Ca’ Badoer Attic Overview
First Impressions
Walking through the narrow streets of San Polo to reach Ca’ Badoer Attic, you’ll honestly wonder if you’ve taken a wrong turn — until you spot this charming three-star gem tucked away on Rio Terà San Tomà. The entrance might be understated, but that’s actually part of its appeal. This isn’t some flashy tourist trap; it’s the kind of place locals would recommend if they were being generous with their secrets. The building itself has that weathered Venetian character you can’t fake, and stepping inside feels like discovering a well-kept family hideaway.
The San Polo Advantage
You know what’s brilliant about this location? You’re right in the heart of Venice without being trampled by cruise ship crowds every morning. San Polo is where actual Venetians still live and work — I mean, you’ll hear Italian conversations in the morning, not just tourist chatter. The Rialto Market is practically around the corner, and honestly, watching the vendors set up their fish stalls at dawn is better than any museum visit. Couples seem to get this immediately (they’ve rated the location 9.6), probably because wandering these quieter campos hand-in-hand feels genuinely romantic rather than like a photo opportunity.
Your Space
The attic room setup here is something special — these aren’t your standard hotel boxes. The slanted ceilings and exposed beams give each space real character, though taller guests might want to watch their heads near the windows. What I love is how they’ve managed to make these compact spaces feel cozy rather than cramped. The views vary depending on which apartment you get, but even the courtyard-facing ones have charm. The furnishings strike that tricky balance between Venetian style and actual comfort — you’re not sleeping on a museum piece, but you’re definitely not in a generic chain hotel either.
Daily Rhythms
Mornings here have a lovely rhythm to them. There’s no massive breakfast buffet scene, which honestly works better — you can grab something simple and head out to explore while the city’s still waking up. The nearby bars (that’s coffee shops, for non-Italians) serve proper espresso and cornetti that put hotel breakfast to shame anyway. What’s nice is coming back in the evening when the area settles into that golden hour calm. The narrow streets that seemed maze-like on arrival become familiar, and you’ll find yourself taking shortcuts that would’ve seemed impossible on day one.
Why Guests Love It
That 9.9 location score isn’t just numbers — it reflects something real about how this place sits in Venice. You’re close enough to everything that matters (the Rialto Bridge is a five-minute walk), but far enough from the main tourist arteries to feel like you’ve found something authentic. The staff seems to understand this balance too; they’re helpful without being hovering, knowledgeable about the neighborhood without being pushy about recommendations. For couples especially, there’s something about having your own little Venetian hideaway that makes the whole experience feel more intimate and less like you’re just another tourist checking boxes.

Location was perfect! Lovely space with everything you need.
What could be improved: Hot water limited, but small complaintVasil from United Kingdom – 22 August 2024 (9/10)
The attic was well appointed and thoroughly clean, exhibiting a lot of period features – house is 750years old. Air-conditioning was essential as it was heating up a lot during the day.
The kitchen was well equipped. Internet was fast and there was a lift to the 4th floor.
What could be improved: Bathroom was quite small and awkward and water was going everywhere when showering as there was no cubicle and the curtain was in an awkward position.
The water pressure was a real issue and temperature was constantly changing as the hot water was coming from a combi boiler that was turning on and off due to the pressure being inconsistent.Jacob from Canada – 6 July 2024 (10/10)
The view from this room was just amazing, and the space is much bigger than it looks in the pictures. Fridge, washing machine, and stove were very convenient to have while we were in Venice.

The location was amazing, central but away from the crowds, a short walk to everything.
Host was available for information and responsive to texts.Robert from United States – 14 April 2023 (10/10)
The view is unbeatable. The vibes are amazing and warm and charming. Would move into this apartment if I could. The host was so sweet and attentive. The street was quiet, but around the corners were bustling squares full of food and fun to enjoy.
Emilia from Finland – 21 January 2023 (9/10)
Comfy beds, quiet building and in a perfect area. Restaurants and souvenier shops near by were very affordable. The place is good for 2-3 people. The host was so nice and gave us many tips for our trip.

Self catering.
Excellent location and three good outlooks.
Not a huge apartment but fine for 2 or 3
What could be improved: Shower is of the wet room type, a little unusual as the bathroom is small.Łukasz from Spain – 30 September 2022 (10/10)
Very good location in the center of old town. Very nice view from windows.
Shower was not that bad as people say – I'm almost 2 meters tall and was able to take shower without any problem.Sophie from United Kingdom – 5 June 2022 (10/10)
