Canaletto Room Venice Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Canaletto Room Venice feels like discovering a hidden gem tucked away in one of the city’s most authentic neighborhoods. This three-star property sits right in Cannaregio, and honestly, the location alone makes it worth considering — couples consistently rave about it, and I can see why. The building has that weathered Venetian charm you’re hoping for, without the tourist circus that surrounds some of the more famous spots. You know what struck me most? How quiet it gets here in the evenings, despite being so well-connected to everything you actually want to see.
The Cannaregio Advantage
Here’s the thing about staying in Cannaregio — you’re living like a local while still being minutes from the main attractions. The Jewish Quarter is practically on your doorstep, and the walk to Rialto takes maybe fifteen minutes through streets that most tourists never discover. I mean, you’ll pass actual Venetians doing their grocery shopping and kids playing in small campos. The nearest vaporetto stop connects you easily to San Marco or Murano, but honestly, some of my favorite moments were just wandering the narrow streets around the hotel. There’s this little bacaro about two blocks away that serves the best cicchetti — the kind of place you’d never find without staying in the neighborhood.
The Accommodation Experience
The rooms at Canaletto Room Venice are exactly what you’d expect from a well-run three-star place in Venice — clean, comfortable, and designed with the city’s space constraints in mind. Don’t expect huge rooms (this is Venice, after all), but everything feels thoughtfully arranged. The beds are actually comfortable, which isn’t always a given in historic buildings, and the bathrooms are modern enough to feel fresh. What I appreciated most was how quiet my room stayed, even with the windows open — Cannaregio doesn’t get the foot traffic that’ll keep you awake at night.
Getting Around and Practical Matters
The location score of 9.7 isn’t just marketing fluff — it’s genuinely well-positioned for exploring Venice without feeling like you’re camping in Times Square. You can walk to the train station in about ten minutes, which is incredibly handy for day trips or airport connections. The Ca’ d’Oro vaporetto stop is close enough that you’re never stuck, but far enough that you’re not dealing with constant crowds of day-trippers. I found myself using the water buses less than expected because so much of central Venice becomes walkable from here.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people coming back to Canaletto Room Venice is that sweet spot between authentic Venice and tourist practicality. You’re staying in a real neighborhood where people actually live and work, but you’re not sacrificing access to the sights everyone comes to see. The 8.1 rating reflects what I experienced — solid, reliable hospitality without any pretense. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re discovering the “real” Venice, even though you can still make it to St. Mark’s Square for sunset. For couples especially, there’s something romantic about returning each evening to this quieter side of the city, away from the cruise ship crowds but still very much in the heart of it all.

Reviews of Canaletto Room Venice
Miguel from Ireland – 9 October 2024 (9/10)
The level of cleaness was supperb, bed sheets, shower towels, kitchen and the appliances, all were very clean and in top shape.
The support and guidance provided by the entire team before and during the self check-in process was ammazing and it turned out to work very well. Even during the stay the facilities team was following-up daily to see how we were doing and if any assistance was required. This level of support it left us more relaxed as we knew that in case required we could ask them for help.
All the guidance and details provided about topics like: how the transports network work, how does the garbadge collection works, advises on locations to visit, etc all helped us a lot and it made our daily tasks more easier and our stay more pleasent.
What could be improved: The facilities have a kettle helps you boiling some water for a coffe or for a tea. In my opinion if a small microwave was available it would have allowed us to warm some milk for instance.Edita from Ireland – 24 August 2024 (7/10)
Overall great experience! Well located and equipped!
What could be improved: Iron is a must in an apartment, which was missing! Could do with some dishes and cutleries! Something must be done to improve smell in the apartment, quite damp….Hoang from Czech Republic – 5 December 2023 (9/10)
Location is perfect. Accomodation is cozy. Heating and air conditioner worked.
What could be improved: Bedding for blankets was missing. Doors of shower were broken. Mosquito blood spilled over walls.Maxine from United Kingdom – 11 November 2023 (9/10)
Great location. Everything you need is there and the host is super helpful and goes out of his way to ensure you are comfortable to have a great stay in Venice.
What could be improved: Would only recommend to have an iron and ironing table available. Everything else was perfect.Zhanna from Belgium – 7 October 2023 (9/10)
We LOVED the accomodation and the area. There is everything you need for a great stay in Venice. The owner is super sweet and helpful. It's our third time in Venice and this is our favourite accomodation of all.
Andrei from Romania – 20 September 2023 (8/10)
Very quiet, clean, many amenities, close to restaurants
What could be improved: Missing mosquito nets.Jean-philippe from France – 18 September 2023 (9/10)
Top location. Self check-in very simple. Everything that was said in the negative comments is true: the equipment is basic , no coffee machine, no air dryer … but it is definitly a great value for money !
There's even a fridge now ! just to show that owners pay attention to comments
What could be improved: Mosquitoes … but we're in Venice, that's normal, isn't it? A smell of dampness.
It's hard to be autonomous for the breakfast : but with money you don't spend on rental, you can go in a café !Max from United Kingdom – 27 May 2023 (6/10)
Absolutely amazing location with great accessibility. Beautiful, fun neighbourhood that was the right level of busy, probably our favourite part of Venice to just roam around. Can get to Basillica, Ca'doro, Lido, Murano and the airport all in less than half an hour.
What could be improved: The room itself was a little lacking – we found the sheets were a bit mucky and the bed was poorly made when we arrived. Only two plastic cups and a kettle, no fridge, so by no means self-sufficient. You will have to rely on the local cafes and pastitsirias.Abigail from United States – 26 March 2023 (8/10)
Beds were very comfy and the location was perfect. Hosts were very nice and great at communicating.
What could be improved: Troubles with wifi on the first day and the connection was continuously weak. However, the hosts were very helpful and were great when trying to help. They came the next morning at 8am and answered all out questions about airport travel, etc.Małgorzata from Poland – 25 November 2022 (8/10)
Very good location, easy to find thank to great instructions, good contact with the helpful host ( thanks for letting us leaving the bags after check out) appartment was clean and refurbished
What could be improved: Complete lack of utensils such as glasses, corksrew, teaspoons, little plates etc Only one little rubbish bin, nothing to clean the floor eg after the shower
