B&B Sognare A Venezia Overview
First Impressions
Walking down Salizada San Geremia in Cannaregio, you’ll spot B&B Sognare A Venezia tucked into one of those classic Venetian buildings that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled onto a movie set. The entrance is understated — no flashy signs or marble lobbies here — but honestly, that’s exactly what you want in Venice. This three-star bed and breakfast has that authentic neighborhood feel that so many hotels in the touristy areas completely miss.
The Perfect Cannaregio Location
Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re literally in one of Venice’s most livable neighborhoods, away from the cruise ship crowds but still close enough to everything that matters. The Santa Lucia train station is just a few minutes’ walk, which means no dragging your luggage over endless bridges (trust me, your back will thank you). You know what’s really nice? You can actually hear locals chatting in the morning instead of just tour groups, and there are real grocery stores and cafes nearby where Venetians actually go.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was compact but thoughtfully designed — I mean, this is Venice, so you’re not expecting a sprawling suite anyway. What struck me was how they managed to fit everything you need without it feeling cramped. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was modern enough (important detail in these old buildings). The windows open onto the neighborhood, so you get those authentic Venice sounds — church bells, footsteps on stone, the occasional gondolier calling out to tourists.
Italian Breakfast & Morning Routine
The Italian breakfast here is simple but done right — fresh pastries, good coffee, and that relaxed pace that reminds you you’re not in a rush-through-the-buffet kind of place. They serve it in a cozy common area where you’ll probably end up chatting with other guests about their Venice discoveries. Actually, the staff knows the neighborhood really well, so don’t hesitate to ask for recommendations — they pointed me toward a bacaro that I never would have found otherwise.
Why Guests Love It
Couples especially seem to get what this place is about — there’s something romantic about staying in a real Venetian neighborhood rather than right in the thick of San Marco’s chaos. The 9.5 location score makes perfect sense when you realize you can walk to the Rialto in about fifteen minutes, but you’re sleeping somewhere that feels like actual Venice. It’s that sweet spot where you’re close enough to hit all the major sights but far enough away to experience the city like locals do. Plus, the value is solid for what you get — authentic Venice accommodation without the premium you’d pay closer to the main attractions.

Very nice apartment located not far from Santa Lucia. Was a good starting point for the trips round the Venezia. Breakfast was served in the Tratoria nearby. It was served on the terrace near Canale Grande. Apartment was comfortable, although a bit tiny, but enough.

We loved our stay. It is is a very nice area surrounded by restaurants and bars. It is a very easy walk from the bus and train station and about 20 minutes walk from the Rialto Bridge. Our room was not huge but it was very clean and comfortable and we had the unexpected bonus of a kitchenette. The owners could not have been more helpful and it was lovely to have our breakfast each morning on a terrace overlooking the Grand Canal at their restaurant just a couple of minutes walk from our room. We also had dinner there and the food was very good. I would highly recommend.
What could be improved: For the middle of Venice we could not fault it but there is a very steep staircase up to the room which may be a problem for some.Kelly from United States – 25 October 2024 (9/10)
Great location, clean, nice restaurant for breakfast, friendly staff!
Hung from Australia – 10 June 2024 (9/10)
room located away from check-in at a restaurant, sizeable room, walking distance from train station, no crossing over canal with luggage, nice room, good amenities, good breakfast at canal side bistro.
What could be improved: steep tight staircase to room, tricky with luggageRaluca-simona from Romania – 30 May 2024 (9/10)
The hotel is centrally located, close to all points of interest. san marco square is about 20 minutes walk down. Delicious breakfast, with a view of the Grand Canal.
The restaurant and hotel staff are very kind. Greetings to Ionut.
The room is cleaned daily, very clean.
I recommend with confidence!

Five stars! The staff at check in at the restaurant are so friendly, helpful and clear. It was an easy process and we found the check on point and room very easily. The room is a great size, very clean and with small kitchen. It was a bit noisy at night but that is simply due to the perfect location. Very easy walk from the train and bus station. The breakfast on the deck of the restaurant was a highlight of our time in Venice, it is such a lovely spot to sit and the breakfast was generous and delicious.

Location perfect – central.
Breakfast at the pozoledo trattoria was lovely – simple continental but stunning location.
We ate here for lunch as well and the staff are all fantastic.

Great location, very nice breakfast and were able to leave bags in the restaurant after check-out which was much appreciated. A good night's sleep.
What could be improved: Only very minor downsides were a bit of ambiguity on breakfast times at check-in and the breakfast bread rolls were a bit stale (the rest of the breakfast – ham, cheese, fresh juice, coffee, croissant – was excellent though.Oana from Romania – 7 November 2023 (9/10)
The location was perfect (close to the train station), the room was clean and confortable. I particularly appreciated the fact that there were two types of pillows on the bed. The little kitchen area was very well equipped, from cutlery and pans to coffee and sugar. The check-in and check-out process was fast and the representatives were friendly.
Overall, if I ever get the chance to come back to Venice, I would definitely stay here again.
What could be improved: The breakfast was nice and filling, but a little repetitive – brie and some ham, warm croissants and fresh bread, toast, little packets of jam, butter and honey each morning. The coffee was quite nice as well.
