Hotel Description
You know, I stumbled upon Henry’s Heaven Apartment almost by accident last spring, right when Venice was shaking off the winter chill but before the summer crowds turned everything into a sweaty mosh pit. It’s tucked away in San Polo, on this quiet little calle off Campo San Polo – that’s the big square where locals actually hang out, playing soccer with their kids or grabbing a spritz at one of those unpretentious bars. I mean, you’re not smack in the middle of the San Marco chaos, but hop on a vaporetto from the San Tomà stop nearby, and you’re at the Rialto Bridge in like five minutes. Walking there from the train station? It’s a solid 15-minute trek with your luggage over a couple of bridges – no elevators in sight, so pack light if stairs aren’t your thing. Honestly, that first evening, as I keyed into the place (they send you a code ahead of time, super straightforward check-in), the whole apartment just exhaled this cozy, lived-in vibe. The wooden beams overhead, the faint scent of old stone mixed with whatever herbs the previous guests had cooked with – it felt like borrowing a friend’s pied-à-terre rather than some sterile hotel room.
What really sold me, though, was how it nails that balance between old-world charm and the stuff you actually need on a trip. The apartment’s got this bright, open living area with a kitchen that’s kitted out properly – think a real espresso machine, not one of those pod things, and enough pots to whip up a pasta dinner from the Rialto Market just down the way (pro tip: go early mornings for the fresh squid and artichokes; it’s a sensory overload of salty air and vendor shouts). The bedroom’s comfy, with linens that don’t feel like they’ve been through a thousand washes, and there’s even a little balcony overlooking a narrow canal – quiet enough at night that you can hear the water lapping gently, minus the gondola serenades that plague the busier spots. Well, sort of quiet; there’s the occasional church bell from Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari nearby, which is this stunning Gothic beast worth popping into for the Titian paintings. I appreciated the air conditioning, too – Venice gets muggy in July, and without it, you’d be miserable. One minor gripe? The Wi-Fi can be spotty during peak hours, but hey, you’re in Venice; put the phone down and wander. It’s got that 4-star polish without feeling fussy, and with a 9.4 rating, it’s clear others dig it as much as I did.
Look, if you’re the type who wants to live like a local – dodging the tourist traps, maybe cooking with ingredients from the neighborhood shops along Rio Terà San Polo – this place is heaven, no pun intended. It’s perfect for couples or small families who need space to spread out after a day of bridge-hopping and museum-hopping. I left feeling like I’d uncovered a secret corner of the city, and honestly, in a place as overtouristed as Venice, that’s gold. Book it for shoulder season if you can; you’ll thank me when you’re sipping coffee on that balcony without a soul in sight.

Lovely well equipped apartment with 2 ensuite bedrooms perfect fou us two couples. Situated in a not too busy part of the city. We had no trouble finding it with Google maps. Linen and towels were of good quality and the courtyard was an added bonus. It's an easy (for Venice) 20min. walk from the train station.

Gorgeous, warm, clean, comfortable and charmingly decorated.
Great area close to everything yet peaceful.
Lovely host met us when we were so late arriving.
Everything was perfect. Only tiny improvement would be a tap or hand help shower attachment in the red rooms bathroom. But we loved having two big bathrooms and an extra toilet. Loved the private court yard. Very secure and prettyNicola from United Kingdom – 21 September 2024 (10/10)

The apartment has everything a family of four needs. It features comfortable beds, a fully equipped kitchen, and elegant finishes throughout. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, ensuring comfort, and there is well-functioning air conditioning in every room. The location is excellent, and the terrace adds extra space, perfect for sitting or dining outdoors.
What could be improved: There are practically no issues, but if I had to mention something, it would be two things: the boiler's efficiency—you can only use the shower in one bathroom at a time—and the uncomfortable furniture on the terrace. However, regarding the water, we were in Venice, so it didn’t really bother us.Matthew from United Kingdom – 13 August 2024 (10/10)
Great location and really well appointed. Magnificently decorated and really made your stay at Venice special

This was a very nice apartment with good amenities.
What could be improved: We couldn’t find the remote(s) to operate the air conditioner. So, it was a little warm inside without the windows open.Lungu from Romania – 2 March 2024 (10/10)
Everything was ok. The location is very nice near the place we want to visit.

The apartment is incredible. We loved it so much! So clean, tidy and beautifully decorated with many curated details. The rooms are spacious, the temperature was perfect and we felt like home immediately. The location is the BEST, since it’s only a few minutes walk from Piazzale Roma. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay in Venice and we will be back for sure!
What could be improved: Only little thing: the shower is not very hot, it’s kind of lukewarm, it would be perfect if it was hotter and with a bit more pressure.
