Serendipity apartment Overview

First Impressions

Walking down Calle Scuola on Giudecca island, you’d almost miss Serendipity apartment if you weren’t looking for it — and honestly, that’s part of its charm. This three-star gem sits quietly away from the tourist chaos of San Marco, tucked into one of Venice’s most authentic neighborhoods. The moment you step inside, there’s this immediate sense of calm that you just don’t get in the main city. It’s like finding a secret that most visitors never discover, which explains why it scores an impressive 9.6 rating from guests who’ve actually stayed here.

The Giudecca Advantage

Here’s what I love about this location — you’re technically still in Venice, but you feel worlds away from the crowds. Giudecca has this residential vibe that’s refreshing after battling through packed streets and overpriced tourist traps. The vaporetto ride across the canal takes maybe five minutes, but it’s like crossing into a different era of the city. Couples absolutely adore this spot (they rate the location 9.5), and I get why — there’s something romantic about having your own little corner of Venice while still being able to hop over to St. Mark’s Square whenever you want.

The Space Itself

The apartment feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a typical hotel room, which is exactly what you want in Venice. Everything’s been thoughtfully arranged without being fussy about it. You know what struck me most? The attention to practical details — proper storage space, a kitchen area that actually works, and windows that frame views you won’t find in guidebooks. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but there’s a refined comfort here that makes you want to linger over morning coffee instead of rushing out to tick off sightseeing boxes.

Getting Around

The vaporetto stop is close enough that you’re never stranded, but far enough that you’re not dealing with constant tourist foot traffic outside your door. I mean, this is Venice — you’re going to do a fair bit of walking and boat-hopping regardless of where you stay. But from Serendipity apartment, those little journeys feel more like part of the adventure rather than a necessary evil. Plus, Giudecca has some genuinely good local restaurants that haven’t been completely discovered by the tour groups yet.

Why Guests Love It

That 9.6 location score isn’t just numbers — it reflects something real about this place. Guests consistently mention feeling like they’ve found “the real Venice” while staying here, away from the selfie sticks and overpriced spritz bars. The apartment gives you space to breathe and actually experience the city rather than just survive it. For couples especially, there’s something magical about having this peaceful retreat to return to after days spent exploring. It’s the kind of place that makes you understand why people fall in love with Venice in the first place, before it became quite so… well, touristy.

Great Stay with a Small Detail to Improve

The apartment was a fantastic choice! The host was very communicative and helpful, making everything smooth from check-in to check-out. Any questions we had were answered quickly and clearly.

A really nice touch was the complimentary breakfast package—honey, Nutella, toast, and jam. It was a great way to start the day without having to rush out immediately.

The apartment itself was very clean, which we really appreciated. However, the only downside was the presence of used cleaning sponges. A small detail, but fresh ones would be a better option.

The location is also excellent—just a five-minute walk to the water bus station, making it very easy to reach the main Venice Island.

Overall, a great stay with just one small thing to improve!

Serena was a great host. We loved the apartment – so comfortable, spacious and well-appointed. Very cool having a view over a canal! Some good restaurants and a supermarket very nearby, plus was easy to get over to the main island.

Perfect location. 10 min walk to the Palanca Port for Vaporetto. Very clean apartment. Serena, the owner let us know about an upcoming public transportation strike in Venice and give us some valuable information.

Serena was a delight to deal with. The apartment was lovely and had everything we needed. We were happy to be a little bit away from the hustle and bustle of Venice but with quick and easy access to everything using the vaporetto.

Very pleasant impressions of the place and the owner. Thanks to Serena, she met us at the station and took us to the apartment. She told about the city and recommended interesting locations, including a great restaurant. The apartment is even more beautiful than in the photo. Everything is new, smells and blooms. The location is great too! Thank you for your hospitality and kindness. <3 Sergejs and Katrīne
