Venetian Experience Overview

First Impressions

Walking through the narrow streets of Dorsoduro to find Venetian Experience feels like discovering a hidden gem — and honestly, that’s exactly what this place is. Tucked away on a quiet calle, this three-star property doesn’t scream for attention, but once you step inside, you’ll understand why couples are rating the location a near-perfect 9.6. I mean, you’re literally in one of Venice‘s most authentic neighborhoods, away from the tourist chaos but still close enough to everything that matters.

The Dorsoduro Advantage

Here’s what I love about staying in this sestiere — you get the real Venice experience without feeling like you’re constantly dodging cruise ship crowds. The Peggy Guggenheim Collection is practically around the corner, and you can walk to the Accademia Bridge in about ten minutes. What really struck me though is how this area comes alive in the evenings when locals reclaim their city. You know what’s brilliant? The property sits right in the heart of what’s considered Venice’s top-rated area, with that excellent 9.5 location score making perfect sense once you’ve spent a day here.

Sleep Quality That Actually Delivers

Let’s talk about something that can make or break a Venice trip — getting proper rest after walking on stone streets all day. The beds here are genuinely comfortable (not just hotel marketing speak), and guests consistently rave about the sleep quality. I think it’s partly because you’re on a quieter street where you won’t hear the constant echo of rolling suitcases at all hours. The room setup is thoughtfully designed too — nothing fancy, but everything works exactly as it should for a solid three-star experience.

Neighborhood Life

Dorsoduro has this wonderful mix of university students, local artisans, and longtime Venetians that gives it a completely different energy from San Marco or even Castello. You’ll find yourself grabbing morning coffee at the same bar as professors from Ca’ Foscari University, and there’s something refreshing about that authentic daily rhythm. The evening aperitivo scene around Campo Santa Margherita (just a short stroll away) is where locals actually go — not the tourist traps near the Rialto. Plus, having the Zattere waterfront so close means you can catch some of the most spectacular sunset views in the city without fighting for space.

Why Guests Love It

What keeps people coming back isn’t just the location (though that 8.6 overall rating speaks volumes) — it’s the combination of being perfectly positioned while maintaining that intimate, residential feel that’s becoming harder to find in Venice. Couples especially seem to appreciate how this spot lets them experience the city like temporary locals rather than obvious tourists. The property delivers exactly what it promises without any pretense, and sometimes that straightforward approach is exactly what you need in a city that can feel overwhelming. When you’re spending most of your time exploring anyway, having a comfortable, well-located base in an authentic neighborhood is honestly more valuable than any amount of hotel amenities.

Reviews of Venetian Experience

  • Erin from Australia – 10 March 2025 (9/10)

The host Andrea is AMAZING. We were contacted the day before via whatsapp with travel options and with intricate details of how to get to the accomodation. We were provided entry codes in advance, including photos of each step of how to get there and in. She also gave us restaurant recommendations and was highly communicative and kind. We are travelling from Australia with our 5.5month old baby, so when I messaged asking for Laundromat details I was provided detailed instructions on how to get there. Finally, I annoyed her again to ask for a later check out as we are getting the train after lunch, this was not a problem either. This level of kindness is unmeasured and I cannot say enough good things about Andrea or the accomodation. Great location, plenty of shops and restaurants around but it's not noisy. There was a great selection of snacks and drinks in the room as well as complimentary items in the bathroom, awesome little touches.

We will 100% be back here if ever we decide to come back to Venice – when the kids are older and can carry their own bags across the bridges!

What could be improved: Nothing. Everything was great!!

  • Kendall from Canada – 4 October 2024 (9/10)

The room is big and the bed is good. There is a good food option right outside.

What could be improved: The only thing I didn't like was the washroom. It close to the room. But not in the room. It is private so not really that bad. The light above the door was out so it was a little hard to see. All minor issues. Every good overall

  • Julia from Poland – 26 September 2024 (9/10)

  • Emma from United Kingdom – 20 September 2024 (9/10)

  • Ruoyu from Germany – 28 August 2024 (9/10)

Nice, affordable and neat. The owners are hospitable and helpful. We have enjoyed our stay there.

What could be improved: The bathroom is separate from the room. But it was OK for us.

  • Mariyan from Bulgaria – 22 July 2024 (9/10)

The room is very nice, big, good air-conditioner, small fridge, coffee machine, big terrace and very nice bathroom, very nice big bed. Very good location, in front of a square Santa Margarita, there are a lot of pizza and cafe, restaurants and a big super market. I have been also the previous year.

    What could be improved: Nothing!

  • Jevgenijs from Sweden – 18 July 2024 (9/10)

Very nice and unique property in perfect location. It has everything you need for a great stay. The host is very helpful. Highly recommended for value for money deal.

    What could be improved: N/A

  • Roslyn from Australia – 9 July 2024 (9/10)

Good apartment near restaurants and access to everything on foot.

What could be improved: We were fully warned and the property was very forthright about the bathroom being a seperate room but in retrospect this is not my ideal. I’m sure it wouldn’t be an issue for younger people.

  • Marcin from Poland – 16 May 2024 (8/10)

The location is amazing. It’s very easy going place. The room is cute, for people with not much expectation like us it was perfect. First of all, clean, really helpful owner, the energy is really really good. The fact of having own bathroom but outside the room is also very okay. It’s right behind the rooms doors. I would recommend this place for everyone who’s focused on exploring the city cause it’s really really good pitstop in the middle of all attractions:)
