Hotel Description
Oh man, stepping into Foscà Venice Rooms for the first time – I remember arriving late afternoon, after weaving through those narrow calle in Cannaregio, you know, the ones that twist around like they’re trying to shake off tourists. It’s tucked away in Campiello Diedo, this little square that feels worlds away from the San Marco chaos, even though it’s just a 15-minute stroll from the train station at Santa Lucia. Honestly, I got a bit turned around crossing the Rio di San Felice – typical Venice, right? – but once I found it, the place just exhaled this quiet charm. The facade is all classic Venetian, with those tall windows and faded brick that’s seen centuries, and check-in was a breeze; the owner (I think his name was Marco) handed over the key with a quick chat about where to grab the best cicchetti nearby, no fuss, no long lines like at those big hotels by the Rialto.
What really hooked me was how the rooms nailed that balance between old-world Venice and stuff that actually makes your stay comfortable – I mean, mine had this exposed beam ceiling that made it feel like I was crashing in some merchant’s attic from the 1700s, but with a modern bathroom that didn’t skimp on the hot water (a godsend after a day of vaporetto hopping). The bed was plush, sheets crisp like they’d just been ironed, and there’s this faint scent of aged wood mixed with whatever lavender they use in the linens – sort of transports you, you know? It’s in a spot where you can hear the distant church bells from Madonna dell’Orto in the mornings, but not the constant buzz of suitcase wheels on pavement like in Dorsoduro. Well, okay, minor gripe: no elevator, so if you’ve got heavy bags, those stairs might make you huff a bit, especially in summer humidity. But hey, it’s Venice – everything’s a workout. And being in Cannaregio means you’re steps from Fondamenta de la Misericordia, where locals flock to spots like Paradiso Perduto for aperitivo; I wandered over one evening and ended up chatting with some folks over spritz, feeling like I’d slipped into real Venetian life instead of the postcard version. Parking? Forget it – no cars here, but it’s easy to hop a water taxi from Piazzale Roma if you’re coming from the airport.
All in all, if you’re after a place that lets you unplug from the crowds – think off-season in November when the fog rolls in and everything’s hushed – Foscà is a solid pick. It’s got that 4-star polish without feeling stuffy, and with an 8.6 rating, it’s clear others agree. I left thinking, yeah, this is how Venice should feel: intimate, a little quirky, and way more authentic than those glossy spots by the Grand Canal. You’ll wake up to birds chirping in the campiello, grab coffee at a no-name bar around the corner, and actually explore without the elbow-to-elbow madness. Worth every euro, especially if you’re the type who wants stories over selfies.

We received an unexpected free room upgrade and we appreciate this very much. The view from room 5 is extremely beautiful and the location is very close to everything. The room was clean, spatious, elegant and cozy. The communication with the host was smooth and easy.

I so enjoyed to stay there it was the perfect apartment for matching my needs. Very clean and comfy, a beautiful view over the city from the balcony and a great neighborhood.
What could be improved: I have no complains except the wifi connection was not so good, I mostly used my own mobile data roaming. And I could only open one balcony door, that made it difficult to reach the balcony effortlessly with having stuff in my hand.Ruan from Australia – 7 October 2024 (9/10)
The room was a dream. Aesthetically, clean and so beautifully built. Staying here exceeded our Venice experience expectations by far. The balcony is beyond words, breathtaking. Although there is a bar downstairs you don’t hear a thing! Shutters create a perfectly dark space you can get the best sleep in – if you choose to. Worth e.v.e.r.y s.i.n.g.l.e cent.
What could be improved: That we don’t live there.Louise from United Kingdom – 26 September 2024 (9/10)
The location was perfect. Slightly quieter area but right next to a busy main shopping street. The view was beautiful-as any view in Venice is! I recommend checking in online as the other hotel to check in is about 8 mins away, which isn't great with suitcases on the bridges. You check in via WhatsApp which is so easy. The room was massive. The facilities were brilliant and such a good shower. The staff were very responsive and someone came in everyday to give us clean towels. I would recommend and would stay again.
What could be improved: It was just missing a full length mirror in the bedroom.Natasha from New Zealand – 9 September 2024 (9/10)

Clean room with a nice Venice view. Our room had also a balcony. Good communication with the staff. Good price for the Venice standards.
Natalie from United Kingdom – 26 July 2024 (9/10)
Really good location. Set back a little from the Main Street which was good as made the area a little quieter.
Beautiful views of the canal!
Really clean, house keeping came everyday! Perfect sight room for our 3 day stay. Perfect that we had a fridge as well to keep drinks/food cool as it was really hot! A/C helped a lot!
Could not fault the staff, very helpful and friendly and check in location was really easy to find!
What could be improved: Only downside I would say is that you could hear a lot of noise from other guests in the building.
