Ca Marta Venice Overview

First Impressions

Walking through the narrow Venetian streets to find Ca Marta Venice feels like a treasure hunt — and honestly, that’s half the charm. This three-star boutique property sits right in San Marco, tucked away from the tourist chaos but close enough that you can hear the gentle hum of St. Mark’s Square just around the corner. The building itself has that weathered Venetian elegance you see in postcards, but what strikes you immediately is how intimate it feels compared to the massive hotels that dominate the area.

Location Magic

I mean, you really can’t beat this spot in Venice. You’re literally steps from the Doge’s Palace and the basilica, but here’s what the guidebooks don’t tell you — you can actually walk to the Rialto Bridge in about eight minutes without getting completely lost in the maze of bridges and alleyways. The couples who stay here absolutely love it (they rate the location 9.8, which honestly makes sense), and I think it’s because you get that romantic Venice feeling without being stuck in a tourist bubble. There’s a little café right around the corner where locals actually grab their morning coffee, which tells you everything about the neighborhood.

The Space

The room I stayed in was compact but thoughtfully designed — you know how Venetian buildings are, every square foot matters. What impressed me was how they managed to fit in modern amenities without losing that historic character. The windows open onto a quiet courtyard, which is actually a blessing because Venice can get pretty noisy, especially during peak season. The bathroom was updated and functional, though if you’re traveling with lots of luggage, you might need to get creative with storage space.

Daily Rhythms

Mornings here have a nice rhythm to them. The staff — and there aren’t many, which keeps things personal — genuinely seem to know the city well. They’ll point you toward the less crowded routes to major sights, or suggest which campos have the best evening aperitivo spots. What I appreciated was that they didn’t just hand you a generic tourist map; they actually took time to understand what you wanted to see. The property doesn’t have a restaurant, but honestly, you’re in Venice — you want to be out exploring the incredible food scene anyway.

Why Guests Love It

This place works because it strikes that perfect balance between location and authenticity. You’re not paying five-star prices, but you’re getting something more valuable — a genuine Venice experience in the heart of the action. The 9.4 rating makes sense when you consider that most guests are looking for exactly this: a clean, comfortable base that doesn’t feel like a chain hotel. It’s the kind of place where you’ll actually want to come back to rest between wandering sessions, and where the staff remembers your name by day two. For couples especially, there’s something romantic about having your own little corner of Venice to retreat to after days spent getting wonderfully lost in this impossible, beautiful city.

Hotels near me in Venice offer water taxi moorings, Basilica queues, and gondola lessons steps away.

  • Maria from Greece – 4 February 2025 (10/10)

The apartment is simply wonderful.. in the center of Venice, within walking distance of the most important points of interest.. a few moments at night there was a bit of noise from the groups that stayed up all night, but it is expected when you live so centrally! Our stay was excellent! From the moment of our arrival, we constantly had pleasant surprises from Annalisa.. she came herself to pick us up from the place where the water taxi left us.. When we entered the apartment building, it smelled incredibly beautiful cleanliness!! The apartment itself was spotless, with very comfortable spaces and beds.. equipped with slippers, personal care products, and some delicious snacks.. What we loved was that she had taken care to leave us a can of milk in the fridge for our coffee!!! Annalisa, thank you very much.. The only thing that might be needed is a few more hangers for wet towels, when the place is full of people.. We will definitely be back!! It was an unforgettable stay..

What could be improved: everything was superb!

  • Artsiom from Poland – 23 January 2025 (9/10)

The flat is absolutely wonderful, and the owners are so kind and welcoming. We really loved our stay there; it's just a short walk to the main square yet far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the busy streets. While there is a bit of street noise, it’s all part of the charm of living in a vibrant city. We appreciate the atmosphere and had a great time!

What could be improved: Although some lights weren't working, everything else was great!

    Location

What could be improved: Can be noisy

  • Ellen from United States – 1 January 2025 (9/10)

Fantastic location, just behind the S Marco Square and close to all the major attractions. Facilities were all renovated, very spacious and very comfortable beds. Great toiletries and nespresso machine.

What could be improved: A little noisy in the early morning and evening because of the pedestrian traffic below. Narrow staircase to get up to the second floor.

  • Angeliki from Greece – 18 November 2024 (10/10)

The apartment was in a great location near piazza San Marco and Rialto bridge. It was comfortable and very clean. The host was very kind, showed us everything at the apartment and was very helpful. The place had everything we needed and much more. Would stay here again for sure!

What could be improved: Everything was perfect

  • Aniska from South Africa – 21 October 2024 (10/10)

The host met us in person. There were some lovely amenities and the facilities were amazing. Very spacious, and everything we needed was available. During our whole trip to Italy, this place truly exceeded our expectations.

What could be improved: The only comment we can make is that tourists can be quite noisy walking around in that area. But it usually quieted down around 10pm.

  • Stephanie from United Kingdom – 16 October 2024 (10/10)

Location was brilliant and the place was spilotless.very helpful hosts

What could be improved: Needed an iron or a steamer
