Hotel Description
Nestled in the enchanting Cannaregio district of Venice, the 3-star Ca’ Dei Leoni offers travelers an authentic Venetian experience with modern comforts. This charming hotel, boasting a solid 8.0 rating from satisfied guests, strikes the perfect balance between traditional Venetian elegance and contemporary hospitality. Located at Cannaregio 565, Ca’ Dei Leoni sits in one of Venice’s most characterful neighborhoods, away from the overwhelming tourist crowds yet conveniently positioned to explore the city’s magnificent attractions. The Cannaregio district, known for its picturesque canals, historic buildings, and local atmosphere, provides guests with a genuine glimpse into daily Venetian life while still being within comfortable walking distance to major landmarks.
From Ca’ Dei Leoni, guests can easily explore the nearby Jewish Ghetto, the oldest in the world and a center of cultural significance with its synagogues and museums. The hotel’s strategic position also places visitors just a short stroll from the magnificent Ca’ d’Oro palace on the Grand Canal, with its stunning Gothic architecture and important art collection. For those wishing to venture further, the bustling Rialto Bridge and market are accessible by a pleasant walk through Venice’s atmospheric streets and over charming bridges, while the transportation hub of Fondamente Nove, with its vaporetto connections to Murano, Burano, and other lagoon islands, is conveniently close by. The hotel’s well-regarded 8.0 rating reflects its commitment to providing a comfortable base from which to explore the floating city. Previous guests consistently praise the property’s excellent location that balances proximity to attractions with the tranquility of a less touristed area.
Ca’ Dei Leoni embodies the distinctive charm that only a Venetian hotel can offer, with architecture that tells stories of the city’s illustrious past while providing the modern amenities today’s travelers expect. While maintaining the characteristic features of a traditional Venetian building, the hotel offers a comfortable retreat after days spent exploring Venice’s labyrinthine streets and canals. The property’s name, “House of Lions,” hints at Venice’s historic connection to the lion of St. Mark, the patron saint of the city, adding another layer of cultural significance to your stay. Whether watching the gentle activity along the canals from the hotel, venturing out to discover hidden campi (squares) and bacari (traditional wine bars) in the neighborhood, or using it as a base to explore Venice’s grand attractions like St. Mark’s Square and the Doge’s Palace, Ca’ Dei Leoni provides an authentic and well-regarded accommodation choice that captures the essence of this extraordinary floating city. For travelers seeking to experience Venice beyond the ordinary tourist path while still enjoying easy access to major sights, this charming 3-star property offers a genuine Venetian experience with the comfort and service reflected in its positive guest rating.

Victor from Australia – 18 November 2024 (8/10)
It had an authentic feel and the staff were very friendly and even offered room service to save us from having breakfast in the garden on a cold day but it was so different we decided to brave the cold like the other guests. Their english is very good and they are very helpful with information on Venice.
What could be improved: Everything was fine for us but this is not for someone wanting a glitzy modern appointments but for someone wanting a genuine historical feel.Ales from Czech Republic – 8 November 2024 (9/10)
Nice spot nor far from center
What could be improved: Nice staffDennis from Australia – 19 October 2024 (9/10)
Exceptionally helpful staff
Jennifer from United Kingdom – 19 October 2024 (8/10)
The location was perfect – a quiet peaceful corner of the city away from all the tourists. The room was comfortable and very historic. I enjoyed breakfast on the veranda every morning and the staff were very friendly with us. I highly recommend staying here.
What could be improved: The room was a little small but not a major problem. Breakfast is the same for everyone apart from the drinks, so if you like jam and croissants that's fine but apart from that there's not really much choice. Also the pigeons descend for your breakfast in the masses, I adore pigeons so this didn't bother me but it may do for other people.
