Ca’ del Pittor Apartments – Tiziano Overview
First Impressions
Walking through the narrow streets of Dorsoduro to find Ca’ del Pittor Apartments – Tiziano, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from a three-star property in Venice. But you know what? Sometimes the best surprises come in understated packages. This place sits quietly on Piscina Venier — one of those tucked-away addresses that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something locals have been keeping to themselves. The moment you step inside, you realize this isn’t just another tourist accommodation.
The Dorsoduro Advantage
Here’s the thing about staying in Dorsoduro — it’s where Venetians actually live and breathe. While tourists crowd around San Marco, you’re wandering past art studios and neighborhood cafés that haven’t changed their menus in decades. The Peggy Guggenheim Collection is practically next door, and honestly, being able to pop over there without fighting through cruise ship crowds is worth the stay alone. I mean, when couples rate the location a perfect 10, they’re not just talking about pretty canals — they’re talking about having Venice feel authentic rather than like a theme park. This neighborhood offers a genuine connection to the city’s soul.
The Apartment Experience
The apartment itself feels more like staying in a Venetian friend’s place than a typical hotel room. There’s character here — the kind you get in a centuries-old building that’s been thoughtfully updated without losing its soul. The kitchen actually works (not always a given in Venice), which means you can grab fresh ingredients from the Rialto market and cook dinner while watching the light change over the canal outside. It’s these little freedoms that make apartment-style stays so appealing, especially when you’re planning to linger in the city for more than just a quick weekend. You’ll find yourself cooking like a local.
Getting Around and Settling In
The vaporetto stops are close enough that you’re never stranded, but far enough that you’re not dealing with constant tourist foot traffic outside your window. Parking isn’t really relevant here — this is Venice, after all — but the water taxi drop-off points are manageable if you’re arriving with luggage. What I really appreciated was how the neighborhood comes alive in the evenings when day-trippers head back to their cruise ships, leaving you with that magical Venice that exists between the guidebook photos. The peaceful evenings make all the difference.
Why Guests Love It
That 9.5 rating isn’t an accident — it comes from understanding what travelers actually want from a Venice stay. You’re not paying for marble lobbies or a fancy restaurant downstairs. Instead, you’re getting an authentic slice of Venetian life in a neighborhood that feels real, with enough space to spread out and the freedom to live like a temporary local. The location score of 10 tells the whole story — sometimes being perfectly positioned is worth more than all the amenities in the world. This property delivers exactly what discerning travelers seek.

The location is great, down a side street with very little foot traffic, but just around the corner from Accademia.
What could be improved: There's no bathtub, so getting our toddler clean was a challenge.Katerina from Netherlands – 2 September 2024 (10/10)
Perfect comfort in ideal location for our visit of Venice
Very friendly host

We liked everything about the property: new, clean, lots of light, everything working, all the kitchen ustensiles and glassware needed.
Lorella was very kind and helpful sharing with us places to visit, eat and do groceries. We enjoyed our stay in this apartment and will recommend it warmly to others.
What could be improved: Not the two bedrooms have the same pillows to sleep on. My two daughters didn’t have the thinner thermo shaped we had. Theirs were inconfortable. It would be nice that the second bed room has the same pillows too.Kathleen from United States – 15 July 2024 (10/10)
Everything! Wonderful stay in the clean, bright and fresh and charming apartment. Great location and Lorella is a fabulous host who patiently answered questions and offered insights which made our stay so much more fun.
Branislav from Serbia – 13 May 2024 (10/10)
The apartment is located in a beautiful building which has been, with respect to the rich cultural heritage, carefully renovated. The apartment is bright and very tastefully decorated with a refined sense for details. The location of the accommodation is fantastic. We were warmly welcomed. Our hostesses Lorella and her daughter Silvia welcomed us as if we had always known each other. Upon arrival, we received excellent recommendations for visiting sights that are not on standard tourist routes and for which we are very grateful. We had a great time.

Due to the early fight, Lorella came to the apartment and waited for our arrival.
She introduced me a lot about the apartment and environments around.

Lovely clean apartment. The location was perfect so we explored all the places from there .There is public water bus station within 3-4 mins walking distance. Its great for families. Lauren and Silvia , both were so helpful and provided information about transport, venice history and recommended best places to visit. The apartment is modern and immaculate on a great quite location. We felt completely safe and enjoyed our stay. We will definitely come back !! There are plenty of restaurants and a grocery shop within walking distance.

We had a wonderful stay in this brilliantly located apartment. The apartment has everything you need for a perfect stay, the kitchen is fully equipped for a family of five, it is freshly renovated, and in prime location (walking time to San Marco is 15 Minutes, the bridge where you can watch the perfect sun rise over Santa Maria della Salute just round the corner). Lorella and Silvia are lovely and make sure you can make the best out of your stay in Venice.
Eva from Germany – 31 August 2022 (10/10)
The location of the apartment is excellent: close to everything you want to see in Venice, but on a quiet street with no tourist crowds. There are two Vaporetto stops within 2 minute walk from the apartment which makes getting around Venice very easy.
The apartment is very nice, newly renovated, comfortable, and super clean. We were six of us, 3 adults and 3 kids and it was still enough place for everybody. The kitchen is well-equipped, with everything you may need for cooking and eating. The rooms are spacious, with large windows, full of light. The beds are comfortable, I would just appreciate bit better pillows. There were enough bedsheets and towels for everybody.
The host family was very nice and helpful. They gave us a good explanation of where to park in Venice and how to get to the apartment and they waited for us in the apartment upon arrival. They reacted quickly to all our questions or needs.Styliani from Greece – 19 April 2022 (10/10)
The apartment was great! Clean, spacious, comfortable beds, with the most convenient location you could find in Venice. Silvia was very helpful and made our stay easier. Would definitely go back again!
