Hotel Description
I remember stepping off the vaporetto at San Toma and weaving through those narrow calli toward Campo San Polo – you know, that big, open square in the San Polo district where locals actually hang out, not just tourists snapping selfies. It’s got this lived-in charm, with kids kicking soccer balls around in the evenings and the occasional market stall popping up. Anyway, the Romantic Sky Apartment is tucked right there at 2082 Campo San Polo, and honestly, finding it felt like stumbling onto a hidden gem after dodging the crowds near Rialto. I arrived in late spring, when Venice isn’t yet sweltering but the canals start to hum with gondola traffic, and check-in was a breeze – no fuss, just a friendly host who handed over the keys and pointed out the best spot for morning coffee at the little cafe across the campo (try the cornetto, it’s flaky and perfect). The building itself has that classic Venetian vibe, with weathered stone steps leading up to what feels more like a cozy apartment than a sterile hotel room – think exposed beams and a terrace that overlooks the rooftops, where you can sip prosecco as the sun dips low.
What really sold me on this place – well, besides the 4-star comforts without the over-the-top price tag – was how it nails that romantic escape without trying too hard. The rooms are spacious, with these huge windows letting in that soft, golden light Venice is famous for, and the bed? Oh man, it’s like sinking into a cloud after a day of pounding the pavements. I stayed in one with a sky view – hence the name, I guess – and waking up to church bells tolling from nearby San Polo or the faint splash of oars in the canal below was pure magic. Sensory-wise, there’s this subtle scent of old wood and fresh linens, and the air conditioning hums quietly enough that it doesn’t drown out the city’s soundtrack. It’s rated a solid 9.1 for a reason; everything’s spotless, the kitchenette’s stocked if you want to whip up pasta from the Rialto market (pro tip: grab some fresh squid early, before the lines form), and there’s even a small laundry setup, which saved me during a rainy spell. That said, it’s not perfect – the stairs can be a hike with luggage (no elevator, classic Venice issue), and if you’re a light sleeper, the square gets lively on weekends with folks spilling out from the nearby osterias. But hey, that’s part of the authenticity, right? I mean, you’re in the heart of San Polo, steps from the Frari church and its Titian masterpieces, or a quick walk to the traghetto across the Grand Canal – way better than shelling out for a water taxi.
Look, if you’re plotting a Venice trip and want something that feels intimate yet polished, without the mega-hotel crowds, book the Romantic Sky Apartment. It’s ideal for couples – that terrace view at dusk? Unbeatable for whispering sweet nothings – or even solo travelers like me who appreciate the quiet hours after 10 p.m. when the square winds down. Just time it for shoulder season to avoid the peak summer bustle, and you’ll thank me later. I’ve bounced around plenty of spots in Venice, but this one lingers – sort of like the aftertaste of a good spritz.

Great position. Lovely apartment with everything needed. Check in/check out super simple and good tips on where to eat, nice friendly welcome. All messages and questions were replied immediately. Thank you!

The apartment had absolutely everything you'd need. Can't fault it at all. Came and met us to take us to the apartment from campo san polo. They even offered the use of a wheelchair.
What could be improved: Lol the stairs, but that's on me. It is a "sky" apartment.Todd from Canada – 27 February 2025 (10/10)
This is a really exceptional flat with good vibes in a great location, central to everything. Full of old and cozy character, but very modern, cool, and convenient at the same time. The hostess Cri was fantastic with communication and picking up the keys and getting an intro to the flat was easy. There's quite the staircase to get to the 1st floor so not a place for anyone with mobility issues. It's bigger than it looks in the photos, has a washing machine, and the pull out sofa is actually really comfy (which is rare). There are 2 supermarkets about a 5 min walk away in opposite directions. We would definetly stay here again, everything was great.
What could be improved: The only thing I could suggest are maybe some basic English instructions for how to use the washing machine. I'm a pretty technical guy but with the language barrier it took a long time to figure out!Vicki from China – 1 January 2025 (8/10)
Nice place and nice landlord/landlady, cosy.
What could be improved: No recycling bins but apparently the management team expect guests to recycle without telling the guests at first.
The employee who comes to pick us up in the night at the beginning was nice. But I honestly do not understand the last message that the manager complained us about being messy. It’s not our first time experience on booking and frankly inside they do not have trash bins for recycling as in Swiss.Laura from Canada – 5 October 2024 (8/10)
Nice to have a space especially since weather was bad .Beautiful place and very clean . Nice and quiet as well , felt very safe.
What could be improved: There is a charge for cleaning but we were told to ensure garbage was taken out . The stairs going up to apartment are very steep to haul luggage .
It would have been nice to have more than one wine glass and perhaps some coffee so we didn’t have to run out and purchase on arrival.Jelena from United States – 18 July 2024 (10/10)
Great location!
We stayed here for 4 nights in the summer. The apartment was very spacious, air conditioned and clean. We really appreciated the convenient location of the apartment, and would return frequently to cool off and/or refresh from the summer heat. The hosts met us to give us the keys and communicated well ahead of our trip. Our flights were delayed 5+ hours and they were very accomodating. Would stay here again, and highly recommend.
Note: One flight of stairs.Peter from Australia – 12 June 2024 (10/10)
Great place, very comfortable & cosy.
Host was more than curious & helpful.
What could be improved: The stairs, & they are steepKelee from United States – 11 June 2024 (10/10)
Clean, modern, good location, kitchen, washing machine
What could be improved: People in apartment across the hall were loud, often into the night. Additionally, throughout the night we heard people yelling in the nearby piazza and street.
There were about 30 steps up to the apartment. This needs to be made clear for people who have difficulty managing steps.Jennifer from United States – 22 May 2024 (10/10)
Everything. Location was perfect. Walking distance to everything we needed. The staff were so incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. The flat itself was spectacular. A perfect way to end our honeymoon. We plan to come back to stay here every time we come to Venice.
What could be improved: No complaints at all.Aikaterini from Greece – 21 March 2024 (10/10)
