Hotel San Luca Venezia Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Hotel San Luca Venezia feels like discovering one of those hidden gems that locals actually know about. It’s tucked away on Calle Dei Fabbri in San Marco, and honestly, the location alone makes this three-star property punch way above its weight. You know how some hotels feel generic? This one doesn’t — there’s something genuinely Venetian about the whole experience that makes you feel like you’ve found the real deal.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s what I love about staying here — you’re literally in the heart of Venice, but on a quieter side street that doesn’t get the crazy foot traffic of the main thoroughfares. The Rialto Bridge is just a few minutes’ walk, and you can reach St. Mark’s Square without breaking a sweat. I mean, couples consistently rate this location 9.5 out of 10, and after staying here, I totally get why. You’re close enough to everything that matters, but you can actually get some sleep at night without the constant chatter of late-night tourists right outside your window.
The Room Experience
The rooms here are what you’d expect from a solid three-star in Venice — not huge, but thoughtfully designed and actually comfortable. My room had this lovely view of a quiet canal (though not all do, so ask when booking), and the bed was surprisingly good quality. The bathroom was compact but functional, with decent water pressure — something you definitely can’t take for granted in older Venetian buildings. What really impressed me was how well-maintained everything felt, from the air conditioning that actually worked to the WiFi that didn’t cut out every five minutes.
Daily Rhythms
Breakfast happens in a cozy little space that feels more like a neighborhood café than a hotel dining room. It’s nothing fancy — typical Italian continental spread with good coffee and fresh pastries — but the staff genuinely seems to care about making sure you’re set for the day. They’re also incredibly helpful with directions and recommendations, which matters more than you’d think when you’re navigating Venice’s maze of streets and bridges. The front desk folks actually know the neighborhood well and can point you toward the less touristy spots.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t a high-end property, and it doesn’t pretend to be one. What it offers is solid value in an absolutely prime location with service that feels personal rather than corporate. The fact that it consistently gets high marks from couples tells you something — it’s the kind of place where you can base yourself for exploring Venice without feeling like you’re missing out on the authentic experience. You’re paying for location and reliability here, and honestly, in a city like Venice where a bad location can make or break your trip, that’s exactly what you want.
Hotel in Venice reservations spike before Redentore fireworks when the lagoon fills with floating dinners.

Easy checkin with super friendly staff. The room was very nice and cute. Bathroom clean and good. Kettle and fridge in the room. Refreshments (coffee/ biscuits) downstairs were a great touch. They offered to store our suitcases after check out (wasn’t needed for us). Great location- very close to St Marks and great food and shops around.
What could be improved: A bit difficult to walk there from the train station but doable, or you could take the water bus (ferry). No lift up to room if that is a deal breaker.Paul from United Kingdom – 23 November 2024 (9/10)
Clean and comfortable.

Nice location, near to whatever, but very crowded. Nice decor, big bed, good space,
very helpful staff.
What could be improved: Thin walls, no sound proof. We woke up every morning around 5-6 when they were collecting garbages. so noisy!
only stairs. But helpful staff helped out with the checkinAmy from New Zealand – 29 August 2024 (9/10)
The staff were so welcoming and kind. We heard a few weird sounds and called reception and the owner came to sit with us for a bit to make sure everything was okay! We loved getting to watch gondolas go by all day from our window
What could be improved: That the reception is about 30m down the street at another hotel. It wasn’t an issue and we didn’t mind this, but we just personally prefer having reception close by in caseGillian from Australia – 1 August 2024 (8/10)
Excellent staff and location!
We will visit again, thank you ☺️Peter from United Kingdom – 12 July 2024 (7/10)
I loved the location. The hotel is very nice and the staff at reception were very helpful.
What could be improved: Unfortunately it is company policy (apparently)to start cleaning the rooms around 8:30am and the staff have no consideration for people still sleeping when check out is at 11am. They were very noisy to say the least. I advise ear plugs if you require a lay in..Maria from Iceland – 20 June 2024 (9/10)

The hotel was located literally at the city centre! Room was clean and cozy, there is available kitchen for the guests where I can make tea. Very friendly staff.
What could be improved: Not applicable.
