Hotel Description
I stumbled upon Ca’ Vittoria kind of by accident last spring, you know, when I was dodging the peak tourist crush in Venice – honestly, if you’re smart, aim for April or May before the summer hordes turn everything into a sweaty mess. It’s tucked away in Cannaregio, right on the quieter side of things at Sestiere Cannaregio 2765, just a short wander from the Strada Nova where locals grab their morning espresso and gossip. I mean, getting there was a breeze; I hopped off the vaporetto at Ca’ d’Oro stop – it’s only about a five-minute stroll from there, dragging my suitcase over those uneven cobblestones that always remind you Venice isn’t built for wheels. No parking headaches, obviously, since cars are a myth here, but if you’re coming from the train station, it’s an easy 15-minute walk along the canal, past those little bacari bars serving cicchetti that smell like fried seafood and cheap wine. Check-in was smooth as silk; the owner – this warm, chatty woman named Maria, I think – greeted me with a glass of prosecco and a map scribbled with her favorite hidden spots, like the old Jewish Ghetto just around the corner, where you can still hear kids playing soccer against ancient walls in the evenings.
What really hooked me was how the place feels like stepping into someone’s actual home – well, a really well-kept Venetian one, with those exposed wooden beams and creaky floors that whisper stories from the 1700s. My room overlooked a narrow rio, and mornings started with the soft lap of water against the stones below, mixed with the distant hum of delivery boats unloading crates (sort of noisy at dawn if you’re a light sleeper, but hey, that’s authentic Venice for you). It’s only a 3-star spot, but with a 9.2 rating, it punches way above – the beds are comfy, the Wi-Fi actually works without that frustrating lag you get in some older buildings, and there’s this tiny courtyard garden where they serve breakfast: fresh cornetti, yogurt, and cappuccinos that rival anything on the mainland. I appreciated the little touches, like the stocked minibar with local grappa (try it chilled – trust me) and the bathroom’s marble sink that felt cool and smooth after a hot day exploring. Sure, the rooms aren’t huge – mine was cozy, bordering on snug if you’ve got a lot of luggage – but it forced me to unpack and live like a local, you know? And evenings? Quiet as a whisper after 10 p.m., unlike the chaos near San Marco.
Look, if you’re after that glossy, over-the-top luxury, this isn’t it – but that’s why I loved Ca’ Vittoria. It’s got heart, and it’s perfectly positioned for real Venice vibes: pop over to Fondamenta della Misericordia for aperitivo at spots like Al Timon, where the spritzes flow and you mingle with Venetians instead of tour groups. For a 3-star, the value’s insane – I paid less than I’d expected and left feeling like I’d uncovered a secret. If you’re traveling solo or with a partner who wants to escape the crowds, book it; just remember to pack light and embrace the walk – it’ll make those canal views all the sweeter.

The apartment is located close to the main destinations but far enough so thatyou dont have crowded streets as you step out of the apartment. The host was very responsive and helped us with all questions we had. we had a great time in Venice.
What could be improved: paper towels and napkins, It would have been good to have a roll of paper towel but this is minor.Robbie from United States – 7 August 2024 (10/10)

Ka111er from Georgia – 24 June 2024 (9/10)
The location is very good, quiet place and walking distance from everywhere. Clean and lovely. Air conditioning in all rooms which is very important in humid and hot period of time.
What could be improved: No washing machine. Too many stress reminding all the time that have to leave at 10 am, otherwise will be extra charge 20 euros per hour. And complicated waste management rules. Travelers are under certain stress anyway and no need for additional stress. I am sure if ones keep rules they do it anyway and if one does not want to obey rules they will not. Just a recommendation. Otherwise facility is really very good!
