Acca Hotel Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Acca Hotel feels like discovering a well-kept secret tucked away in San Polo — and honestly, that’s exactly what it is. This three-star gem sits on a quiet calle that most tourists rush past on their way to the Rialto Bridge, which means you get all the benefits of being in the heart of Venice without the constant foot traffic outside your window. The entrance is understated in that perfectly Venetian way, where the real magic happens once you step inside.

Location That Actually Makes Sense

You know what I love about this spot? It’s positioned right where locals actually live and work in San Polo, not in some touristy bubble. You’re literally a three-minute walk from the Rialto Market — I mean the real market where Venetians buy their fish and vegetables, not just the souvenir stalls. The Frari church is around the corner, and you can reach St. Mark’s Square in about ten minutes on foot, but you’re far enough away that you won’t hear the crowds at night. Couples especially seem to get this location (they rate it 9.4, which honestly makes perfect sense when you experience it yourself).

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was compact but thoughtfully designed — typical for Venice, but done right. What struck me was how they managed to fit everything you need without making it feel cramped. The bed was actually comfortable (not always a given in historic Venetian buildings), and the bathroom, while small, had good water pressure. The windows open onto the calle, and there’s something oddly soothing about hearing the occasional footsteps and quiet conversations of people heading home from dinner.

Morning Fuel

Breakfast here is a proper continental spread with buffet options — nothing fancy, but everything you need to start exploring the city. The coffee is strong (thank goodness), and they have fresh pastries that taste like they came from the bakery down the street. I actually preferred eating here to hunting for breakfast in the touristy areas where you’ll pay twice as much for half the quality. The breakfast area has this cozy, almost family-like atmosphere where you might end up chatting with other guests about their Venice discoveries.

Why Guests Love It

Here’s the thing about Acca Hotel — it delivers exactly what you want from a Venice stay without any pretense. You’re staying in a real neighborhood where you can grab groceries, find a decent restaurant that locals frequent, and still be steps away from major sights. The 9.4 rating isn’t an accident; it’s what happens when a hotel focuses on location, comfort, and genuine hospitality rather than trying to be something it’s not. For the price point, you’re getting authentic Venice access with modern comfort, and honestly, that’s a pretty sweet deal in a city where location is everything.

Cristina was most welcoming and helpful. I arrived mid morning. Cristina took care of my luggage while I roamed around. Upon my return my luggage was already in my room. Clean, cozy space, very comfy beds with Frette sheets. Good breakfast.

What could be improved: Exceptional value.

  • Yannis from France – 28 December 2024 (9/10)

Amazing staff. All were very nice. A pleasure to talk to them.
    Breakfast was largely sufficient.
The room was large and always very clean and smelling good.
Bathroom was new. WiFi worked well.
I had a great time in Venice and was also happy each time I went back to my room.

What could be improved: Just a little light on the fire alarm on the ceiling which was blinking in the night. But that was alright.

  • Douglas from Brazil – 25 June 2024 (10/10)

Definitely a little gem in Venice. Staff was super kind, including an employee (which unfortunately I don't remember the name) who made sure to speak Portuguese when she noticed we were from Brazil. The room, despite being small, was comfortable and clean. The breakfast did not provide a lot of options but everything was fresh and tasteful. Location was also very nice, very close to city center. Overall an amazing experience and I would recommend this hotel to others without a doubt.

What could be improved: The price is a little bit high compared to the rest of Italy but it was the best cost vs benefit we've found in Venice.
