AC Hotel Venezia by Marriott Overview
First Impressions
Walking into AC Hotel Venezia by Marriott, you immediately notice how they’ve managed to blend contemporary design with Venice’s historic character — and honestly, that’s not easy to pull off in a city where every building has centuries of stories. The lobby feels refreshingly modern without being sterile, which is exactly what you want after navigating those narrow Venetian streets with your luggage. It’s a three-star property that punches above its weight, especially considering the prime location they’ve secured in the Santa Croce district.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what I love about the positioning — you’re on Rio Tera Sant’Andrea, which means you’re close enough to the main attractions but far enough from the absolute chaos of San Marco. The Rialto Bridge is actually walkable (everything’s walkable in Venice, but this is pleasantly walkable), and you can reach the train station without getting completely lost in the maze of canals. What couples particularly appreciate, and I can see why the ratings reflect this, is that you’re in a quieter pocket of the city where you can actually have a conversation while strolling in the evening.
The Room Experience
The rooms embrace that clean, minimalist AC Hotels aesthetic — think sleek lines, neutral tones, and everything you need without unnecessary frills. The beds are genuinely comfortable, which matters more than you’d think after days of walking on stone streets and climbing countless bridge steps. You know what’s smart? They’ve included USB ports and proper lighting for actually reading or working, small touches that show they understand modern travelers. The bathrooms are compact but well-designed, making efficient use of space in a way that feels intentional rather than cramped.
Practical Comforts
The breakfast setup is solid — not elaborate, but it covers what you need to fuel up for a day of exploring Venice. I mean, you’re probably going to want to experience Venetian cafes anyway, but it’s nice having a reliable option right there. The staff genuinely seems to know the area well, offering directions and recommendations that go beyond the obvious tourist spots. Air conditioning works properly (crucial during Venice’s humid summers), and the Wi-Fi is dependable enough for staying connected or planning your next day’s adventures.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is how it solves the Venice accommodation puzzle — finding somewhere that’s well-located, reasonably priced, and doesn’t feel like you’re staying in a museum or a hostel. The 8.5 rating makes sense when you consider that guests are getting contemporary comfort in a city where many hotels are either overpriced palazzos or budget places that cut too many corners. Couples especially seem to appreciate having a calm, stylish base where they can recharge between exploring sessions, and honestly, that’s exactly what Venice demands from your accommodation.

Reviews of AC Hotel Venezia by Marriott
Cheryl from United States – 14 November 2024 (8/10)
The location is ideal being at the beginning of Venice with only a 15 min drive from the Marco Polo Airport. The hotel is located a short walk, maybe a block or 2 to water taxis on the Grand Canal, & the tram. We found great restaurants nearby. Walking from our hotel to St. Marks Square was very doable even for us seniors. The hotel is also walking distance to the Jewish Getto and many other sites.

The property is located right next to the people mover & is very nice, clean & comfortable. Employees are very nice & accommodating. Nice bar with good appetizers & nice continental breakfast. It’s great because you don’t have to drag your bags over the bridges in Venice but you are right there!

Everything was good and clean overall and we had a comfortable stay. Location was very close to a parking garage so was convenient for luggage
What could be improved: Location was away from the city center. Not much of a room view.Silvia from Australia – 6 June 2024 (9/10)
Location was perfect as we required access to car services

Sutinder from Hong Kong – 14 February 2024 (9/10)
Located next to the train station, the property is neat and clean and value for money. The room size is modest but well appointed.
Paco from Qatar – 16 November 2023 (7/10)
it’s very convenient, just across the bus station
What could be improved: breakfast selection is very smallGloria from Canada – 15 October 2023 (7/10)
Great location for bus from the airport and vaporetto stop. Quiet in rooms a bonus.
What could be improved: Expensive. Cost for 3 nights was equivalent to 6 nights in Florence.Fuchao from United States – 13 July 2022 (9/10)
It's located at the "entrance" of Venice so you don't have to carry things around. Next to ferry and bus station. The room is not that big but you get enough space. Staffs are vert helpful. Nice and clean overall.
