Monolocale La Corte Biennale Overview
First Impressions
Walking through the narrow streets of Castello to find Monolocale La Corte Biennale, you’ll honestly feel like you’re discovering one of Venice’s best-kept secrets. This three-star property sits tucked away in what locals know is the most authentic part of the city — far enough from the tourist chaos but close enough that you can still hear the gentle lapping of canal water nearby. The building itself has that weathered Venetian charm that makes you want to run your fingers along the old stone walls.
The Space
The apartment is exactly what it says — a monolocale, which means everything you need is cleverly arranged in one well-designed space. I mean, when you’re in Venice, you’re not spending much time indoors anyway, right? The room feels surprisingly spacious for what it is, with high ceilings that give you breathing space and windows that actually let in proper light. There’s a compact kitchenette that’s perfect for making morning coffee or storing those amazing pastries you’ll inevitably buy from the local bakery around the corner.
Location Magic
Here’s what you need to know about Castello — it’s where Venetians actually live and work. You’re literally steps away from the Biennale gardens (hence the name), and honestly, this location gives you the best of both worlds. Couples absolutely love it here, and I can see why — there’s something incredibly romantic about wandering these quieter streets in the evening, then being able to reach San Marco in about ten minutes when you want the full Venice experience. The Arsenale is practically next door, which means you’re in the heart of Venice’s maritime history.
Neighborhood Gems
What I really appreciate about staying here is how you stumble upon the real Venice. There’s this fantastic local osteria just two streets over where you’ll hear more Italian than English — always a good sign. The morning routine becomes part of the experience too; you’ll find yourself shopping for fresh bread and fruit at the small markets nearby, something you just can’t do when you’re stuck in the touristy areas. Plus, the vaporetto stops are close enough that getting around the lagoon is actually easy, not the nightmare it can be from some hotels.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t about fancy amenities or room service — it’s about feeling like you’re living in Venice rather than just visiting it. The 8.8 rating makes perfect sense when you experience how this place lets you settle into the rhythm of the city. You wake up to the sounds of real Venetian life, not tour groups, and that’s honestly priceless. The value here is exceptional too — you’re getting an authentic Venice experience in one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods without paying San Marco prices. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself planning your next Venice trip before you’ve even left.

Reviews of Monolocale La Corte Biennale
Enzo from United States – 9 March 2025 (9/10)
We liked how the neighborhood was quiet but also only a short walk from the busier parts of Venice. The place was comfortable and the host was very hospitable.
Dunja13 from Estonia – 28 February 2025 (9/10)
Very clean and cozy studio-apartment with kitchen and bathroom. It was great to find essentials like coffee, sugar, and salt in the kitchen, along with some sweet snacks to welcome us. It was possible to regulate rooms temperature – very useful as weather was rainy and humid.
Jolanta from Lithuania – 3 January 2025 (9/10)
A cozy and well-equipped apartment in a quiet, lovely part of Venice. Thoughtful touches like coffee, tea, and a small yard made the stay even better. Excellent value for the price!
Paul from United Kingdom – 23 December 2024 (9/10)
The location was really nice and close to a main street with plenty of cafes/restaurants/bars and shops, close location to water bus stops and only a 15-20 minutes walk towards San Marco.
Jose_lima from Portugal – 25 August 2024 (9/10)
The host was very helpful, and the apartment was prátical and had everything necessary for 2 people. I've been in Venice several times and this neighbourhood is indeed the best place to stay.

The house was great! It had everything we needed inside. A big plus was the private bathroom because in Venice not many apartments have one, and for us this was important. The room was clean and beautiful. It was quite comfortable and I liked a lot the small yard. We enjoyed our breakfast every morning there, outside of the apartment but with our privacy and this is how we started our days there! The location was nice. 5 minutes walking from piazza Di Marco but everything was cheaper in the neighborhood there. Also I liked that it was near the green side of Venice. I liked walking there in sunset. Giulia was very helpful with whatever we asked or wanted! Thank you Giulia!
I would definitely suggest that apartment and I would stay there again if I came back in Venice, which I hope I do.Danguolė from Lithuania – 3 July 2024 (9/10)

Monolocale was a charm! We liked everything. The apartment is spacious enough for two people, well equipped with everything you may need. Comfortable bed, high pressure in the shower, efficient air conditioning, that's important in Venice! And all very, very quiet. Peaceful sleep at night. Location in perfect, Venice Biennale is two minutes away, good restaurants nearby as well. Nearest supermarket is also very close. We didn't have any problem finding the place, short walk from nearest vaporetto stop ( Giardini Biennale ).
What could be improved: NothingMelanie from Canada – 14 October 2023 (8/10)
Location – about 20 min fast walk to st marks square and nice and quiet area. Close to a decent grocery store. The little outdoor courtyard was great. We ate dinner outside each night. Easy check in.
What could be improved: The bed was a pullout which was fine and as expected. Squeaky when getting on and off as other people have mentioned but no issues during the night as we don’t move around a lot.
