appartamento Casanova Overview
First Impressions
Walking through the narrow stone passages of Castello to reach appartamento Casanova feels like you’re following a treasure map — and honestly, that’s exactly what you’re doing. This three-star gem sits right in the heart of Venice, tucked away on a quiet street that most tourists never discover. I mean, when couples are rating the location 9.8 out of 10, you know you’ve stumbled onto something special. The building itself has that weathered Venetian charm you can’t fake, with those classic shuttered windows that make you feel like you’re living in a postcard.
Location Magic
You know what’s brilliant about this spot? You’re actually in the real Venice — not the tourist Venice. The apartment sits in Castello, which locals will tell you is where Venetians actually live and work. From here, you can walk to St. Mark’s Square in about eight minutes (I timed it), but you’re far enough away that you won’t hear the crowds at night. The nearest vaporetto stop is practically around the corner, and there’s this fantastic little bakery two streets over that opens at 6 AM — perfect for grabbing fresh cornetti before the city wakes up.
The Space Itself
The room has this wonderful lived-in feeling that makes you want to settle in for weeks rather than days. It’s not huge — this is Venice, after all — but everything’s been thoughtfully arranged to maximize the space. The kitchen area is surprisingly well-equipped for a three-star place; I was able to make proper coffee and even cook a simple dinner with ingredients from the Rialto market. The bathroom’s compact but functional, and the shower actually has decent water pressure (which, honestly, can be hit or miss in these old Venetian buildings).
Neighborhood Life
What I love about staying here is how quickly you slip into the rhythm of local life. There’s a small campo just a few minutes away where kids play football in the evenings while their parents chat over spritz. The area has this authentic energy that you just don’t get near the main tourist sites. You’ll pass the same shopkeepers on your way out each morning, and by day three, they’re nodding hello like you’re a regular. It’s that kind of place where you feel like a temporary resident rather than just another visitor passing through.
Why Guests Love It
The 9.1 rating really makes sense once you’ve stayed here — it’s all about the details that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days. The location gives you the best of both worlds: easy access to everything Venice has to offer, but with a quiet retreat to return to each evening. Couples especially seem to appreciate how romantic the setting feels without being overly touristy or expensive. You’re getting genuine Venetian atmosphere at a price that won’t break the bank, and in a city where location is everything, appartamento Casanova delivers exactly what you’re hoping for.
Venice hotels keep guests near Rialto markets, hidden cicchetti bars, and vaporetto docks.

Tes from United Kingdom – 28 August 2024 (10/10)
Loved all of it 🙂
Especially Terrace
What could be improved: Steps we a lot in heat but for what you have up there well worth it if you are fit 🙂Cynthia from Australia – 4 August 2024 (8/10)
Great location, close to Basilica, Piazza san Marco, supermarket across the road.
The private balcony was a bonus
What could be improved: It is not ideal for travellers with large suitcases to carry up 68 steps.
There is not enough light in the kitchen/eating areaEce from Turkey – 12 July 2024 (9/10)
The location of the appatment was the best. Every place that we would like to see was 6-7 min by walk. Rialto bridge and san marco was close. Also this appartment has a terrace with a great view from san marco.
What could be improved: Shower was the downside of this appartment. Also it would be nice if there was coffee in the jar since there was a moka pot. The garbage system of the city in general was challanging but we found a way to manage 🙂Jakub from Slovakia – 12 June 2024 (10/10)
Everything was clean and nice as in the photos. Great location right in the middle od the city. Host was very friendly and helpful.
Luke from United Kingdom – 19 April 2024 (10/10)
Everything, especially the roof terrace which exceeded expectations.
The host was kind enough to let us use the apartment until our evening flight, which was really helpful, and we appreciated it a lot.

Amazing property in the heart of one of Venice's nicest neighbourhoods. The terrace view is to die for, and it's amazing to be right in the middle of life in the lagoon city. The hosts were very nice to deal with and hurried to arrive when we got there even though they were busy with other bookings.
What could be improved: Careful of the mosquitos! It seems there is no way to avoid them in this area of Venice. A big surprise during winter.Marijana from Serbia – 18 February 2024 (10/10)
The accommodation is excellent, with a sweet terrace with a beautiful view of the rooftops of Venice. We were a family with a child, it was very comfortable, clean, in an excellent location. Highly recommended.
Craig from United Kingdom – 23 November 2023 (10/10)
Booked for 3 nights with my partner. The apartment is superb, literally a 5 minute walk from Rialto water boat stop. Top floor apartment with an amazing terrace with unreal views of the city including St Marks Bassilica. Kitchen area with all facilities, double bed in a decent size bedroom and a shower en suite. Location was perfect and the host was very helpful. Highly recommend staying here.
What could be improved: Nothing, it was perfect.Bond from United Kingdom – 11 November 2023 (9/10)
The roof top terrace was amazing!
