La Corte Incantata (alla Biennale) Overview

First Impressions

Walking into La Corte Incantata (alla Biennale) feels like discovering a secret that only locals know about. This three-star gem sits tucked away in a quiet courtyard in Castello, and honestly, you’d walk right past it if you weren’t looking for it. The entrance is understated in that perfectly Venetian way — no flashy signage, just an elegant doorway that hints at something special inside. Once you step through, you’re immediately struck by how peaceful it feels, especially considering you’re just minutes from some of Venice’s busiest attractions.

Location & Neighborhood

The Castello district is where Venice starts to feel more like a real neighborhood and less like a tourist theme park. You’re actually closer to the Biennale gardens than most hotels dare to advertise, which means easy access to both the art exhibitions and those gorgeous waterfront walks along the Riva degli Schiavoni. What I love about this spot is that you can slip away from the crowds in seconds — there are these narrow calli that lead to tiny squares where you might see actual Venetians hanging laundry or chatting with neighbors. San Marco is maybe a ten-minute walk, but it feels like a different world entirely.

The Rooms

The accommodations here strike that sweet spot between authentic Venetian character and modern comfort. You’ll find original wooden beams and traditional terrazzo floors, but also reliable Wi-Fi and air conditioning that actually works (trust me, this matters in summer). The rooms aren’t huge — this is Venice, after all — but they’re thoughtfully designed with clever storage solutions. Many overlook the internal courtyard, which means you get that coveted quiet that’s so hard to find in the city center. The bathrooms are compact but well-appointed, and I appreciated the quality toiletries and fluffy towels.

Daily Life at the Hotel

Breakfast happens in a charming room that feels more like someone’s elegant dining room than a hotel restaurant. The spread is typically Italian — excellent coffee, fresh pastries, and local specialties that change with the seasons. The staff here genuinely seem to care about your experience, offering restaurant recommendations that go beyond the obvious tourist traps. They’ll point you toward that little bacaro where locals actually drink their spritz, or suggest the best time to visit the Doge’s Palace when the crowds thin out. It’s this kind of insider knowledge that makes the difference between a good trip and a great one.

Why Guests Love It

What keeps people coming back to La Corte Incantata (alla Biennale) is how it manages to feel both authentically Venetian and genuinely welcoming. Couples particularly seem drawn to the romantic atmosphere — there’s something about those quiet courtyard views and the intimate scale that creates perfect moments. The location gets consistently high marks because you’re close enough to everything that matters, but far enough from the chaos to actually relax. You know what really seals the deal though? It’s one of those places where you can imagine living like a local, even if it’s just for a few days.

To book hotel in Venice for Carnival, travelers reserve palazzo suites overlooking mask-lined canals.

Reviews of La Corte Incantata (alla Biennale)

  • Mikus from Latvia – 15 October 2024 (9/10)

We travel to Venice often and this was definitely the best guest house we've stayed in – great location, well equipped kitchen, small patio with a table for nice breakfasts and dinners. Everything – both the Giardini Biennale and Garibaldi street with restaurants within reach. Great!

What could be improved: The only thing – a very smelly kitchen trash for no apparent reason 🙁

  • Louise from United Kingdom – 31 July 2024 (9/10)

The location for the apartment was great- very close to restaurants and little supermarkets through the little streets. It is in a quiet residential area away from the crowds, so very quiet to sleep at night. It was a 15 minute walk along the promenade to St. Mark's Square. The sunsets were lovely along the walk way at night. Our host sent us regular texts to ask how we were enjoying our stay and if there was anything we needed as well as wished a pleasant journey home. We were met at the water taxi so we didn't get lost on the way to the apartment. There was everything we needed!

What could be improved: The steps are a little steep, but just don't walk up and down them in shoes. It could have a little washing line to help dry clothes, but that's a minor point.

  • Catherine from Canada – 30 June 2024 (9/10)

Location was perfect -close to the vaporetto stop and to coffee shops and resto. Also very quiet at night.

    What could be improved: NA

  • Nicki from United Kingdom – 8 April 2024 (9/10)

Met by the keyholder who was superb, she was able to advise about the App for Vaporetto's and places to eat .
The location is really good, nice and quiet but right near the centre, so easy walking distance.
Comfortable beds and the place was very warm
    A thoroughly enjoyable stay

  • Rina from Ukraine – 14 September 2023 (9/10)

The location is amazing, variety of bars, restaurants, supermarket is very close, however the apartment itself is on the quiet street, so there is no loud noises at night
The host was very helpful and attentive and really "went an extra mile" to make the stay pleasant and comfortable.
Apartment has everything needed, the public transportantion stop just 2 min walk.

Would always love to come back again!

  • Fowler from United States – 6 May 2023 (9/10)

Quiet, comfortable and situated in the best part of Venice…

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Jf from France – 14 December 2022 (9/10)

Location. Quietness. Availability of the staff (landlord and Martina)

What could be improved: The entrance door not isolated enough from the street

  • Maxie from Germany – 7 November 2022 (9/10)

From an uncomplicated and lovely welcome to a very nice and comfortable apartment in a great area to two super friendly and helpful hosts – it was just great. If you want to feel at home in Venice, you should stay at Gian Marco's place 😉

  • Marta from Netherlands – 31 October 2022 (9/10)

Absolutely perfect location. Quiet, close to the park and Bienalle, but still 15 minutes walk from the busy centre. Also very convinient water bus connections.

What could be improved: mosquito nets in the windows would be nice

  • Sophia from United Kingdom – 24 October 2022 (9/10)

The location between Giardini & Arsenale was perfect for us… We explored a new area. It was near the Giardini vaporetto stop with great connections to Lido, the train station, Rialto… Everywhere!
The house was lovely, the decor, the courtyard, the neighbourhood. We had a great stay. Martina & Fabio met us at Giardini & escorted us to the house. They made us feel very welcome and gave us tips for local places to eat & shop. Giancarlo messaged us a kind of treasure hunt across Venice to find some hidden gems off the tourist track. We had a great stay & experienced a more authentic Venice by staying here.

What could be improved: I really can't think of anything.
