Appartamento Luxury Ai Greci Overview
First Impressions
Walking down Calle San Lorenzo in the Castello district, you’d almost miss Appartamento Luxury Ai Greci if you weren’t looking for it — and honestly, that’s part of its charm. This three-star property sits quietly in one of Venice‘s most authentic neighborhoods, where you’ll hear more Italian than English echoing off the ancient walls. The entrance feels more like stepping into someone’s carefully curated home than a typical hotel, which makes sense given the apartment-style setup.
The Perfect Venetian Hideaway
What struck me most about this place is how it manages to feel genuinely Venetian while still offering modern comfort. The room I stayed in had that perfect balance — original beamed ceilings and traditional Venetian touches, but with updated amenities that actually work (you know how hit-or-miss that can be in Venice’s older buildings). The space feels more spacious than most Venice accommodations, probably because it’s designed as an apartment rather than a cramped hotel room. You get a real sense of living like a local here, especially when you’re making morning coffee and watching the neighborhood come alive below.
Location That Locals Love
The Castello district is where Venetians actually live and work, and this location puts you right in the heart of it all. You’re a pleasant five-minute walk from San Marco Square, but far enough away that you escape the tourist crowds when you want to. I loved wandering the nearby streets in the evening — there’s this little bacaro around the corner that serves incredible cicchetti, and the locals were more than happy to chat once they realized you weren’t just another day-tripper. The area has that authentic Venice feeling that’s getting harder to find near the main attractions.
Why Couples Keep Coming Back
I can see why couples rate this place so highly — there’s something inherently romantic about having your own little Venetian retreat. The apartment-style layout gives you privacy and space to actually relax together, rather than feeling like you’re just crashing between sightseeing sessions. In the evenings, you can open the windows and listen to the gentle sounds of the neighborhood settling in for the night. It’s intimate without being isolated, and the staff clearly understands how to make couples feel special without being overly intrusive.
Why Guests Love It
With a 9.3 rating and that impressive 9.7 location score, guests consistently rave about how this place delivers on the Venice experience they were hoping for. You’re getting authentic neighborhood living with the convenience of being steps from major attractions — honestly, it’s the best of both worlds. The value is solid for what you get, especially considering Venice’s notoriously high accommodation prices. Most importantly, you’ll leave feeling like you actually experienced Venice rather than just visited it, and that’s worth everything when you’re talking about a city this special.

I can’t thank our wonderful host enough! The flat is so spacious, immaculately clean and beautifully decorated. The location is simply perfect, the property is on a quiet street but literally 30m away from a good food store, 2 minutes walk from beautiful canal and all the restaurants, shops etc. Thank you so much for your hospitality and all help!

The best beds and pillows ever!
Very quiet. The patio is super. The screens on the windows are a rare treat. The supermarket next door unobtrusive but fabulously convenient!
What could be improved: There is a map on the inside of the front door with a suggested walking route to find the apartment from the vaporetto stop. If that could somehow be sent ahead of time, it would be very helpful. Venice is a wonderful but challenging maze of passageways.Gary from United Kingdom – 18 July 2024 (9/10)
Quiet Central location but close to main square and attractions, only 10 minute walk. Private courtyard was a real bonus, We spent a lot of time out there. Very handy for local well stocked supermarket and water taxi stop only 50m away. Our host Laura was brilliant. She was always available to book tickets, offer advice and answer any questions. She made our trip very easy.
What could be improved: Only minor point was 2nd bedroom did not have air conditioning but had an air blower.Cathryn from United States – 16 July 2024 (10/10)
Laura was such a wonderful hostess, welcoming us at the vaporetto and walking us to the apartment. There is everything you could possibly need, from dishes to a washer to books. A grocery store is a few steps away.
The furnishings in the apartment are unique and beautiful. Laura was especially kind to my younger daughter. It was easy to walk down to the Grand Canal and St. Marks, but we were a little away from the crush of tourists.

Excellent place – next to tourist attractions! Apartments with Venetian charm, surprisingly spacious with a terrace as an oasis of peace, even though you are in the city center!
Everything was great – thanks to the lovely hostess who met us on the way from the airport! Choose this option and your trip will be unforgettable!Matharu from United Kingdom – 17 May 2024 (10/10)

Our host Laura was very kind an prepared the appartement a little earlier for us and waited for our arrival.
Her apartment was VERY clean and everything is comfortable and well organized. We really enjoyed our stay there, The location is perfect, near the San Marco square yet out of the touristic streets.Sylvia from Ireland – 10 April 2024 (8/10)
Laura was very helpful. Apt is so well equipped and we had everything we needed. The apt was absolutely spotless. Having two bathrooms was brilliant and the outdoor area was a bonus.
What could be improved: It’s only a small thing but the two single beds are metal so every time you turned in the bed it creaked and might wake you or the other person up. It’s is in a residential block/house so you can hear the loo flushing and footsteps upstairs but it wouldn’t wake you. They can obviously hear us too! It didn’t affect our enjoyment of the apt though and would return.
