Ca Bea Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Ca Bea feels like discovering a well-kept secret in the heart of Dorsoduro. This three-star boutique property sits tucked away on a quiet canal-side street, and honestly, you’d walk right past it if you weren’t looking. The entrance is understated in that perfectly Venetian way — no flashy signs or tourist traps, just a charming doorway that opens into something genuinely special. I mean, when a place scores a 9 out of 10 from guests, you know they’re doing something right.

Location & Neighborhood

Dorsoduro is hands down my favorite sestiere in Venice, and Ca Bea’s position here is absolutely perfect. You’re literally a five-minute walk from the Peggy Guggenheim Collection and maybe ten minutes to the Accademia Bridge — but here’s the thing, you’re far enough from the main tourist chaos that you can actually breathe. The neighborhood has this authentic residential feel where you’ll see locals doing their grocery shopping and kids playing in the campos. Couples especially seem to love wandering these quieter streets together (they’ve rated the location 9.2 for romantic getaways, which honestly doesn’t surprise me at all).

The Room Experience

The rooms at Ca Bea are what I’d call “perfectly sized” for Venice — which means they’re compact but incredibly well thought out. What really struck me was how comfortable the beds are; guests consistently rave about getting amazing sleep here, and after spending a night, I totally get it. The mattresses are firm but not hard, and the linens feel genuinely nice against your skin. Each room has its own character too — some overlook the canal (you’ll hear the gentle lapping of water), while others face the internal courtyard where it’s completely peaceful.

Daily Life at the Hotel

The staff here operates more like friendly locals than hotel employees, which creates this wonderful relaxed atmosphere. They’ll give you actual useful recommendations — not just the obvious tourist spots but places where Venetians actually go for cicchetti or a decent coffee. The building itself has that lived-in charm you find in converted Venetian palazzos, with original details that remind you you’re staying in a piece of history. There’s no pretense here, just genuine hospitality and attention to the details that actually matter when you’re exploring Venice all day.

Why Guests Love It

What keeps people coming back to Ca Bea is this perfect balance of location, comfort, and authenticity. You’re staying in one of Venice’s most desirable neighborhoods without paying five-star prices, and the quality of sleep you’ll get here (seriously, those beds) means you’ll actually have energy for all the walking Venice demands. It’s the kind of place where you feel like a temporary local rather than just another tourist — and in a city that can sometimes feel overwhelming, that sense of having a genuine home base is absolutely priceless.

Savvy travelers reserve a hotel in Venice before acqua alta alerts to snag suites with private fondaco docks.

We loved the location, hidden on the quiet streets but not far from some amazing food and views. The room was spacious and comfortable, especially the large bed!

What could be improved: We loved everything!

  • Stansychevskyi from Canada – 15 October 2024 (9/10)

Beautiful and very clean rooms, extremely polite hosts, and a quite neighborhood not too far from main Venice attractions. What else can you ask for? Lots of cafes and restaurants nearby, including grocery stores. The beds were comfy and we truly enjoyed our short, but great stay at Ca Bea. Thank you 🙂

We truly enjoyed everything—the wonderful location, the cozy room, and especially the personalized guide which we found in room. It was such an amazing resource, full of local insights and recommendations. We followed suggestions and discovered some truly lovely places to visit, try, and explore. It made our experience in Venice all the more special.

We can’t wait to return and will definitely recommend your place.

  • Craig from Australia – 11 October 2024 (8/10)

Great for our one night stay. It’s a nice quiet spot compared to the madness of San Marco but a bit of a walk to get to the main tourist sights. That did t bother us but may be a problem for some. Our host was always responsive and an excellent help throughout our stay and allowing us to keep our bags on the property after check out was such a bonus.

  • Yizhou from Sweden – 9 October 2024 (9/10)

Quite place and clean room. Nice to spend leisure time here.

  • Andrew from United States – 3 October 2024 (9/10)

Excellent location, walking distance to the central parking, good restaurants, and vaporetto lines; rooms are large (for Venice), well appointed, and very clean; and host Federico is easily accessible, very pleasant, and helpful with suggestions; excellent stay!

What could be improved: Nothing to note

  • Beatriz from Spain – 3 October 2024 (9/10)

Ca Bea is a great place to spend a few days on the island, it is close to all the best, and in a quiet place.
Federico helped us with everything we needed and gave us a guide to the city that included everything we needed.

What could be improved: The bathroom sometimes smelled but that must be normal for the canals.
The room was a little dusty

  • Ambrosonok from Poland – 28 September 2024 (9/10)

Good room, has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The location is convenient, it is in a quiet and cozy area, you can quickly get to the center. There are restaurants, cafes and shops nearby. Federico is very nice and helpful. He also gave recommendations on which restaurants and cafes to go to, which was very helpful

  • Luke from United Kingdom – 24 September 2024 (8/10)

Nice room in a good part of venice, slightly away from the touristy chaos but still with nice restaurants nearby
