Hotel Giudecca Venezia Overview
First Impressions
Walking through the narrow streets of Giudecca to reach Hotel Giudecca Venezia feels like discovering a secret that most tourists never find. This three-star property sits tucked away on Corte Ferrando, and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it special. You know how Venice can feel overwhelming with all the crowds around San Marco? Well, this side of the lagoon offers something completely different — it’s still authentically Venetian, but you can actually breathe here. The hotel itself has this understated charm that grows on you, nothing flashy or trying too hard, just solid Venetian hospitality in one of the city’s most genuine neighborhoods.
Location & Neighborhood
Giudecca is where Venetians actually live, and that makes all the difference. I mean, you’re still just a quick vaporetto ride from all the major sights — the water bus stops are right there — but when you come back in the evening, you’re escaping to this quieter island where locals walk their dogs and kids play in small campos. The location score of 8.7 makes perfect sense once you experience it. Couples especially seem to get it (they rate the location 8.8), probably because there’s something romantic about having Venice’s skyline spread out across the water from you, rather than being crushed in the middle of it all.
The Experience
What strikes me about staying here is how it changes your whole Venice rhythm. Instead of fighting crowds for a decent restaurant, you’ll find neighborhood spots where the staff actually remembers your face after a couple of days. The hotel staff understands this too — they’re not just checking you in, they’re helping you discover a side of Venice that most visitors miss entirely. The rooms are comfortable without being fancy, which honestly feels right for the neighborhood. You’re not here for marble bathrooms and champagne service; you’re here for an authentic slice of Venetian life that happens to come with professional hospitality and a proper bed.
Getting Around
The vaporetto connections from Giudecca are actually brilliant once you figure them out. Line 2 gets you to San Marco in about ten minutes, and the night service means you’re not stranded after dinner in Dorsoduro. What I really appreciate is having Palanca stop so close — it connects you to the Zattere, which is one of Venice’s most pleasant waterfront walks. Plus, there’s something magical about approaching Venice from the water each time you come and go, seeing the city rise from the lagoon the way it was meant to be seen.
Why Guests Love It
The 8.5 rating tells the real story here — this isn’t about perfection, it’s about getting Venice right. Guests consistently mention feeling like they’ve found the “real” Venice, away from the tourist machinery but still connected to everything that matters. The combination of genuine neighborhood life, solid three-star comfort, and that unbeatable location in what’s rated as Venice’s best area creates something special. You’ll spend your days exploring the main islands, but you’ll actually look forward to coming “home” to Giudecca each evening, which is more than most Venice hotels can claim.

Reviews of Hotel Giudecca Venezia
Sas from Ireland – 27 March 2025 (7/10)
The hotel was nice and clean, the staff was very friendly, breakfast was delicious, the location of the hotel is a bit to far from the airport and a bit tricky to get there,
What could be improved: I didn't like the noises, I was staying in room 4 for 5 night, I couldn't sleep at all, I could hear the people from upstairs walking in the room all night and in the morning they was making very bad noises from 5 am, and the way I was staying downstairs I could hear people coming and going all night, it was really hard to get some sleep, after this trip I had to sleep for one day and a night and still wasn't ok, except the noises everything was good, so avoid to stay downstairs,Sevak from Czech Republic – 25 March 2025 (8/10)
Nice hotel, friendly staff, clean room.
What could be improved: Breakfast was limited. You need to use a ferry to reach the hotel from the city. The price could be lower for such a limitation.Sergei from Estonia – 7 March 2025 (9/10)
Very good location. Attentive staff. Good breakfast. Cozy, comfortable, clean room.

I went for a conference at the Hilton Molino Stucky. It was less than a convenient 10 minute stroll away. The hotel is a short walk to excellent restaurants and coffee shops just around the corner at your fingertip. Extremely less touristy and populated than Venezia (and prices reflect it!) I highly recommend staying on Guidecca and getting the short water ferry (only a couple of minutes walk) to the other side. It is easy to wheel your luggage on the pavements to the hotel, or a private water taxi takes you right to their private pier. The hotel was excellent – 24 hour reception and every staff member was always friendly and helpful. VERY clean room – such a comfortable bed and feather doona and excellent power showerhead. Wi-Fi never let me down, amenities in the room, and gorgeous canal view with windows that opened right over the water (also the room had heating/air con) . Really felt like you were living like a local instead of being a tourist. Hotel answered my emails promptly. I didn't have the breakfast but it always smelled fab. Highly recommend as a single travelling female. Hope to come back to Venice again and will be staying here again 100%. 10/10.
What could be improved: The hair dryer in the bathroom could have been more powerful and had more of a nozzle (absolutely a 1% issue that is barely worth mentioning but I was trying to think of a bad point!).Michał from Poland – 10 October 2024 (9/10)
