Sansamuele Apartment Overview
First Impressions
Walking through the narrow Venetian streets to find Sansamuele Apartment honestly feels like you’re following a treasure map — and when you finally arrive at Salizada Malipiero, you realize you’ve struck gold. This three-star property sits right in the San Marco district, which means you’re literally in the beating heart of Venice. I mean, when couples are rating the location a 9.2 out of 10, you know there’s something special about where you’ll be staying.
The Heart of Venice
What really gets me about this place is how it manages to put you in the absolute center of everything without feeling touristy or overwhelming. You’re steps away from St. Mark’s Square, but tucked into this quieter residential street where actual Venetians live and work. The location score of 9.0 isn’t just a number — it’s the difference between spending your morning coffee budget on water taxi rides or actually enjoying that perfect cappuccino around the corner. You can walk to the Rialto Bridge, pop over to the Doge’s Palace, or just wander the maze of canals without any real plan.
The Apartment Experience
This isn’t your typical hotel room situation — you’re getting a proper apartment setup that actually makes sense for Venice. The space feels authentically Venetian with those characteristic touches you’d expect, but updated enough that you’re not dealing with quirky plumbing or dodgy WiFi. What I really appreciate is how the kitchen gives you options — sometimes you want to grab fresh ingredients from the local markets and make a simple meal, especially when restaurant prices in this area can add up quickly.
Living Like a Local
There’s something about staying in an apartment in Venice that changes the whole experience. You’re not just passing through — you’re temporarily living in one of the world’s most unique cities. The morning routine becomes part of the adventure: stepping out to grab fresh bread, figuring out which bridge leads where, discovering that tiny osteria that doesn’t show up in guidebooks. The fact that couples particularly love this location tells you everything — it’s romantic without being cliché, central without being chaotic.
Why Guests Love It
Honestly, the 7.5 rating combined with that stellar location score tells the real story here. This isn’t about fancy amenities or over-the-top service — it’s about being exactly where you want to be in Venice, with enough space and comfort to actually enjoy it. You’re paying for position and authenticity, which in a city like Venice is worth its weight in gold. When you can walk to everything that matters and still retreat to a quiet street at the end of the day, you’ve found that sweet spot that makes a Venice trip memorable rather than just another tourist checklist.
Apartments in Venice suit art students with beam-lined lofts, courtyard wells, and quiet campi.

Reviews of Sansamuele Apartment
Randy from United States – 19 October 2024 (8/10)
Nives was great. She was extremely accommodating and helpful. The kitchen was perfect: fully stocked with pots, plates, cups, etc. We loved the location which was quiet and not a street where a ton of tourist traveled through. The location was close to both the San Samuele and San Angelo stations. The apartment provided great value.
What could be improved: I don't have any major dislikes. Everything worked as advertised. The location is a 15-20 minute walk to Saint Mark's, but is very central if you are visiting other areas. You are asked to put out the trash and recycling each morning, but it was easy and not a big deal.Rakijl from Netherlands – 31 July 2024 (9/10)
Loved the location, place was clean and we had the place for our own. I can recommend the place.
Gary from Australia – 12 June 2024 (9/10)
The location was about 50 metres from the water taxi station.
The apartment felt like a home away from home, with everything we needed.
The apartment was an easy walk from all of the Venice attractions.Octavia from United Kingdom – 16 April 2024 (9/10)
Nive, our host, was very communicative. Unfortunately, we did not meet him on this occasion but via text he was very lovely. The key scenario was simple. The location of the apartment was amazing- tucked away in the 'Academia' neighbourhood – you can see the Grand Canal from the end of our little street. A short and scenic walk to St. Marks over beautiful, tiny bridges and neatly kept streets. A small plaza, Campo Santo Stefano, was less that 5 minutes away with lovely restaurants and a very nice atmosphere in the evening.
The apartment – has everything you need, basic, but it suited our criteria as we only really used it as a base for sleeping and spent all our days out and exploring. WIFI was good, bathroom had all the towels we needed. It was very cool which in the heat we really appreciated.
We would absolutely stay here again.
What could be improved: Nothing – everything was perfect!Tomislav from Croatia – 12 November 2023 (9/10)
The location of this accommodation is excellent for few days of exploration of the city centre. It is within easy reach from Piazza San Marco and very short distance from Campo Santo Stefano and the Accademia. The place is charming, fairly small, but sufficiently comfortable for few days of touring the city of Venice.
What could be improved: The first day there was no hot water, but the host quickly resolved the problem once notified.Jeffreym from United Kingdom – 8 November 2023 (9/10)
Superb value 10/10! Much more space and facilities than a hotel room.
About 50 metres from San Samuel waterbus stop, gentle walks to St.Mark's Square & Rialto Bridge, but need Google Maps.
Helpful manager, pleasant cleaner.
What could be improved: A microwave oven might have been useful.Suzanne from Ireland – 30 September 2023 (8/10)
Excellent location. Just metres from Vaporetta stop.
Clean
What could be improved: bedroom is cramped …very little space around the bed.
No hand soap in bathroom.
Not big issues and we would happily returnSarah from United Kingdom – 20 June 2023 (9/10)
Location perfect for water taxis and sightseeing.
What could be improved: It could be helpful if a local area map was provided for guests, showing nearest supermarket, pharmacy etc.Barbara from United Kingdom – 1 May 2023 (8/10)
Lovely apartment in the heart of Venice, perfectly connected and close to all the amenities, 50 meters from the traghetto stop.
Nice kitchen we cooked a couple of times during our stay, we had a little problem with the heaters but it was promptly solved in less then an hours.
The place is much nicer than in the pictures, all new fornitures and quite spacious living room l would recommend to anyone.Wendy from New Zealand – 13 September 2022 (9/10)
A perfect little apartment in an old Venetian house close to two Vaporetto stops, Accademia bridge and San Marco, without souvenir stalls or noise! Not too hot in the middle of summer thanks to the thick walls and small windows. Really enjoyed our stay!
Tip about arrival: Vaporetto 2 stops directly at San Samuele but doesn't run early/late, simply take Vaporetto 1 to Sant Angelo close by and make sure you know the address and way, as GPS misled us by about 30 metres into the wrong alley.
What could be improved: We forgot to bring our own shampoo (none provided).
