Ai Cordami Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Ai Cordami feels like discovering a secret that locals have been keeping to themselves. This three-star gem sits tucked away on Giudecca island, and honestly, the moment you step through the door, you realize you’ve found something special. The property occupies a beautifully restored building on Corte Cordami, and there’s this immediate sense of calm that washes over you — probably because you’ve just escaped the tourist crowds of central Venice without actually leaving the city.
The Giudecca Advantage
Here’s what I love about staying on Giudecca — you get authentic Venetian neighborhood vibes while still being ridiculously close to everything that matters. The vaporetto ride to San Marco takes maybe ten minutes, but you know what? Half the time I found myself just wandering the quiet fondamenta here instead. There’s something magical about watching the sunrise over the lagoon from this side of the water, and the evening light hitting the Doge’s Palace across the canal is absolutely stunning. Couples seem to get this — they consistently rate the location a 9.8, and I totally understand why.
Your Home Base
The room I stayed in was thoughtfully designed with that perfect balance of Venetian character and modern comfort. You’ll find original architectural details — exposed beams, terrazzo floors — but everything feels fresh and well-maintained. The beds are genuinely comfortable (not always a given in historic Venice properties), and the bathrooms are compact but cleverly designed. What really impressed me was the attention to detail in the furnishings and the quality of linens, which honestly rivals what you’d find at much pricier places.
The Daily Rhythm
Mornings here have this lovely, unhurried quality. The breakfast setup is simple but satisfying — fresh pastries, good coffee, and you can actually sit and enjoy it without feeling rushed. I mean, this isn’t a massive hotel operation, so everything feels more personal and relaxed. The staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay comfortable, and they’re incredibly helpful with local recommendations. They pointed me toward this fantastic little bacaro just a few bridges away that I never would have found otherwise.
Why Guests Love It
Look, Venice can be overwhelming, and sometimes you need a place that feels like a real retreat. Ai Cordami delivers that in spades — it’s intimate without being cramped, authentic without being uncomfortable, and perfectly positioned without being touristy. The 9.8 rating isn’t just about the numbers; it reflects how this place makes you feel like you’re experiencing Venice the way it’s meant to be experienced. You’re close enough to dive into the action whenever you want, but far enough away to actually breathe and appreciate where you are. For the price point, honestly, it’s pretty hard to beat.

Reviews of Ai Cordami
Valeriia from Denmark – 2 October 2024 (10/10)
Everything was great. Starting with a very clear host instructions how to get there, location itself (right near the waterfront and bus stop to the main island), very clear and well equipped apartment with extremely comfortable bed. It is also a very quiet area. And grocery shop around the corner.

Very clean, great location near the ferry, quiet and friendly neighbourhood.
Gemma from Australia – 15 August 2024 (10/10)
Gabriella was very helpful and even guided us on what transportation/tickets to buy. The property was clean and has all the facilities we need. Aircon in the bedroom was very much appreciated! It is close to everything – grocery shop, restaurants, ferry stops. Thank you Gabriella for letting us into your property.
What could be improved: The step from the shower to the bathroom floor wasn't obviously seen and my husband with low vision had a very bad fall from it.Iliyan from Bulgaria – 8 July 2024 (10/10)
Excellent location, very close to the vaporetto station, nice old building. The apartment was a really good choice, with all you need, very cozy and the most significant – absolutely clean. I really can recommend the property.

Love the villa. It was very clean. And kitchen was fully equipped and clean. Neat, clean and big bathroom. Love the bedroom it was very big. Loved the living room. This villa is in central location. Nearby many restaurants, fish shop, bakeries and store. Hotel owner was very nice and friendly. She guided us about venice very well. She also gave us complimentary biscuits which were delicious. I will definitely recommend this hotel

Great location (it's close to everything we need – the ferry port, grocery, eateries) and Gabriella welcomed us personally, it made us felt like we were going home. The house is clean and homely.

Good location only a 5 min boat ride away from the busy center.
Laura from Netherlands – 25 February 2024 (10/10)
Gabriella was wonderful, the location great and the apartment had everything. So clean! Great bedroom
What could be improved: There was a little bit of noise coming from the outside in the evening by the bedroom, but that is obviously nothing to do with the fantastic host!Kelvin from United Kingdom – 6 September 2023 (10/10)
Location was perfect away from the busy centre.
