ll tell friends over wine.

Nice and service minded host.Close to the station and to the town with ferry connections. Fantastic town and a great experience. Best in the evenings where many day tourists had left.
What could be improved: Quite a lot of hungry moscquitos due to a small canal very close by. Bring some repellent to protect againt them.would be nice with some insect lamps in the flat to catch them. Were not prepared for the tide water in the streets but found out to buy special plastic boots in the local shops or from street sellers for 5 to 8 euroEric from United States – 12 September 2024 (9/10)

What could be improved: I liked everything.Celia from United States – 20 May 2024 (9/10)
The property was well located and equipped with everything we needed. We particularly liked the outdoor area.
What could be improved: The only problem we had was there was no electrical outlet near the main bed and as my husband needs to use a CPAP machine he had to sleep on the sofabed but I got the big bed all to myself so i didnt mind at all. Not a problem but anyone renting might need to know.Roland from Estonia – 13 April 2024 (9/10)
Very good location from the train station and bus stop so you don't have to go far with your luggage.
All that was needed to spend the week in the apartment was there, including kitchen equipment.
What could be improved: If you are taller than 185 cm, then the bed might be to short. But as Venice is quite warm, keeping your feet cool might be a good thing.Anne from Australia – 29 April 2024 (6/10)
Great shower, good kitchen , large space
What could be improved: Uncomfortable sofa bed with a mattress that sagged in the middle of the bed resulting in a poor sleep .Matteo from Denmark – 5 October 2024 (8/10)
Posizione, struttura moderna.
What could be improved: Non c’erano tovaglioli e canovacci in cucina. Non c’erano asciugamani di ricambio nè set lenzuola di ricambio. Poco shampoo x la durata del soggiorno. Non ci è stato offerto un servizio di pulizia durante tutto il soggiorno.Jean from France – 28 September 2024 (9/10)
What could be improved: Vše o.k.Robert from Romania – 16 October 2024 (8/10)
Aproape de centru. Spațios Apartamentul.
What could be improved: Gălăgia, de la vecini si frigiderul foarte zgomotos, dacă nu l oprești nu poți dormi deloc.
