The three-star property sits right on Giudecca island — honestly, one of my favorite spots in the entire city because it feels like you’ve discovered Venice’s best-kept secret. There’s something refreshing about stepping off the vaporetto here, away from the crowds that clog San Marco, and finding yourself in what feels like a genuine Venetian neighborhood where locals actually live and work.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s what I love about Giudecca — you’re literally a five-minute boat ride from St. Mark’s Square, but it feels like you’re in a completely different world. The waterfront promenade where Stella Marina 6 sits is perfect for evening strolls, and you know what? Some of the best sunset views of Venice happen right from this stretch. Couples seem to figure this out pretty quickly (the hotel gets rave reviews from romantic travelers), and I can see why. The vaporetto stop is practically at your doorstep, so getting around is actually easier than staying in the maze of central Venice where you’re constantly getting lost in narrow alleys.

The Rooms

The accommodations here strike that sweet spot between comfort and authenticity that’s honestly hard to find in Venice these days. You’re not getting palace-level opulence — this is a three-star after all — but the rooms feel thoughtfully designed rather than just functional. Many have those classic Venetian touches you hope for without feeling like a theme park version of Italy. I mean, when you’re paying Venice prices, you want to feel like you’re actually in Venice, not some generic hotel that could be anywhere.

Getting Around

What really sold me on this location is how it solves the Venice logistics puzzle. You can hop on the Giudecca line and be at San Marco in minutes, or take the longer route around to see the city from the water — which, let’s be honest, never gets old. The thing about staying on Giudecca is that you get to experience that magical moment every evening when you return “home” across the lagoon, watching the city light up as the day-trippers head back to the mainland. It’s like having a private retreat that happens to be in one of the world’s most beautiful cities.

  After traveling Italy for a week, coming to Stella Marina felt like home: a proper kitchen, washing machine, two bedrooms (one lofted) and two bathrooms. Check-in was a breeze and the water taxi provided a fun and easy-to-use activity. The property is well maintained and had everything we needed.

  Sehr schönes, geräumiges und ruhiges Apartment. Die Gastgeber waren ausgesprochen freundlich und hilfsbereit und haben schnell geantwortet. Uns hat vor allem die große Terrasse gefallen!

  The owner (Madam Chritina) was wonderful host …..was trying calling me before arrival. And I was late almost 1 hr before checking in……but found her waiting for me with marvellous reception with excellent details about facility and the city tour guide.
  The facility is wonderful by all means 25 min. To vinice centre . Low cost compared to others.
  I will stay in same place if I come again to Venice ……guys….don't miss this place otherwise you will be sorry

  It is located on the quiet island of Giudecca, a vaperetto ride away from the crowds in S. Marco. There are excellent restaurants within walking distance as well as delicious bakeries. If you want, you can prepare meals in a fully equipped kitchen and dine in a delightful private courtyard.
  
  What could be improved: Bath soap supply was meager— one tiny bar for each bathroom. Better to bring your own, if you like lather.
