Appartamenti Superior in Via Garibaldi by Bricola Apartments Overview
First Impressions
Walking down Via Garibaldi to find Appartamenti Superior in Via Garibaldi by Bricola Apartments feels like discovering a local secret in Venice. This three-star property sits in what’s honestly one of the best neighborhoods in the city — and I mean that. The Castello district here is where actual Venetians live and work, so you’re getting the real deal instead of just tourist central. The building itself has that understated Venetian charm, nothing flashy, but you can tell it’s been thoughtfully maintained.
The Neighborhood Advantage
Here’s what I love about this location — Via Garibaldi is this wide, tree-lined street that’s actually unusual for Venice (most streets are, well, tiny). You’ve got the Giardini della Biennale just a few minutes away, which means green space and fresh air when you need a break from all the stone and water. The couples who stay here really get it — there’s something romantic about being in a residential area where you can grab morning coffee at a local bar without fighting through cruise ship crowds. Plus, you’re still only about a 15-minute walk to San Marco, so it’s not like you’re stranded.
The Apartment Experience
Each apartment here feels more like staying in someone’s well-appointed Venice home than a typical hotel room. The Superior units live up to their name — I’m talking proper space to spread out, which is honestly rare in Venice where most accommodations feel like elegant closets. The kitchen setup is actually functional, not just decorative, so you can store those amazing cheeses and wines you’ll inevitably buy at the Rialto market. The furnishings strike that sweet spot between traditional Venetian style and modern comfort — think exposed beams but also decent Wi-Fi and air conditioning.
Daily Life and Practicalities
What really works about staying here is how it changes your Venice rhythm. Instead of rushing back to some hotel near the train station, you find yourself taking evening walks along the waterfront promenade that stretches toward Sant’Elena. There’s a good restaurant scene in the neighborhood too — places where locals actually eat, not just tourist traps with laminated menus in five languages. The morning routine becomes grabbing pastries from the bakery down the street, and honestly, that feels more authentic than any hotel breakfast buffet. Parking isn’t really relevant here since you’re in Venice, but the water bus connections are solid.
Why Guests Love It
The location score of 9.1 makes total sense once you’ve stayed here — it’s that perfect balance of being in Venice but not overwhelmed by it. Couples especially seem to appreciate having a proper base where they can cook dinner together or just sit with a glass of wine without feeling like they’re on display for tourists. You know what surprised me? How quiet it gets in the evenings, even though you’re still very much in the city. The value proposition is solid too — you’re getting apartment-style space and amenities at a reasonable price point, in what’s genuinely one of Venice’s most livable neighborhoods.

Location was the best part. Close to all beinnale venues. The Majer just below perfect for breakfast and so many restaurants close by to eat.
What could be improved: Little dark as its in the alley.Marta from Poland – 26 October 2024 (3/10)
Gdyby nie grzyb na suficie i zapach pleśni w sypialni to mieszkanie byłoby okej, w świetnej lokalizacji dla Bienalle.
What could be improved: In the apartment, there is mold on the ceiling in the bedroom, there is a smell of mold. It is impossible to sleep in the bedroom. We moved to the living room, to the sofa bed. The apartment should not be rented until this problem is solved. This problem concerns the Pedrocchi 2 apartment (with the brown kitchen in the photos).
I know that the apartment is one of the cheaper ones in Venice and I generally apply the principle of you get what you are paying for and I did not expect luxury but a basic place to sleep with a kitchen. Unfortunately, this problem disqualifies this place.Ruth from United Kingdom – 15 May 2024 (7/10)
The location was perfect . The staff where helpful. The property very clean and the the kitchen had all equipment required.
What could be improved: The overall feel was a bit bleak, not at all like the nicer flats shown in the photos. The apartment was naturally very dark. A lot of the lighting didn’t work and those that did where very harsh.Catherine from Ireland – 3 May 2024 (8/10)
Location is excellent for the Biennale and restaurants and bars on via Garibaldi

Staff were excellent, Chiara is a gorgeous Italian girl who was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful. She was a real asset to the company. The location was great, with only a few minutes walk to St Mark's Plaza, excellent restaurants nearby, as well as two waterbus stations within a couple of minutes. The classical Venetian shutters in the window were lovely. There are nearby parks for walks/runs
What could be improved: The apartment is furnished in a classic Venetian style but was lovely but a bit dated. Everything was functional and fine but the walls were paper thin so you could hear people having conversations next door and upstairs. The bed was comfortable but the sheets were quite light, and the shower has good heating but the water pressure is weak and the faucet holder was broken so you had to hold it yourselfEliska from Czech Republic – 17 September 2022 (8/10)
Great area full of locals. The city-boat to the beach is nearby. It is also located very near to Bienale Arsenale and Giardini.
Very clean, very friendly and helpfull hosts. Basic stuff for cooking and washing available. Great also if you want to experience local life (entrance is from the small street, not much daylight inside).
What could be improved: It is true that you can hear a lot from what is going on around the aparment and there is not much daylight inside.Alexandre from Italy – 14 August 2022 (8/10)
