Appartamento Ca’ Di Nive Overview
First Impressions
Walking along the quiet Fondamenta Riello in Castello, you’d almost miss Appartamento Ca’ Di Nive if you weren’t looking for it — and honestly, that’s part of its charm. This three-star gem sits tucked away in one of Venice’s most authentic neighborhoods, far from the tourist chaos around San Marco. The moment I stepped inside, I knew this wasn’t your typical hotel experience. It’s more like staying in a Venetian friend’s beautifully restored apartment, complete with original details that remind you you’re sleeping in a piece of history.
The Castello Advantage
Here’s what I love about this location — you’re actually living like a local in Castello, which means real neighborhood bakeries, tiny wine bars where gondoliers grab their morning coffee, and narrow streets where you’ll hear more Italian than English. The area has this incredible location score of 9.6, and after spending time here, I get why. You can walk to the Biennale gardens in ten minutes, catch a vaporetto to anywhere in the city from nearby stops, but still retreat to this peaceful corner when the crowds get overwhelming. Couples especially seem to fall for this spot — they’ve rated it 9.7, and I mean, wandering these quiet fondamenta at sunset is pretty magical.
The Space Itself
The room feels authentically Venetian without being stuffy or museum-like. You’ll find thoughtful touches throughout — maybe it’s the way morning light filters through the windows, or how the furnishings blend modern comfort with traditional Venetian style. What struck me most was the attention to detail in the restoration. The owners clearly understand that travelers want comfort and character, not just a place to crash. The space manages to feel both intimate and airy, which is honestly pretty impressive given how compact most Venice accommodations tend to be.
Living the Local Life
One thing you notice staying here is how different Castello feels from the main tourist areas. In the morning, you’ll hear the calls of vendors setting up at the local market, and in the evening, the neighborhood settles into this lovely quiet rhythm. There’s a small campo nearby where kids play football while their parents chat — it’s the kind of scene that reminds you Venice is still a living city, not just a tourist destination. The walk to major sights takes a bit longer, sure, but you’ll discover corners of the city that most visitors never see.
Why Guests Love It
With a 9.5 rating, Appartamento Ca’ Di Nive clearly hits the mark for travelers seeking something beyond the standard hotel experience. It’s that rare combination of authentic location, thoughtful hospitality, and genuine character that’s getting harder to find in Venice. You’re not just booking a bed here — you’re getting a slice of real Venetian life in one of the city’s most charming neighborhoods. If you want to experience Venice the way locals do, while still having easy access to everything the city offers, this little place in Castello delivers exactly that.

Vanni was a perfect host. Communication with the host made exploring Venice much easier. We received a lot of valuable information, including recommendations about local restaurants and transportation. The area is ideal for anyone looking to escape the crowds of tourists.

It was such a beautiful cozy stat I didn't realize how big it would be because I was on my own, but it was nice. The owner was so sweet and helpful. He gave me exact directions of how to get back from my flight and a lot of recommendations in the city.
What could be improved: No complaintsAndre from United States – 2 December 2024 (9/10)
The location is incredible — just, literally 2 minute walk, you are in the bustling Via Garibaldi with supermarkets, restaurants, cafés… But the apartment's location is SUPER quiet, by a beautiful "corto". Hosts are very hands on and amiable. We had an unexpected event on our last night. But hosts responded immediately, appeared in person, and found a solution right away.
What could be improved: A larger living room table would have been nice. But kitchen is super well equipped.Michael from United Kingdom – 20 September 2024 (10/10)
Everything was perfect, nothing was too much for the hosts and even allowed me to surprise my wife. Cannot recommend this place enough if you stay in Venice. Everything is a short walk away and perfectly located.

Excellent accommodation conditions, the location is near the center (2 vaporetto stations away from San Marco) with a full Venetian atmosphere. The host is very proactive, kind and helpful with recommendations.
What could be improved: all good here…Isabelle from Canada – 10 June 2024 (10/10)
This appartement is fabulous, comfortable and close to 2 vaporetto stations. You can take vaporetto from train station and arrive to Giardini in 30 min. Going to place St-Marc in 15 min as well. It's also possible easily by walk after a good dinner to Nevodi restaurant!
The hospitality of the host is just incredibble and always happy to help and provide good recommandations.

Everything was good
Madeline from United States – 16 May 2024 (9/10)
Location! Side street on a canal. Quiet inside and out. Easy to walk to touristy, crowded areas but also easy to roam the quiet neighborhood.
Clothes washer was a big bonus!
What could be improved: Understandable but felt rushed to leave at checkout. Owners need to clean and prep for next guests but most rentals are more lenient about checking out time.Vesa from New Zealand – 11 April 2024 (10/10)
We loved everything about the property and the host was very kind and helpful. Location was very handy and oh the view when you open the door of the appartment is priceless:) totally recommend it.
