Palazzo Querini Accademia Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Palazzo Querini Accademia feels like stepping into someone’s elegant Venetian home — which, honestly, is exactly what this place used to be. The palazzo sits right in Dorsoduro, and I mean right where you want to be in Venice. You know that feeling when you find a place that’s perfectly positioned but somehow still feels like a secret? That’s this four-star gem. The entrance might be understated, but once you’re inside, the original frescoes and period details remind you that you’re staying in a piece of actual Venetian history.
The Dorsoduro Advantage
Here’s what I love about this location — you’re literally steps from the Peggy Guggenheim Collection and the Accademia Gallery, but you’re also in this quieter, more residential part of Venice that most tourists rush right past. Dorsoduro has this authentic neighborhood vibe where you’ll see locals doing their shopping and kids playing in the campos. The Zattere waterfront is just a short walk away, perfect for those evening strolls along the Giudecca Canal when the day-trippers have all headed back to the mainland. Plus, you’re close enough to San Marco that you can easily walk there, but far enough away that you escape the crowds.
Your Venetian Sanctuary
The room I stayed in had these incredible canal views — and I’m not talking about some narrow side canal, but proper water views where you can watch the boats go by. The interiors blend period charm with modern comfort really well, though don’t expect cutting-edge design. What you get instead is authentic Venetian elegance with comfortable beds, good lighting for reading, and bathrooms that actually work properly (which, trust me, isn’t always a given in Venice’s historic buildings). The windows are the real star though — opening them up in the morning and hearing the gentle lap of water below never gets old.
Living Like a Local
One thing that sets this place apart is how it connects you to the real Venice. There’s this fantastic bacaro just around the corner that serves the best cicchetti in the neighborhood — the kind of place you’d never find without a local tip. The staff here actually knows the area well and can point you toward the hidden gems, like which bridge has the best sunset views or where to find that perfect morning cappuccino. You’re also walking distance from the Rialto Market, so if you want to experience Venice beyond the tourist trail, you’re perfectly positioned.
Why Guests Love It
What really makes Palazzo Querini Accademia special is how it balances authenticity with comfort. You’re staying in a real Venetian palazzo, sleeping in rooms with original architectural details, but you’re not sacrificing modern amenities or good service. Couples especially seem to fall for this place — there’s something undeniably romantic about having your own slice of Venice to come home to after a day of exploring. The location score speaks for itself, but it’s more than just being well-positioned. It’s about being in the right part of Venice, where you can experience both the grandeur and the everyday magic of this incredible city.
Early hotels booking in Venice secures balcony seats for Vogalonga regattas and torchlit basilica tours.

Pretty much everything about it as we had a random selection of the property. The view from the apartment was so refreshing throughout the day. Location was just perfect for a family of 4 in terms of mobility and access to restaurants and convenient stores. It has all the facilities and appliances that one may need. Hostess Monica in particular was simply outstanding not just as a host but also with some tips and advice. We ended up watching the fireworks from the apartment and it was magical.
What could be improved: There is nothing we could think of that we would say we did not like. It has been a perfect property for Middle Eastern family. Already considering coming back because of the hosts, location, view and the cleanliness of property.
