Campo San Filippo e Giacomo is one of those squares where locals actually hang out, and you’ll find yourself just a few minutes’ walk from San Marco without dealing with the constant crowds. The narrow streets around Locanda Correr wind toward hidden gems — little wine bars, artisan shops, and those perfect Instagram-worthy bridges that somehow still feel undiscovered. You know what’s really convenient? You can easily walk to the major sights, but when you want to escape the tourist masses, you just duck back into this quieter corner of Castello.

The Rooms

The accommodations strike that sweet spot between comfort and character that’s honestly hard to find in Venice. My room had those classic Venetian touches — think rich fabrics and traditional furnishings — but everything felt fresh and well-maintained. The space wasn’t huge (this is Venice, after all), but it was thoughtfully designed with good storage and a comfortable bed. What impressed me most was how quiet it was at night, despite being so centrally located. The windows actually open properly, which might sound minor but makes such a difference when you want that fresh lagoon breeze.

Breakfast Experience

Breakfast here is actually quite impressive for a three-star property. They offer a proper buffet with continental and Italian options, plus they’re really good about accommodating gluten-free needs if that’s important to you. I mean, you get the usual pastries and coffee (the coffee is solid, by the way), but there are also local touches that show they care about the details. The breakfast room has a nice atmosphere — not too formal, but pleasant enough that you’ll want to linger over your cappuccino while planning your day.

  Great location, not far from St. Marks Square and water transportation. Room was clean and comfortable. Nice bathroom. It said double bed, but it was 2 twins pushed together – perfect for me and my daughter.
  
  What could be improved: Hotel was difficult to find. They never told us to check in at Hotel Costello. We were looking for Locanda Correr. Long flight of stairs to get to our room which was tough with all our luggage, but the son helped us take one of the bags up the stairs. Breakfast was disappointing for 10 euro, so we didn’t purchase it – no eggs, no fruit. Would have liked drapes that covered the whole window to block the morning sun.

  Didn't opt for breakfast at the hotel but staff advised us that we could eat there if we liked. Location was great, about 5 mins from Piazza San Marco and really quiet at night.

  We needed to check in/out at another hotel (10 meters from our hotel). So, when it said 24-hour desk, it meant the other hotel. Our hotel had no desk at all.

  Location! And great value for price, it's right next to Piaza San Marco! Very close to the vaporetto stop, which is great!
  
  What could be improved: There's a huge stairwell to get to the room, with suitcases it's hard to go up and down. It's also a little hard to find because the check-in is in a property next door but staff are super friendly so it wasn't hard at all.
