San Marco White Apartment Overview

First Impressions

Walking through the narrow Venetian alleys to reach San Marco White Apartment, you’ll probably wonder if you’re going the right way — until you realize you’re literally steps from St. Mark’s Square. This three-star property sits in one of those classic Venetian buildings where the entrance feels almost secretive, tucked away on a quiet street that somehow puts you right in the thick of everything. The apartment-style setup means you’re getting more of a local living experience than a traditional hotel stay, which honestly feels perfect for Venice.

Location & Neighborhood

I mean, you really can’t get more central than this. The San Marco district location puts you about a two-minute walk from St. Mark’s Basilica and the Doge’s Palace — I’m talking seriously close. You know what’s great though? Despite being in the absolute heart of Venice, the actual street is surprisingly peaceful. You’ll hear the distant hum of tourists during the day, but step inside and it’s remarkably quiet. The Rialto Bridge is just a pleasant stroll away, and you’re perfectly positioned to explore both sides of the Grand Canal without feeling like you need to plan your day around transportation.

The Space

The apartment itself has this clean, minimalist aesthetic that works really well in Venice — white walls, simple furnishings, and enough space to actually unpack your suitcase (which isn’t always a given in this city). What I appreciated most was having a proper kitchenette; you can grab fresh ingredients from the Rialto market and prepare simple meals, which saves both money and time. The bathroom is compact but well-designed, and there’s decent storage throughout. It’s not fancy, but everything feels thoughtfully arranged and genuinely comfortable.

Daily Life

Having stayed here, I can tell you the apartment setup changes how you experience Venice. Instead of rushing back to a hotel lobby, you actually feel like you’re living in the city for a few days. The neighborhood has this perfect mix — touristy enough that restaurants and shops stay open reasonable hours, but residential enough that you’ll see locals going about their daily routines. Morning coffee runs become part of your routine, and you’ll probably find yourself taking different routes back each evening just because you can explore without worrying about getting too lost.

Why Guests Love It

Couples consistently rate this place highly, and it makes complete sense — there’s something romantic about having your own little Venetian pied-à-terre right in San Marco. The location score of 9.7 isn’t just marketing fluff; you’re genuinely in the sweet spot where everything important is walkable, but you’re not dealing with the chaos of staying directly on a major tourist thoroughfare. Plus, the apartment format gives you flexibility that traditional hotels don’t — you can come and go as you please, store leftovers, and really settle in. For the price point and location, it delivers exactly what most people want from a Venice stay.

Reviews of San Marco White Apartment

  • Ildikó from Hungary – 24 February 2025 (9/10)

    Tetszett a disajn.

What could be improved: Olyan nem volt.

  • Ella from Belgium – 8 November 2024 (8/10)

Comfortable bed. Clean apartment. Good location. Friendly host.

What could be improved: No soap/shampoo in the bathroom

  • Stewart from United Kingdom – 7 November 2023 (9/10)

This apartment was perfect for my little family, great space and great quiet location, not too far from any major tourist attraction.
The host was very warm, friendly and helpful.
My little boy was very taken by her.
It is on the grand canal which my little boy loved and well.

What could be improved: There weren't any basics apart from what was left over by previous people. This was a bit of a nuisance as we had arrived late evening then had to go out to grab the basics from the shop which was about a 5-10 walk however the owner happily walked us there.

  • Rowena from United Kingdom – 29 August 2023 (9/10)

The apartment was beautifully furnished and very central to everything. It was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The air conditioning was an added bonus as it was extremely hot when we were there. We would definitely return here and can highly recommend it.

What could be improved: If Grazia hadn’t met us at the water bus stop we would not have found our way to the Apartment. It is tucked away down one of the many alleyways in Venice. But very quiet.

  • Richard from United Kingdom – 22 August 2023 (9/10)

The location was excellent, it was clean, comfortable and well stocked. It was very easy to reach the apartment from the train station where we arrived into – a short hop on number 2 line, then a very short walk from the stop at San Samuele. It was nice to be met at the stop by Grace, who was delightful and very helpful, as we would never have found the place in the rabbit warren that is Venice! However, once found, it was very easy to find again.

What could be improved: It would have been nice to have had some tea bags on arrival, and maybe some milk, but since I travel with teabags and the place was well located for shops, this was not an issue!

  • Anonymous from United Kingdom – 12 May 2023 (9/10)

    excellent location for exploring Venice.
    spotless apartment and well equipped.

the owner kindly met us at the ferry stop to take us there. this helped as we didn’t know the city yet.

felt like we experienced something of living in Venice

    What could be improved: nothing

  • Crystal from United Kingdom – 7 May 2023 (8/10)

Very big living space, kitchen complete with plates, bowls, cups, utensils etc.

What could be improved: Bathroom had no toiletries. Location was incredibly difficult to find and had to wait a bit for the caretaker to come let us in – even after letting her know 30mins before that we were on our way. Floors were quite dirty

  • Joanne from United States – 31 March 2023 (8/10)

Great location. Beautiful old palazzo carved into flats with interior courtyard. Very large apartment with 2 large bedrooms with comfy beds. Really clean, new modern feeling space which would undoubtedly appeal to most, but I would have liked some age and character on the inside to match the beautiful very old building

What could be improved: Strange to say but there were mosquitoes in the apartment in march even though windows were always closed. I wish there had been some basic supplies in the kitchen; the only reason we rented an apartment was to be able to cook!

  • Roberta from United Kingdom – 26 June 2022 (9/10)

What a fantastic place to stay! Very spacious, modern and great location. The hosts go above and beyond expectations to make your stay one of a kind. There’s access to a lovely jetty which was great to have breakfast or drinks on. Could not recommend this place enough to stay while visiting Venice

What could be improved: Nothing. Couldn’t be improved

  • Nicolas from France – 8 May 2022 (9/10)

Excellent welcoming and flexibility from the guest.
Good location in a very quiet and calm spot.
Spacious for a family of 4 and all equipments needed available.
    We very strongly recommend !
