Here’s what I love about staying in Cannaregio — you’re actually living where Venetians live, not just visiting where they work. The location score of 9.2 isn’t just marketing fluff; you’re genuinely in one of the best spots in Venice. You can walk to the Rialto Bridge in about ten minutes, but you’re far enough from the main tourist crush that you’ll hear actual conversations in Italian from your window. The nearest vaporetto stop connects you easily to San Marco, but honestly, some of my favorite moments were just wandering the local campos and stumbling across neighborhood bacari that most visitors never find.

The Suite Experience

The rooms at Cupido Suite live up to the “suite” part of the name — there’s actually space to spread out, which you know is rare in Venice. What struck me most was how they’ve managed to blend period details with modern comfort without making it feel forced or theme-park-ish. The bathrooms are surprisingly spacious (again, this is Venice we’re talking about), and you’ll appreciate having a proper place to get ready without bumping into your travel companion every five seconds. The couples who rate this place so highly probably love that there’s room to actually relax together rather than just crash and sleep.

Daily Rhythms

Mornings here feel different than at the bigger hotels closer to San Marco. You’ll wake up to the sound of delivery boats and locals heading to work rather than tour groups gathering in lobbies. There’s no formal breakfast service, but that actually works in your favor — you’re steps away from some excellent local cafes where you can grab a proper Italian coffee and cornetto. I mean, standing at a bar counter with Venetians starting their day beats a hotel buffet any time, right?

Why Couples Love It

It’s easy to see why this place gets such high marks from couples. The intimate scale means you’re not navigating crowds just to get to your room, and the Cannaregio location gives you that romantic Venice feeling without the constant tourist chaos. You can actually have a conversation while walking to dinner, and when you come back at night, the neighborhood settles into this peaceful rhythm that makes you feel like temporary locals.   We liked the location. The unit was quiet. We liked using the cooking facilities and the washing machine. We liked the shower and bidet in the bathroom. Liked the outdoor deck – it felt very private – a nice space to sip a glass of wine!
  
  What could be improved: Though there was a washing machine and ironing board, there was no iron – we understand that will be coming. While an iron can, of course, make clothes neater, we could have used it to finish drying the clothes. Venice is humid and clothes line drying took a very long time.
  A few extras in the kitchen would be helpful: silicone scraper, silicone egg spatula, silicone cooking spoon and slotted spoon, balsamic vinegar, sugar for coffee. (We bought salt, pepper, white wine vinegar and a cork screw to leave behind.)
  After the rains, the mosquitos were voracious! Screens on the windows would be great, to allow ventilation without allowing mozzies inside.
  Though we appreciated getting the windows and toilet seat fixed, waiting for the repairmen to complete the job robbed us of about 2 hours of our day.
