Hotel Description
You know, the first time I stumbled upon the Venetian Apartments, I was dragging my suitcase over those uneven cobblestones in San Marco, dodging the afternoon crowds spilling out from Piazza San Marco – honestly, it’s a bit of a workout if you’re not used to Venice’s no-cars policy. Check-in’s right at the apartments themselves, which are scattered around different spots in the neighborhood, so make sure you’ve got the exact address pinned on your phone; mine was tucked down a narrow calle off Campo San Fantin, just a stone’s throw from the La Fenice opera house. I mean, it’s not like a big hotel lobby – more like meeting a friendly local rep who hands over the keys and gives you the lowdown on where to grab the best cicchetti nearby. The place feels authentically Venetian, with these old palazzo buildings converted into apartments that have that mix of creaky wooden floors and exposed beams – you can almost smell the faint salty tang of the lagoon seeping through the windows, especially in the evenings when the water taxis hum past.
What really sets these apartments apart, though – and I say this after staying in a few spots around Venice – is how they let you live like a semi-local without the full-on hassle of renting from some shady Airbnb host. My unit was a cozy two-bedroom with a little kitchenette stocked with basics (think fresh espresso maker and a fridge for stashing those cheap bottles of Prosecco from the Rialto Market, which is only a 10-minute walk away via the Accademia Bridge). The beds are comfy, with those crisp linens that make you forget you’re in a 4-star spot rated 8.5 – well, except for the occasional street noise filtering up from the tourists below, but that’s Venice for you, especially in peak summer when the alleys buzz until midnight. It’s got air conditioning that actually works (a godsend in July humidity), and some apartments even have tiny balconies overlooking side canals – mine did, and watching the gondoliers glide by at dusk was pure magic, though fair warning, the Wi-Fi can be spotty if you’re on the upper floors in those historic buildings without elevators. Oh, and parking? Forget it – you’re in Venice, so arrive by vaporetto from Santa Lucia station; it’s the only way, and it adds to the charm, sort of.
All in all, if you’re the type who wants to ditch the cookie-cutter hotel vibe and actually immerse yourself in San Marco’s rhythm – you know, waking up to church bells from Santo Stefano or popping out for gelato at that hidden spot on Calle della Mandola – these apartments are a solid pick. They’re not flawless; the varying locations mean some are quieter than others, and if stairs aren’t your thing, request a ground-floor one ahead of time. But for the price, especially off-season in winter when the fog rolls in and the crowds thin out, it’s like having your own slice of La Serenissima. I’d go back in a heartbeat – just pack light and embrace the wander.

The flat is very well located, very comfortable, with all the equipments you need
What could be improved: Marco was very responsive. Our Airbnb was cancelled 2 hours before taking off for Venise. We booked via booking.com, and Marco sent us a message withing 10 minutes and within 30 minites, everything was under control. Many thanls to Marco. Any question, we got the answer.Matthew from United Kingdom – 17 October 2024 (9/10)

Great location. About 3 blocks off St Marks square. 2 minute walk. Lots of great shops and restaurants in the immediate area. 5 minute walk to Rialto bridge. Host was great at communication. Sent terrific videos re how to work tv, get in apartment, heat, trash drop off, gps to get to place. Unfortunately the gps dropped off a few times while walking with luggage within the tall tight buildings. Took far too long to get there with several turn around. Not hosts fault but maybe give a written out version on top of gps link for address. People there said google maps work better in Venice than iPhone maps. Tight spiral stairs up to 1st floor apartment were tight but doable. There couples were comfortable. Two full bathrooms with two bedrooms. One extra bedroom. The one on the street side was noisy in the morning due to shops bringing supplies in for the day. 1 couch, table and chairs, small balcony to step out on. Kitchen and kitchen island.
What could be improved: Beds felt harder at first but we did sleep well. We were asked to bring separated trash to a location with an 8 minute walk away. I’d think housekeeping would do that for host and that should not fall on the paying customer. We had very little trash so we deposited in a public square trash receptacle the last day. No shampoo or shower soap provided. Host said upon booking they could hold luggage on our last day there after check out. However, once there it was offered to leave outside front door with no security. Building shared with other apartment. He did then provide a gps link for a luggage storage area for 15 euro for the day we felt more comfortable with.Tania from Australia – 13 September 2024 (8/10)

Cardi from Australia – 13 July 2024 (9/10)
Great location and good air conditioning.
What could be improved: There was no hand soap to wash hands. Three flights of stairs was difficult with luggage. Main bed was very squeaky every time you re-positioned, causing others to wake.Yerbury from Australia – 5 July 2024 (8/10)
The location was excellent, it is walking distance to everything and very clean! The staff were extremely helpful and very accommodating!
What could be improved: The sofa bed was not adequate for a teenager, maybe under 10yo, there was no gate to the very steep stairway and the bannister on the stairs was broken and unsafe. There also was no toaster or kettle. The bunk beds were also very squeakyKari from United States – 29 June 2024 (8/10)
