Appartamenti Cà d’Oro Overview
First Impressions
Walking through the narrow streets of Cannaregio to reach Appartamenti Cà d’Oro, you’ll quickly realize why this three-star property has such devoted fans. The building sits right in one of Venice’s most authentic neighborhoods — honestly, it’s the kind of spot where you’ll hear more Italian than English echoing off the canal walls. I mean, when couples rate the location 9.2 out of 10, you know there’s something special going on here. The property offers exceptional value and comfort in this historic district.
The Neighborhood Magic
What really struck me about staying here is how you’re positioned perfectly between the tourist chaos and real Venetian life. The famous Cà d’Oro palace (where the property gets its name) is practically next door, but you’re also walking distance from those little bacari where locals actually grab their evening spritz. You can stumble back from dinner in San Marco without dealing with the vaporetto crowds — it’s maybe a 10-minute walk through some of the most photogenic streets in the city. The neighborhood truly captures the essence of authentic Venice, providing guests with an immersive cultural experience.
The Apartment Experience
These aren’t your typical hotel rooms — each apartment feels more like borrowing a friend’s place in Venice. The spaces have that lived-in charm with original Venetian details, offering character and space to actually unpack your suitcase. The kitchen setup is basic but functional — perfect for making morning coffee or storing those pastries you’ll inevitably buy from the bakery around the corner. You’ll find the accommodations comfortable and well-suited for longer stays, with thoughtful amenities throughout.
Daily Life Here
Mornings are particularly lovely because you’re staying where Venetians actually live and work. There’s a small restaurant nearby that serves proper Venetian breakfast (none of that continental hotel stuff), and the local market stalls start setting up early if you’re into that sort of authentic experience. The staff at Cà d’Oro keeps things simple — they’re helpful when you need them but won’t hover around trying to upsell you on tours or dinner reservations. This approach creates a genuinely local atmosphere that guests consistently appreciate.
Why Guests Love It
What this property does offer is an honest Venice experience in a neighborhood that still feels real. The location score of 9.3 isn’t just marketing fluff — you’re genuinely well-positioned for everything, whether that’s early morning walks along the Fondamenta or late-night gelato runs. Plus, there’s something satisfying about having your own key to a Venetian apartment rather than just another hotel room. The fact that couples keep coming back here tells you everything you need to know about whether this place delivers on its promise of authentic Venetian living. Guests consistently praise the genuine local experience and welcoming atmosphere throughout their stay.

Reviews of Appartamenti Cà d’Oro
Mircea from Romania – 4 February 2025 (9/10)
Appartment was very clean, well positioned. We received also all the information related to the appartment and also recommendations where to eat in town.
What could be improved: There were problems with the electrical outlets near the bed. They were not working. This should be fixed as i also informed them.Beth from United Kingdom – 1 September 2024 (8/10)
Had everything we needed. Was comfortable, easy to find following directions though expensive on the boat for 3 stops – no fault of the property owners just Venice public transport is expensive.
Good area for getting around by foot, advisable to take a torch for evenings as some narrow streets very dark.
What could be improved: Nothing really.Rena100 from United Kingdom – 24 July 2024 (8/10)
Location was very central, easy to get to, room was clean and comfortable

Very clean!! Clean bed and sheets. The only main issue is that the light above the sink in the bathroom was broken so poor light to put my makeup on but everything else was perfect! Clean and nice shower!
What could be improved: Well, get ready to have your daily steps! 🙂 Not a problem for me but the 3rd floor without lift is a bit hard if you don’t have the habit to walk.Ariadna from United States – 2 July 2024 (9/10)
We loved this place. It was cozy and had everything we needed. It was spacious enough for our family of 3 and the kitchen was well equipped. The check in process was easy/smooth too as we were given a code to get into the building, so we didn’t have to meet up with someone and coordinate a time. The location was also great as it was near an area with lots of restaurants
What could be improved: We were out of luck and got the unit on the third floor so carrying our suitcases up the stairs was hard, but again that’s not something the owner can control so it’s totally okOlenka from Germany – 2 June 2024 (9/10)
The location was perfect! There was everything nearby: ferry stop, supermarket, restaurants and souvenir shops. Apart from that, the main touristic attractions can be reached in a few minutes walking. Martha was always very responsive and caring to our questions. She gave us very precise instructions to reach the accomodation, and she also instructed us on how to deal with the new city tax system in Venice. The bedroom, kitchen and bathroom were spacious and comfortable.

It was spacious, very clean, has everything you need.
Great location.
What could be improved: A bit noisy, you can hear your neighbours very wellGatherall from Canada – 25 April 2024 (8/10)
Location was ideal. We loved being able to leave our luggage. Great suggestions for eating out. Thanks so much.

Great location next to one of the main streets of the Cannaregio district, Strada Nova. The facilities were in good condition overall, and the insecticide was especially appreciated as it is necessary to control the mosquito situation.
What could be improved: There are three aspects that I think could be improved to some degree: (1) Information about the specific apartment/floor that corresponds to the respective booking. This information was necessary for us to complete the self check-in process, but it took us more time than usual to track the source of it (it was not in the Booking receipt), which I finally found in the room details section of mi Booking mobile app. This resulted in an unwanted delay of our self check-in process. (2) Information about mosquitoes and recommended control measures. We didn't notice that the host had provided an electric insecticide device until our second night in the apartment, despite this being a rather relevant aspect given the environmental conditions of the place. (3) Climate control. The remote control for our apartment's air conditioning device was not provided in arrival, and the heating coming from the radiators was a bit excessive, so we didn't have an optimal experience on this regard (although we omitted asking the host for a solution to this).Ada from Canada – 8 October 2023 (9/10)
Very clean unit. Centrally located. Excellent A/C – we were there on an extremely hot week.
What could be improved: We had trouble doing the online check-in and didn’t receive instructions on how to get to the unit. GPS location doesn’t work well in Venice.
