Ambassador Tre Rose Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Ambassador Tre Rose feels a bit like discovering a well-kept secret tucked away in the maze of Venice. You check in at San Marco 877, then make your way to the actual hotel at Piazza San Marco 905 — honestly, this little walk gives you a perfect preview of what staying right in the heart of Venice is all about. The three-star property doesn’t try to be something it’s not, but what it does offer is that unbeatable location that makes you feel like a temporary Venetian rather than just another tourist.

The Location Magic

I mean, you’re literally steps from St. Mark’s Square — and I’m talking actual steps, not the “short walk” that hotels sometimes claim. The location score of 9.6 isn’t just a number; it’s the reality of stepping out your door and being surrounded by centuries of history. Couples especially seem to get this (they rate the location 9.4), probably because there’s something undeniably romantic about having Venice’s most iconic piazza as your neighborhood. You know what’s great? You can actually escape the daytime crowds by ducking back to your hotel, then emerge again when the evening light hits those Byzantine domes just right.

The Room Experience

The room here are what you’d expect from a solid three-star in Venice — they’re not huge (honestly, what is in this city?), but they’re comfortable and clean. What matters more is that when you open your window, you’re not looking at some random alley or construction site. The room I stayed in had that particular Venetian charm where everything feels slightly worn in the best possible way, like it has stories to tell. The beds are decent, and the bathrooms work well — sometimes that’s all you need when you’re spending most of your time exploring the city anyway.

Breakfast Worth Mentioning

The breakfast spread actually surprised me in a good way. They’ve got this buffet setup that covers pretty much every dietary need you can think of — continental, Italian, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, even American options. I appreciated that they didn’t just phone it in with stale pastries and instant coffee. The Italian options are obviously the stars here, and there’s something satisfying about starting your day with proper Italian coffee before heading out to tackle the tourist sites. It’s served in a cozy space that feels more intimate than your typical hotel breakfast room.

Why Guests Love It

Look, Ambassador Tre Rose isn’t going to win any awards for cutting-edge design or spa facilities, but it nails what most people actually want from a Venice hotel. You’re paying for location, location, location — and in this case, you’re getting exactly that. The 7.9 rating reflects guests who understand they’re trading some amenities for the privilege of being in the absolute center of everything. When you can stumble back to your hotel after dinner in St. Mark’s Square in under two minutes, or grab a morning coffee and be at the Doge’s Palace before the crowds arrive, you start to realize what really matters in Venice.

Reviews of Ambassador Tre Rose

  • Joey from Singapore – 17 October 2024 (9/10)

We stayed here for 2 nights and it was the best location – 2mins from san marco square and 5mins from rialto bridge! Along the street were so many good restaurants and it is a straight path leading to rialto bridge. It was near everything….st mark's basilica, doge's palace, our gondola meeting point, florian cafe in the square.

On our last day to marco polo airport, we just went to the alilaguna ticket office next to san marco square and boarded the water boat to airport easily.

I must say a special thanks to the young guy at the reception – he was so nice and helpful telling me the best way to get to the airport, printed out maps and boat schedules for me, really sweet n great service! I would definitely stay at the same hotel next time i am in venice!

  • Karen from Ireland – 24 April 2024 (7/10)

Although I know it’s not to everyone’s taste, I loved the decor – I loved how old school it was, that you still put the key behind the desk when you leave for the day! Plus, that it was literally around the corner from San Marco Square means you are literally steps from historic buildings and beautiful views, plus the water bus terminals are 5 mins away for day trips

What could be improved: A minor thing but no little kettle in our room – since our stay was wet and windy, it would have been amazing to make a cup of tea after our day out to warm us back up

  • Anton from Austria – 3 February 2024 (8/10)
