Venice Heaven Family Apartments in San Marco Square Overview

First Impressions

When I first walked up to Venice Heaven Family Apartments in San Marco Square, I honestly couldn’t believe how close we were to everything that matters in Venice. I mean, you’re literally steps away from St. Mark’s Square — not the touristy “five-minute walk” that hotels love to claim, but actually right there. The building itself has that weathered Venetian charm you see in postcards, though it’s been thoughtfully updated inside. You know what struck me most? The fact that this four-star property manages to feel both authentic and comfortable without trying too hard.

Location Magic

Here’s the thing about staying in San Marco — most places either cost a fortune or feel like tourist traps, but this spot gets the balance right. When you step outside, you’re in the real heart of Venice, not some side canal pretending to be central. I watched couples taking evening strolls right past our building, and honestly, I get why the location scores a perfect 10 for romance. The Doge’s Palace is practically your neighbor, and those early morning moments in the square before the crowds arrive? Pure magic. Plus, you can actually hear the bells of St. Mark’s Basilica from some of the apartments.

The Apartment Experience

What I loved about our apartment was how it felt like staying in a real Venetian home rather than a sterile hotel room. The space was genuinely family-friendly — not just marketing speak — with enough room for everyone to spread out. The kitchen came in handy for simple meals (Venice restaurants can get pricey), and I appreciated having a proper fridge for storing water and snacks. The decor strikes that sweet spot between traditional Venetian style and modern comfort, though don’t expect cutting-edge design. It’s more about functionality and charm, which actually works better for families anyway.

Practical Considerations

Let me be honest about Venice logistics — there’s no parking here because, well, it’s Venice. You’ll need to leave your car at Piazzale Roma or Tronchetto and take the vaporetto, but that’s true for anywhere in the historic center. The staff was genuinely helpful with directions and recommendations, not just handing over generic tourist maps. They actually know the neighborhood and can point you toward the less obvious gems. One tip they shared saved us from a tourist-trap restaurant and led us to this incredible little osteria tucked away in a side alley.

Why Guests Love It

After staying here, I understand why this place scores so highly with visitors. It’s not trying to be the fanciest option in Venice — it’s trying to be the smartest choice for families who want to experience the city properly. You get that unbeatable location without paying premium hotel prices, plus the space and flexibility of an apartment. The combination of being steps from San Marco Square while still feeling like you’re living like a local (sort of) is pretty special. Sure, you might hear some street noise during busy periods, but that’s the trade-off for being in the absolute center of one of the world’s most beautiful cities.

  • Tracy from United States – 14 March 2025 (10/10)

This 2 bedroom apartment was in a perfect location just a block from San Marco. Immaculate apartment with all the amenities of home. Comfortable beds and new linens. Washer, dishwasher and even complimentary umbrellas and shampoos are included in the house. We enjoyed our stay very much and highly recommend this property. The rental company was easy to rent from. They corresponded well and sent pictorial directions on how to reach the apartment. They also met us at the apartment, showed us how to work the lights, stove, hot water and door codes. We will definitely be back and will recommend this place to everyone.

What could be improved: We loved everything.

  • Helen from United Kingdom – 25 February 2025 (8/10)

Great place to stay near to Piazza san Marco and a few minutes walk from the Grand Canal.

Big rooms, all very clean. We didn't't use the kitchen – only to make a coffee – but it seemed to be well-equipped. You could cook a meal there and eat in the dining area. Met by the host who gave a very detailed briefing of the apartment and the area.

What could be improved: Only thing I would say, is that there isn't a seating area – with maybe a couple of armchairs or comfy chairs. Maybe the dining area could be re-designed to accommodate a sitting area??

  • Stephen from New Zealand – 22 January 2025 (10/10)

Location, facilities, communities… A great apartment, very well situated with large rooms, well appointed. Would both return and recommend,

What could be improved: All was ok. Having to leave the keys locked to an electricity switch instead of properly locking the door

  • Irene from Philippines – 8 January 2025 (10/10)

Best location. 3minutes from Piazza San Marco. The apartment was very charming, clean and with complete amenities. We will appreciate all the little details Veronica prepared to make us feel welcome and at home. Matteo met us and explained everything to us at the start of our stay.

  • Mary from United Kingdom – 5 January 2025 (10/10)

Amazing central location yet quite and peaceful apartment. Matteo was a great host giving us tips on restaurants, which were all excellent.

  • Faiz from United Arab Emirates – 20 December 2024 (10/10)

Such a lovely apartment! Meticulously clean and cozy. We also had a super warm welcome by our lovely host Clara, and that elevated the whole experience.

What could be improved: The shower was clogging very much. We reached out to our host Clara and she tried to help. But couldnt be fixed. If that was fixed wouldve been 10/10!

There are also stairs and quite inconvenient with luggages but Clara was so lovely to help.

  • Emilie from Taiwan – 4 December 2024 (10/10)
