CA’ MOROSINA , Venezia Overview

First Impressions

Walking through the narrow streets of Cannaregio to find CA’ MOROSINA feels like you’re on a treasure hunt — and honestly, that’s part of the charm. This three-star boutique hotel sits tucked away on Campiello Widmann, which means you’ll actually feel like you’ve discovered something special rather than just another tourist trap. The entrance is understated in that perfectly Venetian way, where you know there’s something wonderful waiting behind an unassuming door.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s what I love about staying in Cannaregio — you’re close enough to everything that matters but far enough from the crowds that descend on San Marco. CA’ MOROSINA is maybe a ten-minute walk to the Rialto Bridge, but you’re staying in a neighborhood where actual Venetians still live and work. There’s a fantastic bacaro just around the corner where locals grab their morning coffee, and you know what? The hotel staff will point you toward these kinds of places. The location gets consistently high marks from guests, and after staying here, I totally get why couples rate it so highly for romantic getaways.

The Rooms

The rooms at CA’ MOROSINA strike that perfect balance between authentic Venetian character and modern comfort. You’ll find original beamed ceilings and terrazzo floors — the real deal, not some theme park version — but also reliable Wi-Fi and air conditioning that actually works (trust me, this matters in summer). The bathrooms are compact but well-designed, which is pretty much what you’d expect in a historic Venetian building. Some rooms have canal views, though honestly, even the courtyard-facing ones have plenty of charm with their glimpses of neighboring palazzos.

Service & Atmosphere

The staff here genuinely seems to care about making your stay memorable, which isn’t always a given in Venice where tourism can feel pretty transactional. They’ll help you navigate the water taxi situation, recommend restaurants that aren’t tourist traps, and — this is key — they actually know the neighborhood well enough to give you insider tips. The whole place has this intimate, family-run feel even though it’s professionally managed. You’re not going to get resort-style amenities, but you will get that personal touch that makes you feel like you’re staying somewhere special rather than just passing through.

Why Guests Love It

What keeps people coming back to CA’ MOROSINA is how it manages to feel authentically Venetian without sacrificing comfort. You’re staying in a real neighborhood, in a building with genuine history, but you’re not roughing it or dealing with the quirks that sometimes come with older properties. The combination of that prime Cannaregio location, thoughtful service, and rooms that actually feel like Venice rather than generic hotel spaces — that’s what earns it those consistently high ratings. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself planning your next Venice trip before you’ve even checked out.

Reviews of CA’ MOROSINA , Venezia

  • Vincenzo from Italy – 23 March 2025 (9/10)

Tutto perfetto, siamo potuti entrare un po' prima dell' orario checkin, ci ha fatto lasciare i bagagli al checkout, appartamento con tutto il necessario, grande, pulito..con vista sul canale. Grazie!

  • Гелецкая from Ukraine – 3 March 2025 (9/10)

Месторасположение супер, тихий дворик в самом центру Венеции. С окон вид на канал, по которой плавают гондолы.
В апартаментах есть все необходимое, приятно удивило наличие аптечки.

  • Fiorella from Costa Rica – 10 October 2024 (9/10)

The views to the canals are definitely the top tier attraction of this location, and also pretty well located and suuuuper spacious

What could be improved: Not that we didn’t like it, but it’s different and a bit complex that there’s many rules for the trash, initially I thought it was just regular recycling but seems that there’s someone you need to left the trash before 10:30am and that’s not feasible when you are traveling so we just took the trash with us when we left, not sure if I misunderstood or it was written in a complex way but everything else was awesome!

  • Melanie from United States – 8 June 2024 (8/10)

The apartment is in a perfect location near the Rialto Bridge. Lucia was very proactive in providing very thorough instructions as to how to locate the apartment. She added pictures as well, which were extremely helpful. I'm not sure we would have found the apartment without the pictures. She provided a map of recommended restaurants, shopping, markets, etc.–which proved very helpful. Hearing the gondoliers sing, whistle, and alert one another to the other's approach was really entertaining. Lucia is a responsive host and was flexible in meeting our requests.

What could be improved: The kitchen amenities were lacking for us–we tend to cook our meals, and there was not a skillet, sharp knives, or lids for saucepans.

  • Jennifer from Australia – 25 May 2024 (9/10)

The apartment was very large and had all that was needed.

What could be improved: I liked all of it although the access down the small lanes was a little disconcerting at night for a solo female traveler.

  • Amélie from Austria – 22 May 2024 (9/10)

The location was really good! The host was available by phone when needed and has provided us with many info for the trip. The flat is well equiped and big.

  • John from United Kingdom – 23 April 2024 (9/10)

Central location by Rialto Bridge, 10 minutes to St Mark’s Square.
Secluded, quiet little bolt hole , secreted away from the main drag.
Owner Lucia really helpful and informative.
    Overlooks canal with gondolas.

What could be improved: Bed not that comfortable. Has some nice features but could do with a facelift.

  • Jenny from Italy – 24 March 2024 (9/10)

    fabulous location and history

  • Ioannis from Greece – 3 January 2024 (9/10)

Perfect location. Comfortable for a couple. Just on the canal. The small gift the owner left for us was a very good touch.

What could be improved: Quite difficult to find. No tv. The cover of the sofa was a little dirty.

  • Michael from United States – 4 September 2023 (9/10)

Where to start? Certainly Venice in all it’s glory is the attraction and specific to this 1BR are the rooms with view of a channel that has gondola’s cruising past. So sweet!
Our hostess prepared the home so nicely as they’re clearly Venice residents so have listed many local places for convenient restaurants and shopping and groceries.

What could be improved: Once found it is OK – just be sure to only follow directions given and trust that you are having an authentic Venetian experience. Bathroom is fully appointed although low door entry into it.
