Venice Salute Apartments Overview
First Impressions
When I first heard about Venice Salute Apartments, I’ll admit I was a bit skeptical — apartment-style accommodations in Venice can be hit or miss. But honestly, this three-star property completely changed my perspective on staying in Dorsoduro. The moment you realize you’re in one of the most coveted neighborhoods in the city, with multiple locations scattered throughout this artistic district, you start to understand what makes this place special.
Location & Neighborhood
You know what really struck me about the Dorsoduro area? It’s where actual Venetians still live and work, not just another tourist corridor. The apartments are positioned near the Salute church (hence the name), and I mean, you’re literally steps away from some of the most Instagram-worthy spots in Venice — but without feeling like you’re trapped in a postcard. The Peggy Guggenheim Collection is practically around the corner, and getting to St. Mark’s Square is just a pleasant walk across the Accademia Bridge. What couples seem to love most — and I get it — is how you can escape the crowds here while still being central to everything.
The Apartment Experience
Each apartment feels more like staying in a Venetian friend’s place than a typical hotel room. The layouts vary since they’re spread across different historic buildings, but that’s actually part of the charm. Most units come with a compact kitchen setup — nothing fancy, but perfect for making morning coffee or storing those amazing pastries from the local bakeries. The furnishings are simple and functional, which honestly works better than trying to cram ornate Venetian décor into these intimate spaces.
Daily Life & Practical Details
Here’s something I really appreciated — the staff actually knows the neighborhood. They’ll point you toward the best bacaro for cicchetti (those little Venetian tapas) or tell you which vaporetto stop to use depending on where you’re headed. Parking isn’t really relevant here since you’re in Venice proper, but they’ll help coordinate water taxi arrivals if you’re coming from the airport with luggage. The check-in process is straightforward, though like most apartment-style places, you’ll want to communicate your arrival time in advance.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people coming back to Venice Salute Apartments is that authentic neighborhood feeling you just can’t get in the more touristy areas. You’re buying groceries where locals shop, grabbing your morning cappuccino at bars where the barista remembers regulars, and walking home through quiet campos instead of crowded thoroughfares. The location score speaks for itself — there’s something magical about being able to watch the sunset over the Grand Canal from the Salute steps, then being home in two minutes. It’s not about fancy amenities or room service; it’s about living like a temporary Venetian in one of the city’s most beautiful districts.

Reviews of Venice Salute Apartments
Bernardo from Spain – 26 March 2025 (9/10)
Location is fantastic, very quiet but just one step crossing the canal from San Marco
What could be improved: Mixing the water on the shower is tricky, but all fine otherwise.Peter from Netherlands – 29 September 2024 (7/10)
Spacious, characterful atmosphere and tastefully decorated apartment. The apartment is in a quiet neighborhood. The location was fine, close to a boarding point for the boat transport and not far from San Marco square as the crow flies.
What could be improved: The apartment has overdue maintenance, such as jammed windows and doors, leaking taps, a worn-out sofa.Rachel from Ireland – 28 September 2024 (7/10)
Quiet location
Easy to find and get around from
Lovely comfy bedEmily from Ireland – 11 June 2024 (8/10)
It was beautiful and great facilities
What could be improved: No hot waterGe from Australia – 30 April 2024 (8/10)
The location was perfect and the apartment was very cosy, especially as it was quite cool in Venice during our stay, so it was a comfort to be able to easily come back to a warm shelter. Natalia, who let us in, was lovely and she promptly helped us when we had a query. We would have no hesitation in staying here again and would seek out this apartment for future stays.
What could be improved: The bathroom water pressure is not great and the shower a little awkwardly positioned under stairs, but this is Venice and these houses are perhaps hundreds of years old, so we are grateful that so much hard work has been done to make this property such a cosy home to stay in.Jill from Ireland – 24 March 2024 (7/10)
Dorsoduro is a quiet area of Venice, ideal for art lovers with easy access to the Peggy the Guggenheim
What could be improved: There is no oven, so not ideal if you are staying longer than just a few days.Mark from Malta – 4 December 2023 (7/10)
Very Quite location and very central
What could be improved: Apartment could do with a refurbishing exercise and the wifi was not strong in all the apartment , we could use only in the BedroomPavlo from Ukraine – 24 June 2023 (8/10)
It is an absolutely beautiful and authentic gem apartment in the most unique city in the world. The location is amazing, being at a very quiet place, and at the same time pretty close to all the interesting spots in town. The host gave a very very detailed and precise information about how to get there and check in, and was very helpful.
What could be improved: Those are so minor things compared to how I liked these apartments that they don't even worth mentioning, like the missing plug in a bathtub.Tatevik from Armenia – 5 April 2023 (9/10)
it was really good equipped house. and it was beyond expectations as there are some not good comments. The apartment are located 15 – 20 minutes walk from san marco square but on the other side of canal. The heating was good. the hot water always works. It is furnished with old style furniture but for venice it is rather interesting. The only disappointment I didn’t notice 70€ + 30 € payments before booking but it worth it.
Gleb from France – 6 October 2022 (7/10)
nice location, nice and comfortable one bedroom apartment
What could be improved: big problems with hot water in the bathroom all the days of our stay.
