B&B San Firmino Canal View Overview
First Impressions
Walking into B&B San Firmino Canal View, you immediately get that feeling you’re staying somewhere genuinely Venetian rather than just another tourist trap. The building sits right on Campo Santa Maria Formosa in the Castello district, and honestly, the location couldn’t be better — you’re literally in the heart of Venice but on one of those charming squares that still feels like a neighborhood. It’s a three-star place, which means you’re getting solid comfort without the fancy frills, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want when you’d rather spend your money on good dinners and museum tickets.
The Perfect Venice Location
What I love about this spot is how it puts you right in the thick of things without feeling overwhelming. Campo Santa Maria Formosa is one of Venice’s larger squares — you know, the kind where locals actually hang out and kids play football in the evenings. You’ve got the beautiful Santa Maria Formosa church right there, plus you’re just a few minutes’ walk from St. Mark’s Square when you want the full tourist experience. The couples who stay here absolutely rave about the location (they rate it 9.7 out of 10), and I get why — there’s something romantic about having your own little Venetian square to come home to each night.
Your Room and Views
The room I stayed in was exactly what you’d expect from a well-run B&B — clean, comfortable, and decorated with that understated Italian style that doesn’t try too hard. The real star, though, is right there in the name: those canal views. Not every room has them, but if you can snag one that does, you’ll find yourself just sitting by the window watching the gondolas drift by. The rooms aren’t huge — this is Venice, after all, where space is at a premium — but they’re thoughtfully laid out and you’ve got everything you need for a few days of exploring.
Morning Fuel
Breakfast here keeps things authentically Italian, which means you’re looking at excellent coffee, fresh pastries, and maybe some local specialties depending on what they’re featuring that day. It’s not a massive buffet spread, but honestly, that’s part of the charm — you get quality over quantity, and the staff actually knows what they’re serving you. I mean, you’re in Italy, so starting your day with a proper cappuccino and cornetto is really all you need before heading out to explore the city.
Why Guests Love It
The thing about B&B San Firmino Canal View is that it gets the balance right — you’re staying somewhere that feels authentically Venetian without sacrificing comfort or location. That 8.7 rating reflects what most guests discover: this isn’t trying to be the fanciest place in Venice, but it delivers exactly what it promises. You’re a short walk from major sights, you’re on a beautiful square that gives you a taste of local life, and you’re getting genuine Italian hospitality. For couples especially, there’s something special about having your own little corner of Venice to retreat to after long days of wandering the canals and getting wonderfully lost in the city’s maze of streets.

The location is perfect – very close to historical places, lots of shops and restaurants. Our suite was very large, clean and comfortable. Lorenzo took care of us the whole time – from the beginning to the end. When I come to Venice again, I already know where I will stay. This will definitely be my favorite place in Venice!

We had a fantastic stay at B&B San Firmino Canal View in Venice. Lorenzo is a wonderful host – welcoming, attentive, and always available with great recommendations. The rooms are beautifully decorated with authentic Venetian charm, and the canal view is truly stunning. The location is ideal – close to the main sights but tucked away from the crowds. It felt more like staying in a home than a hotel. Highly recommend!

A very warm welcome. The historic building is gorgeous, and the decor is authentic and characterful. The location is brilliant for both Piazza San Marco and Ponte di Realto. I had a room overlooking the canal, and two really good sleeps.
