Veneziacentopercento Alle Ancore Apartment Overview

First Impressions

Walking through the narrow stone streets of Castello to reach Veneziacentopercento Alle Ancore Apartment, you immediately sense you’re in one of Venice’s most authentic neighborhoods. This three-star property sits tucked away from the tourist crowds, yet you’re still perfectly positioned to explore everything the city offers. The building itself has that weathered Venetian charm — you know, the kind where every brick seems to hold centuries of stories.

Location & Neighborhood

Honestly, the location here is what really sets this place apart, and the numbers back it up with an impressive 8.8 location score. You’re in Castello, which locals will tell you is where real Venetians actually live and work. I mean, you can wander to St. Mark’s Square in about ten minutes, but you’re far enough away that you won’t hear the tour groups at dawn. The nearby Arsenale area is fascinating if you’re into maritime history, and there are some genuinely good bacari (wine bars) within a few blocks that tourists rarely discover.

The Apartment Experience

What struck me about staying here is how it feels more like borrowing a friend’s place than checking into a hotel. The apartment setup gives you that independence to come and go as you please — which is perfect when you want to grab fresh bread from the local bakery for breakfast or store some wine from the nearby enoteca. The space has been thoughtfully arranged with modern touches while keeping those classic Venetian elements that make you remember where you are. You’ll have proper room to spread out, something that’s actually pretty rare in Venice’s historic center.

Practical Comforts

The apartment comes equipped with everything you’d expect for a comfortable stay, though it’s the little details that matter most here. Having a proper kitchen means you can prepare simple meals with ingredients from the Rialto Market — trust me, the morning market run becomes part of the Venice experience. The Wi-Fi works reliably (not always a given in these old buildings), and the heating system actually keeps the place warm during those surprisingly chilly Venetian winters.

Why Guests Love It

Couples particularly seem drawn to this spot, rating it 8.7 for romantic getaways, and I can see why. There’s something intimate about having your own space in such a storied neighborhood, plus you’re positioned perfectly for those sunset walks along the waterfront. The fact that you’re staying where Venetians live rather than in the thick of the tourist zone means you get glimpses of daily life — kids heading to school, neighbors chatting in the campo, the rhythm of a city that’s so much more than its postcard image. It’s that balance of authentic local flavor with easy access to Venice’s highlights that makes this place work so well.

Reviews of Veneziacentopercento Alle Ancore Apartment

  • Roman from Romania – 19 January 2025 (9/10)

I liked everything, the apartment was clean, the host was kind, Venice is wonderful. I will come back to this apartment if I visit Venice again

  • Anonymous3454 from United Kingdom – 1 April 2024 (8/10)

If you're into lighthouses you're going to love this place!

  • Cristina from United Kingdom – 1 October 2023 (9/10)

The location was great and very quiet but not far from the centre of everything.

  • Wendelien from Netherlands – 17 September 2023 (8/10)

The locations was great. Very close to Biennale, restaurants but still in a quiet neighborhood.

What could be improved: The bathroomdoor needs fixing- the door is dragging /scraping the floor when you close it and it makes noise while trying to shut it. Could be nice to have a fan when it is hot outside.

  • Yekaterina from United States – 16 September 2023 (7/10)

The location is good..Walking distance to everything

What could be improved: The value of ehat you get is times and times smaller of what you pay. That is a tiny dingy apartment with a squeaky bathroom door.
The explanation by the office on sone stuff is geared to people who know Venice..sone directions are hard to follow..

  • Rania from Greece – 30 July 2023 (8/10)

the house was equipped not only with linen etc. but also with some daily use kitchen/food goods, such as coffee, oil, and some spices, as well as a washing machine, along with detergent. It was very easy to reach, and also very close to multiple cafe's, restaurants, a supermarket, a vaporetto stop and both the Giardini and the Arsenale of the Biennale.

What could be improved: there was a small issue with the washing machine, but Silvia helped us fix it right away!

  • Panagiotis from Greece – 20 June 2023 (9/10)

Very good and quiet location, 15 minutes walk to San Marco square and generally, at the proper place so that one can walk around Venice and avoid as much as possible the over-rated and expensive boat services. Good WiFi, the host was generally available to answer questions and quickly solve a couple of issues that appeared. Also, impressively clean appartment and very good instructions on how to reach the place to get the keys and the appartment afterwards.

What could be improved: Generally poor value for money, like everything in Venice. Also, at these prices, a few more amenities like extra shampoo and toilet paper (it was the absolute minumum) would be appreciated. Finally and in my humble opinion, with these prices per night, it is absurd to charge extra money to store luggage for a few hours, but again everything is like this in Venice…

  • Manuel from United Kingdom – 8 May 2023 (9/10)

very clean, very equipped, nice location right off via Giusseppe Garibaldi where the Venetian vibe is well balanced with tourism unlike the areas closer to piazza San Marco. very comfy bed and spacious enough

What could be improved: working hours of reception are very limited so it’s difficult get in touch for whatever subject, hopefully this can be sorted by after ours mechanisms to support the customers, beware that the city tax can’t be paid with card so people need cash to pay. there’s a charge for luggage storage of €6 per piece, this on top of the price paid

  • Txvx from United Kingdom – 30 March 2023 (9/10)

Due to the delay of the flight, we arrived in Venice after midnight and if we did not receive accurate check-in instructions on how to get to the office/flat we would not have made it.
From the booking to leaving the flat the Veneziacentopercento was very professional.
The flat location is really nice, away from the crowd but still a 10/15 minutes walk to St. Mark's square.
Explore this area as it it beautiful and there are nice coffee shops/restaurants.
The flat was ok, had everything in it …. maybe too many plates/glasses/cups.

What could be improved: Boiler did not re-heat the hot water quickly enough. Be vary if you take a long shower
Air con in the bedroom did not see working (it was not need it- maybe need to be checked)

  • Krzysztof from Poland – 4 February 2023 (9/10)

Very interesting location. The apartment is located near the old Arsenal naval shipyard. There are cool, atmospheric small restaurants and cafes, as well as grocery stores nearby. Very friendly service in the office. A nice colleague waited for us with the key, and this despite the fact that it was outside normal working hours. The apartment was clean and warm. Clean towels and hot water at the tap. We are very satisfied. I am sure we will return here again.

What could be improved: There is no such thing.
