Molino Stucky Residence Suites Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Molino Stucky Residence Suites on Giudecca island, you immediately notice how different this feels from the tourist chaos of central Venice. This three-star property sits in what used to be an industrial flour mill — honestly, the building’s history is written all over its impressive brick facade. You’re staying in a piece of Venetian industrial heritage that’s been thoughtfully converted into residential-style accommodations, and there’s something genuinely cool about that.

The Giudecca Advantage

Here’s what I love about this location — you get those postcard views of Venice’s main skyline without dealing with the crowds every single day. The vaporetto ride across the Giudecca Canal takes maybe five minutes, but it feels like you’re commuting to work rather than fighting through tourist hordes. Couples absolutely get this appeal (they rate the location 9.7, which honestly makes perfect sense). You can have your morning coffee watching the sun hit San Marco across the water, then hop on the boat when you’re ready to dive into the city.

Living Like a Local

The suites here feel more like temporary apartments than hotel rooms — each apartment comes with a proper kitchen setup, which means you can actually shop at the local markets and cook dinner if you want. I mean, there’s something pretty magical about preparing fresh seafood you bought at Rialto while looking out at the lagoon. The spaces are generous by Venice standards, and you’ll appreciate having somewhere to spread out after long days of sightseeing. Storage space actually exists here, unlike many Venetian hotels where you’re living out of a suitcase.

Neighborhood Feel

Giudecca still has that authentic neighborhood vibe that’s getting harder to find in Venice proper. You’ll see locals doing their grocery shopping, kids playing in the campos, and elderly Venetians sitting outside chatting in dialect. There’s a decent restaurant scene developing here too — nothing too fancy, but solid cicchetti bars and family-run trattorias where you won’t feel like you’re paying tourist prices. The island has this laid-back energy that’s perfect after intense days exploring Doge’s Palace or getting lost in the Castello district.

Why Guests Love It

The combination really works — you get modern amenities and space in a building with serious character, plus that unbeatable location score of 9.3 isn’t just marketing fluff. Being able to step outside and immediately feel like you’re in residential Venice, then be in St. Mark’s Square within fifteen minutes, gives you the best of both worlds. The ferry connections are frequent enough that you never feel stranded, but when you come back in the evening, you’re returning to peace and quiet instead of more tourist chaos. It’s particularly great for longer stays when you want to settle in rather than just pass through.

It’s location was fabulous, it’s quiet & your away from the hustle yet easily accessible to all the main areas by vaporetti. There is a pastry shop & several restaurants close by. Standing on the Juliet balcony watching the boats zip by while having a a glass of wine in the evening is 10 out of 10!
The room is absolutely beautiful, very spacious with a kitchen with all the appliances you need & a dining area. The bathroom is huge & kept very clean.
Our host made sure we had information on the water transport & restaurants and made us feel very welcome.

Location is brilliant on the Giudecca, with views across the lagoon and within easy reach of the hot spots
