Tre Elementi, Guest House Close the Grand Canal Overview

First Impressions

Walking through the narrow streets of Cannaregio to find Tre Elementi, Guest House Close the Grand Canal, you’ll pass locals heading to work and tourists still figuring out their maps — it’s that perfect sweet spot where Venice feels authentic but accessible. The three-star property sits quietly in one of those residential pockets that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something the guidebooks missed. Honestly, the entrance is understated in that distinctly Venetian way, where the real charm reveals itself once you step inside.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re genuinely close to the Grand Canal (the name doesn’t lie), but you’re tucked away from the constant stream of day-trippers who cluster around the main attractions. Cannaregio has this wonderful rhythm where you’ll find neighborhood bakeries next to centuries-old churches, and the morning light hits the canal waters just right from the nearby bridges. The location score of 9.7 makes complete sense when you realize you can walk to the train station in about ten minutes, yet you’re also perfectly positioned to explore the quieter northern districts that most visitors never see.

The Rooms

The guest house rooms have that refined simplicity that works so well in Venice — you know, where every detail serves a purpose without feeling cluttered. What struck me most was how they’ve managed to blend modern comfort with the building’s historic character, keeping those beautiful high ceilings and original architectural details. The bathrooms are compact but well-designed (this is Venice, after all, where space is precious), and the beds are genuinely comfortable after long days of walking on stone streets. You’ll appreciate the thoughtful touches like good lighting for reading and enough outlets for your devices.

Daily Rhythms

Mornings here feel particularly special because you’re starting your day in a residential area where Venetians actually live and work. You can grab coffee at the local bar down the street — I mean the Italian kind where locals stand at the counter discussing the weather — before the tourist crowds wake up. The evening return is equally pleasant; there’s something satisfying about navigating back through the quieter campos as the city settles into its after-dinner calm. The guest house becomes this peaceful retreat where you can actually process everything you’ve seen during the day.

Why Guests Love It

Couples consistently rate this location highly (9.6 for two-person trips), and I think it’s because Tre Elementi, Guest House Close the Grand Canal offers that rare combination of accessibility and intimacy that makes Venice feel manageable rather than overwhelming. You’re close enough to everything that matters — the Grand Canal, major sights, transport links — but far enough from the chaos to remember why you fell in love with this city in the first place. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself planning your next Venice trip before you’ve even finished this one.

Reviews of Tre Elementi, Guest House Close the Grand Canal

  • Omayra from Spain – 26 March 2025 (8/10)

Check in por códigos , cercano a la estación del tren

What could be improved: La cama no era muy cómoda

  • Euon from United Kingdom – 21 October 2024 (9/10)

Good facilities, clean. Owner was quick and responsive. WiFi works well.

What could be improved: Unfortunately, there were some building works right outside our window from a neighbouring property that was quite loud especially in the mornings. Location was reasonable but we found ourselves taking the same walk into town quite often because of the layout of Venice

  • Shoshbec from Israel – 20 October 2024 (9/10)

Great location, in a quiet street just 50 meters away from many restaurants and shops and only a few minutes walk from the water buses and from the Alilaguna (boat to the airport). Spacious room and nice set-up.
Loved the lists of recommendations for places to go and see and eat!
The staff were wonderful – I got quick answers to any questions I had. It felt like home for the days I was there 🙂

What could be improved: The only thing I would suggest – is changing the door to the room I stayed in – to a non-sliding door that feels like it is better locked. Though I have to add that I still felt very safe!

  • Wei from Malaysia – 11 October 2024 (8/10)

It was very easy to find the property and location is excellent. We walked from the train station, going over 1 bridge to reach the property. Its walkable to all the main attractions and I could pop back anytime to have a (quick) rest when needed.
I like that my room is on the ground floor and do not need to lug my bags up narrow stairs. The shared kitchen is upstairs and is well equipped.

What could be improved: The shower unit is a bit small (and dark) and have no space to put my own toiletries.
    Other than that – nothing!

  • Zacharias from Greece – 24 September 2024 (9/10)

What could be improved: Το ντους δεν είχε πίεση.

  • Read from United Kingdom – 23 September 2024 (9/10)

Great location on a quiet street – about midway between the bus station and main tourist area, lots of local bars and restaurants and a decent supermarket nearby. Well equipped shared kitchen.

What could be improved: A little tricky to find when we first arrived – Venice is a maze!

  • Joop from Netherlands – 7 September 2024 (8/10)

    De lokatie was perfect !

What could be improved: Het bed was slecht

  • Robel from Germany – 30 July 2024 (9/10)

    Superkeit, die Personal

What could be improved: Die Duschkabinentür ist nicht dicht.

Spaziosa , comoda, pulita e moderna
