Duplex2 at the entrance of Venice, cozy and relax Overview
First Impressions
Walking down Calle Priuli dei Cavaletti in Cannaregio, you’d almost miss Duplex2 at the entrance of Venice, cozy and relax if you weren’t looking for it — and honestly, that’s part of its charm. This three-star gem sits quietly in one of Venice’s most authentic neighborhoods, away from the tourist chaos but still incredibly well-connected. The moment you step inside, there’s this immediate sense of calm that washes over you, which is exactly what you need after navigating Venice’s maze of streets with your luggage.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what I love about Cannaregio — it’s where actual Venetians live and work, not just where they pose for photos. You’re literally at the entrance to Venice (hence the name), which means you can easily escape to the mainland when you need a break from island life. The location score of 9.4 isn’t just numbers on a screen; couples consistently rate it 9.6 because you get the best of both worlds. You can walk to San Marco in about fifteen minutes, but you’re also surrounded by local bacari where you’ll hear more Italian than English. The nearby Fondamenta delle Guglie is perfect for evening strolls, and the Guglie Bridge offers some surprisingly lovely canal views without the crowds.
The Space
The duplex setup is what really sets this place apart from typical Venice accommodations. You actually get space to breathe — something that’s pretty rare in a city where most hotels feel like elegant closets. The layout works brilliantly for couples who want separate areas to unwind, and the cozy atmosphere isn’t just marketing speak. I mean, after days of walking on stone and marble, having a comfortable space to properly relax makes all the difference. The design strikes that perfect balance between Venetian character and modern comfort, without trying too hard to be Instagram-perfect.
Practical Advantages
What guests don’t always realize until they’re here is how much easier life becomes when you’re not staying right in the thick of things. You can actually get a decent night’s sleep without drunk tourists singing outside your window at 2 AM. The area has proper grocery stores and pharmacies — you know, the stuff you need when you’re staying somewhere for more than just a quick photo op. Getting to and from the train station is straightforward, which matters more than you’d think when you’re dealing with Venice’s geography. Plus, the neighborhood restaurants aren’t inflating their prices for tourists who’ll never return.
Why Guests Love It
The 9.1 rating reflects something you can’t fake — genuine satisfaction from people who’ve actually stayed here. Couples keep coming back because it offers that rare combination of romance and practicality that’s hard to find in Venice. You get the authentic neighborhood experience without sacrificing access to the main attractions, and the duplex layout provides the kind of comfort that makes you want to linger over morning coffee instead of rushing out to sightsee. It’s the sort of place that makes you feel like you’re living in Venice rather than just visiting it, which is exactly what the best travel experiences should do.
Hotel in Venice reservations spike before Redentore fireworks when the lagoon fills with floating dinners.

Great instructions on how to get to the apartment from the airport. Lovely size for our family of 3, situated in a quiet area but really close to everything so ideal. Well equipped kitchen, we were able to cook several different meals as well as eat out when we fancied it. Good value for money, we really enjoyed our stay here in Venice. Thank you x

Great location for a trip to Venice: short distance from a train station, walking distance to all Venice sights, yet located in a quiet and clean residential neighborhood. Apartment is very spacious with 2 full bathrooms, 1 separate bedroom and 1 folding couch in a leaving room. Clean, safe and comfortable. Very responsive and friendly host. WiFi is good enough for Zoom calls. We enjoyed our stay there and will book this place again next time.

I love the place and the communication with the owner was really exceptional, he was really helpful and detail oriented, he was prepared to face any problem we could have. The place was spotless and really comfortable, it had everything we needed and more. And the two bathrooms! I highly recommend.

Great job giving us information on how to find keys and GREAT directions to apartment. Very clean and safe area, super easy to get into Venice while staying close to train station for early morning departure.
What could be improved: The ONLY issue was lack of hot water in upstairs shower, but instead of bothering host we just used downstairs shower. I did tell him after the fact and he was getting it fixed. No worries!Cecilia from Uruguay – 27 April 2024 (10/10)
The house is beautiful and biggest than the photos let you see. The ubication is perfect, very close to St. Lucia train station and 2 different stops of ferries. The bed and sofa-cama were very comfortable, and everything was clean. We loved it! Above all of it, Fabrice give us complete information that we needed and was always reachable via wspp.
What could be improved: I haven't anything bad to say, Fabrice was an excellent host, and we enjoyed our stay.Dasun from Australia – 18 April 2024 (10/10)
Very clean, spacious, well equipped and close to the main train and water taxi stations.
What could be improved: Sometimes the hot water in the showers took a while to reach the desired temperature.Ina from Albania – 1 April 2024 (10/10)

Super host witch supported us in real time for our needs from rooms temperature to the nearest supermarket. I booked the apartament for 3 adults but there can sleep up to 5 or 6. Really raccomemded!

Very clean and well put together duplex that is close to the bus and Venice Santa Lucia train station. The apartment had lots of amenities for a comfortable stay with the family. Grocery stores and restaurants are nearby. We had a great time. The host was very responsive.
What could be improved: Since the duplex is at the entrance of Venice, it's a bit of a walk to the attractions like Doge's palace and Saint Mark's Basilica.
