Here’s what I love about staying in this part of Venice — you’re close enough to everything that matters, but far enough from San Marco that you can actually breathe. The Rialto Bridge is maybe a 10-minute walk, and you can reach St. Mark’s Square in about 15 minutes on foot. But the real magic happens when you wander the opposite direction toward the Jewish Quarter or grab an evening aperitivo at one of the local bacari that tourists rarely discover. The vaporetto stop at Ca’ d’Oro is practically around the corner, so getting anywhere in the city is surprisingly easy.

The room I stayed in was larger than I expected — and trust me, space is precious in Venice. What struck me most was the attention to detail: original exposed beams, tasteful Venetian touches without going overboard on the theme, and a bathroom that actually had decent water pressure (you know how hit-or-miss that can be in historic buildings). The beds are genuinely comfortable, and there’s enough storage space that you’re not living out of your suitcase. The windows open onto a quiet courtyard, so you get that authentic Venice feel without the constant noise of water taxis and crowds.

Daily Rhythms

Mornings here feel unhurried, which is exactly what you want when you’re exploring a city that can be overwhelming. There’s a lovely little café just two doors down where locals grab their morning espresso — I mean, when you see Venetians choosing a place over the tourist spots, you know it’s good. The hotel staff is genuinely helpful with recommendations, not just the obvious ones but the kind of insider tips that make a difference. They pointed me toward a restaurant in nearby Castello that I never would have found on my own, and it ended up being one of my best meals in the city.

  A legendary apartment with a unique character, I felt as if I was staying in an Italian film. Size-wize, it is huge)) I wished my family was with me, plenty of space for 3 people. Location is a top one, 7 minutes walk from Santa Lucia railway station, close to historic center, there are a couple of good restaurants around the corner. The kitchen equipment works fine, as well as the washing machine, which was very useful.The host, Roberto, is very helpful and attentive, met me in person and gave plenty of useful recommendations. I really enjoyed my short stay (also, it was Carnival time!). I hope I could stay in this apartment again!
  
  What could be improved: Roberto warned me, that old apartments are not exactly sound-proof, so if you are sensitive to the noise, use earplugs.

  Superb apartment in a fantastic location away from the busy parts of Venice so lovely and quiet. Many lovely restaurants along the canal just around the corner. Our host Roberto was so welcoming and a treasure trove of knowledge imparting many tips on places to go. We had 4 nights but need to go back for more!

  The location was perfect for us as it was a 6 minute walk to the train station and there was a vaporetto stop nearby. The apartment is located in a quiet block of flats with a grocery store and several eateries nearby.
  
  What could be improved: We would have benefitted from written instructions on how to use the washing machine – Roberto did tell us but the different cycles confounded us! 🙂
