Boldù Terrace Overview
First Impressions
Walking through the narrow streets of Cannaregio to reach Boldù Terrace, you get that authentic Venice feeling — you know, the one where you’re actually living like a local rather than just passing through the tourist crowds. This three-star property sits in what’s honestly one of the best neighborhoods in Venice, and I mean that. The moment you step inside, there’s this immediate sense that you’ve found something special without the pretentious atmosphere that can come with some of the more expensive hotels in the city.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s the thing about Cannaregio — it’s where Venetians actually live and work, which makes all the difference. You’re close enough to San Marco and the Rialto Bridge that you can easily walk there, but far enough away that you escape the overwhelming crowds that can make Venice feel claustrophobic during peak season. I’ve stayed in different parts of Venice, and this area just feels more genuine. There are local cafes where you can grab an espresso without paying tourist prices, and the evening passeggiata along the nearby fondamenta is something you’ll actually want to do rather than feel obligated to do.
The Terrace Experience
The name says it all, really — Boldù Terrace delivers on that promise with outdoor space that’s genuinely rare in Venice. Most hotels here are so cramped into ancient buildings that you’re lucky to get a window that opens properly, but this place actually gives you room to breathe. The terrace isn’t huge, but it doesn’t need to be. It’s the kind of spot where you can sit with a glass of wine in the evening and actually process everything you’ve seen during the day, which honestly becomes necessary after walking through Venice’s sensory overload.
Practical Comfort
Look, this isn’t going to be the most luxurious place you’ve ever stayed, but that’s sort of the point. The rooms are clean and comfortable in that European way where everything serves a purpose without unnecessary frills. What I appreciated most was how quiet it gets at night — something that’s actually hard to find in Venice where sound bounces off all those stone walls and water. The staff knows the neighborhood well enough to give you directions that actually make sense, which matters more than you’d think when you’re navigating Venice’s maze-like streets.
Why Guests Love It
The location score speaks for itself — couples consistently rate this place a perfect 10, and I can see why. There’s something romantic about staying in a real Venetian neighborhood rather than right in the thick of the tourist zone, but you’re never more than a pleasant 10-minute walk from the major sights. It’s that sweet spot where you feel like you’re experiencing authentic Venice while still having easy access to everything you came to see. Plus, the value is solid for what you get — in a city where hotel prices can be absolutely brutal, Boldù Terrace offers genuine comfort without making you feel like you’re compromising on the experience.
Exploring Venice mixes Gothic arches, artisan mask ateliers, and cicchetti crawls along shadowy rii.

Camin from France – 26 July 2024 (9/10)
Janina from Germany – 12 June 2024 (8/10)
Amazing view over the Laguna, quiet surrounding. Super nice apartement in an old house, cool equipment.
What could be improved: In my opinion the terrace isn't equipped so well.. you have this amazing view over the laguna and after a busy day in Venice you may want to relax there. The space would be there, but there's only two ugly uncomfortable chairs and a tiny table. You could do something so pretty with the space and also put sunbeds out or else. It's a waste of space and everytime we sat outside and enjoyed the view we were sad that it wasn't equipped well enough :/Nolan from United States – 18 May 2024 (9/10)

Everyone was very helpful, the views were amazing and there is lots of space on the terrace!
What could be improved: We struggled to find the cutlery down itinerary note where items are located could be helpful. curtains or blinds for the big window/door would have helped with privacy too.Ulrich from Germany – 19 October 2022 (9/10)
Carmen from Germany – 29 August 2022 (9/10)
Die Lage ist sehr gut !
Wir kommen nächstes Jahr wieder !!!
Sobald wir für September buchen können.
What could be improved: Keine Beanstandungen ; )Charlee from United Kingdom – 16 April 2022 (7/10)
The view from terrace was stunning and the staff were accommodating even when we arrived slightly late. Authentic feel to the apartment and location.
What could be improved: The apartment was further away from the main centre than we expected, which meant lots of walking. However, this did give a good idea of venezian culture, away from the main tourist attractions which was nice. The apartment was okay for what we needed it for but it could do with some finishing touches to make it feel more comfortable and welcoming.
