Casa Di PrimaVera Overview
First Impressions
Walking through the narrow streets of Cannaregio to find Casa Di PrimaVera, you’ll notice how the neighborhood feels authentically Venetian — less touristy than San Marco, but still incredibly well-connected. The three-star property sits on Calle Caotorta, and honestly, the location alone makes this place worth considering. I mean, couples consistently rate the area 9.0 out of 10, which tells you something about how romantic and well-positioned it really is.
The Cannaregio Advantage
What I love about staying at Casa Di PrimaVera is how you’re right in the heart of one of Venice’s most livable districts. Cannaregio has this perfect balance — you’re close enough to walk to the major sights (the Rialto Bridge is totally doable on foot), but you’re also in an area where actual Venetians live and work. The property’s location score of 8.9 isn’t just a number; you’ll feel it when you step outside and find genuine local cafes, neighborhood bakeries, and those little wine bars that tourists rarely discover. It’s the kind of spot where you can grab your morning espresso alongside locals heading to work.
Getting Around Venice
From Casa Di PrimaVera, you’re actually in one of the best positions to explore Venice without feeling overwhelmed by crowds. The nearest vaporetto stops connect you easily to the Grand Canal, and walking to San Marco takes maybe 15-20 minutes through some really charming backstreets. What’s nice is that you can duck back to the hotel during the day when the tourist areas get crazy — Cannaregio stays relatively calm even during peak season. The Jewish Quarter is practically next door, which adds this whole other layer of history and culture to your stay.
The Hotel Experience
Casa Di PrimaVera delivers exactly what you’d expect from a solid three-star in Venice — comfortable, clean, and well-managed without any pretense. The staff clearly knows the neighborhood inside and out, which is invaluable when you’re trying to navigate Venice’s maze-like streets. You know what impressed me most? How they handle the practical stuff that matters in Venice, like helping with water taxi arrangements and giving you the real scoop on which restaurants are worth your time versus which ones are tourist traps.
Why Guests Love It
The 8.0 rating really reflects what this place does well — it’s not trying to be something it’s not, but it excels at being a great base for exploring Venice. Couples especially seem to get it; there’s something about staying in Cannaregio that feels more intimate and authentic than the busier areas. You’ll wake up to the sounds of the neighborhood coming to life rather than tour groups, and that makes all the difference. Plus, when you tell people you stayed in Cannaregio, locals always nod approvingly — it shows you know Venice beyond just the postcard views.

Johannes from United Kingdom – 7 September 2024 (9/10)
What could be improved: Someone came into our appointment at 6:30 in the morning using the door code, saying they are checking in. It scared my family as everyone was asleep.
Chee-ping from Canada – 22 August 2024 (8/10)
large space with kitchen including microwave. multiple rooms. instructions to get to the location were very clear. close enough to main parts of town without being overly busy or noisy
What could be improved: no soap or shampoo provided (it would have been nice to know so I could bring something from home). Didn't realize we had to slam the door to lock it but we figured that out eventually. INTERNET DID NOT WORK – told the host and she said she would come by and look but didn't. So no internet for my kids for the 2 nights, 3 days we stayed there which was unfortunate.Elena from Estonia – 10 July 2024 (7/10)
It is romantic authentic apartments in the Venice, near the water. We had a late flight and spent one night only. We slept very well. The bed linen was perfectly clean and ironed.
What could be improved: There is double bed + one bed in one room and one small bed in the other room. Would be better if be 2+2, or double + 2 beds.Eve from United Kingdom – 25 April 2024 (8/10)
Was on one floor and not shared cute view
What could be improved: No toilet binParaschiva from Ireland – 29 March 2024 (8/10)
The location, the easy communication with owner.
What could be improved: I would have loved to find a kettle and a toaster.Trishita – 31 May 2023 (7/10)
Nice and calm location, nice apartment for family. The price was really good. Clean apartment, smooth checkin, nice decorations and all necessary items for kitchen were provided. Also Marta gave really good instructions to reach the apartment
What could be improved: There were no proper instructions written for many things. Like we had problems to close the main door and also to light the stove top. If instructions were given things would have been easier. There were no staff to show us around and unfortunately the host did not take the phone whenever connected. She sent texts for communicationKonstanty from Poland – 14 May 2023 (9/10)
Good options for the family. Cozy apartament in quiet part of the town. Good price in Venice. We could leave our laguage in the apartament after check out.
Magda from South Africa – 8 December 2022 (8/10)
The Host was very friendly and very helpful. the property is quaint and was just right for an overnight stay.
What could be improved: Quite a difficult way to cart luggage around, especially over the bridges.Tomasz from Poland – 23 July 2022 (9/10)
Great location to visit authentic Venice far from touristic crowd. The apartment is cool with 2 AC, has comfortable beds, lots of mirrors and kitchen equipped with basic tools. Nice and comfy for undemanding.
Livia from Austria – 29 June 2022 (9/10)
The location is very quiet, though close to where cool things happen. Very easy to find, using Marta's instructions. Marta was great, she provided all the details we needed and went the extra mile to make us feel good.
Everything needed was provided for a comfortable stay, close enough to the train station, to a vaporetto station and nice places to eat.
