Veneziacentopercento Nicoli Apartment Overview

First Impressions

Veneziacentopercento Nicoli Apartment feels like you’re being let in on a local secret when you walk through the narrow streets of Castello to find it. This three-star property sits tucked away on Campo dei Nicoli, and honestly — the location alone makes it worth considering. You know how some places just feel right the moment you arrive? This is one of those spots where you immediately understand why couples rate the location so highly.

The Castello Advantage

Here’s what I love about staying in Castello — you’re still very much in Venice, but you’ve escaped the tourist crush that hits San Marco and the Rialto area. Campo dei Nicoli gives you that authentic neighborhood feel where you’ll see locals going about their daily routines. The walk to major sights takes maybe 10-15 minutes, but you’re staying somewhere that actually feels like Venice rather than a theme park version of it. I mean, there’s something to be said for being able to step outside and not immediately bump into a tour group.

The Space Itself

The apartment setup works really well if you want more space than a typical hotel room offers. You get that sense of living in Venice rather than just visiting — there’s a kitchen if you want to grab some fresh ingredients from the local markets, which honestly can be half the fun. The place has that lived-in comfort that makes you want to linger over morning coffee instead of rushing out to tick off sightseeing boxes. It’s not fancy, but it’s genuine, and sometimes that matters more than marble bathrooms and gold fixtures.

Getting Around

What really struck me about this location is how well-connected it is without feeling touristy. You’re close enough to walk to the Arsenale if you’re into Venice’s maritime history, and the Giardini area is right there too — perfect if you need a break from all the stone and water. The vaporetto stops are easily reachable, but honestly, I found myself walking most places because the neighborhood itself is so pleasant to wander through. There’s decent parking options nearby if you’re driving in, though let’s be real — most people aren’t bringing cars to Venice.

Why Guests Love It

That 9.3 location score from couples makes perfect sense once you’ve stayed here. It’s romantic in that understated Venetian way — no grand gestures, just narrow bridges, quiet campos, and the kind of evening light that makes everything look like a painting. The 7.9 overall rating feels about right too; this isn’t a place that’s trying to wow you with amenities or service, but rather one that lets Venice itself do the talking. You’ll find a decent restaurant or two within walking distance, and there’s something satisfying about discovering your own little corner of the city rather than staying where everyone else does. If you want to feel like you’re living in Venice rather than just passing through, this works.

Exploring Venice mixes Gothic arches, artisan mask ateliers, and cicchetti crawls along shadowy rii.

Reviews of Veneziacentopercento Nicoli Apartment

  • Kate from Italy – 26 March 2025 (9/10)

Appartamento piccolo ma molto accogliente e soprattutto pulitissimo! Perfetto per un soggiorno confortevole.

What could be improved: L’unica nota negativa è il supplemento di €35 per la pulizia extra dovuta alla presenza del cane, un costo che Booking non specifica chiaramente, limitandosi a indicare genericamente che ‘potrebbe essere richiesto un supplemento’.

  • Liviana from Romania – 4 November 2024 (9/10)

The apartament is comfortable, well equiped and the most important thing in a great area(less busy, but still full of life, walking distances from the bienale, lots of great restaurants and supermarkets).

  • Jo from United Kingdom – 23 June 2024 (8/10)

Nice apartment close to shopping / bars / restaurants. Away from the main touristy area. Around 15/20mins walk to San Marco and close to 2 water bus stops. Comfy big bed. Modern bathroom and updated kitchen. Great WiFi. Quiet in the evenings. Communication with host is excellent – very responsive. We had an issue with the air con and induction hob and both fixed within 24hrs. Nice amount of space for 2 adults. The locals are also lovely, very friendly.

Try the cafe away from the main shopping street – towards Sant Elena. There are some nice trattorias as well within 5 mins.

What could be improved: No oven – but the host explained this is pending an update by booking.com. It would be helpful to have an iron. It might be a good idea to have a fan available in the apartment just incase any air con issues arise – spending a night in humidity with no fan / ac is a struggle! Or maybe some mosquito / fly nets for the windows so that they can be left open in the evening.

  • Daniel from Netherlands – 16 April 2024 (8/10)

Good location, quiet, well stocked kitchen with plenty of dishes. Good water pressure, hot water was good.

What could be improved: Bed was not the most comfortable, but I find this to be true in Italy almost everywhere, a bit of a cave, but that was expected.

  • Nicole from Australia – 17 October 2023 (8/10)

Great location to visit the Biennale and experience the local culture of Castello!
    Comfortable and well appointed facilities.

What could be improved: A bit dark during the day, and being surrounded on 3 sides by well frequented paths, it wasn’t always private or as quiet as you might like.

  • Tuzlic from Bosnia and Herzegovina – 14 September 2023 (8/10)

Very good evrithing around, good restorans, very close store, fish store, food in the boat…

  • Albijawi from United Arab Emirates – 30 October 2022 (6/10)

clean had all the required facilities

What could be improved: no warning to people that the humidity is so strong in the apartment and we were affected by that..if someone has asthma tendencies they have to be aware rhat this apartment will be harmful to them ..

  • Despoina from Greece – 1 September 2022 (7/10)

Location is great and the apartment is comfortable for two people. The staff is friendly and helpful with any questions.

What could be improved: The apartment was not very clean.

  • Ivana from North Macedonia – 7 May 2022 (8/10)

The prfect location to visit the Bienale.

  • Rene from Austria – 10 April 2022 (8/10)

Very kind support via WhatsApp. Arrived at a time, where the office was closed, so the keys were ready at a given address. The apartment is situated at a very calm place in Castello. Supermarket nearby – maybe 300m. 15 minutes to piazza San Marco and 15 minutes to Lido.

What could be improved: Nothing to complain about!
