Cà Gamba by Venicevillas, Guglie Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Cà Gamba by Venicevillas, Guglie along the Fondamenta Cannaregio, you immediately sense you’ve found something special. This three-star property sits right in what locals consider one of Venice’s most authentic neighborhoods — and honestly, the moment you step inside, you understand why it scores so highly with guests. The building itself has that perfect Venetian charm without feeling overly touristy, which is actually harder to find than you’d think in this city.

Location & Neighborhood

The Cannaregio district is where Venice really shows its true colors, and this spot puts you right in the heart of it all. You’re close enough to the major sights that you won’t spend your entire day walking (or getting lost in those maze-like streets), but far enough from the crowds that you can actually breathe. I mean, couples absolutely love this area — they rate the location nearly perfect for romantic getaways, and you’ll see why when you’re strolling along the nearby canals in the evening. The Guglie bridge is practically at your doorstep, and there’s something magical about having that iconic Venetian scene as part of your daily routine.

The Accommodation Experience

What strikes you about staying here is how the property manages to feel both authentically Venetian and genuinely comfortable. The rooms have character — you know, the kind of details that make you feel like you’re living in Venice rather than just visiting it. Everything feels thoughtfully arranged, and while it’s not trying to be something it’s not, the quality is consistently solid throughout. You’ll find yourself appreciating the little touches that show someone actually cares about the guest experience, which honestly can be hit-or-miss in Venice’s accommodation scene.

Daily Life & Practical Matters

One thing that really works in your favor here is how the location makes daily life in Venice so much easier. You’re positioned where you can easily walk to restaurants that locals actually frequent — not just the tourist traps near San Marco. The nearby streets have those essential little shops where you can grab water, snacks, or whatever you forgot to pack. And if you’re planning day trips to the islands or need to catch transport, you’re well-positioned without being right in the chaos of the main thoroughfares.

Why Guests Love It

The combination of authentic location and solid hospitality really sets Cà Gamba by Venicevillas, Guglie apart from the typical Venice accommodation experience. Guests consistently praise how the property delivers on the promise of experiencing real Venetian life while maintaining the comfort level you need for a proper vacation. It’s that sweet spot where you get the romance and charm of staying in a historic neighborhood, but you’re not sacrificing practicality or quality. When you consider that this area scores among the highest in all of Venice for location, and couples rate their experience here so highly, you start to understand why this place has developed such a strong reputation among travelers who want Venice to feel magical rather than just crowded.

Reviews of Cà Gamba by Venicevillas, Guglie

  • Susith from United States – 26 November 2024 (9/10)

Location was very good. Very clean apartment and responsive host.

What could be improved: Booking.com portal did not present the pricing clearly so ended up paying extra Euro 100 for one night stay. The company didn't help with sorting out the issue. That was the only issue.

  • Oyin from United Kingdom – 23 August 2024 (9/10)

The apartment was nice and clean. Natural light lit it in the early mornings and in the evenings. It has all the amenities you need to feel at home. Owners were friendly and ready to help, will definitely consider coming back.

What could be improved: We had a blackout on the first night, but it was a general thing in the neighborhood nothing to do with the house itself. We also had issues with the internet coming and going but the last day it fixed itself.

  • Anita from United Kingdom – 22 August 2024 (9/10)

The hotel was super close to basically everything. Everything was within an hours walking distance, with some attractions even being as close as a 15 mins walk away. The train station was also a 10 mins walk away with the watertaxi station being 1 minute down the road. This is the same watertaxi station you can take to get to the airport too! So it's a very very convenient location. There were lots of restaurants nearby too so it was such a vibe being able to just get ready in the evening and then taking a nice stroll in the area to pick a place to eat for dinner. The supermarket was also about a 5-10 mins walk away too (Despar and the coop). There is a water fountain right outside the hotel so we could stock up on water.
Do not arrive before 3pm because you will not be able to get into your hotel room before the check-in time stated (for us it was 3pm).

What could be improved: Our hotel particularly did not have ac. It had two fans but just no ac. Considering we went in peak august time when the weather was 35 degrees celsius and hotter, we would feel very hot and stuffy when coming back to the hotel after a very long day out in the sun. If the hotel had ac, then it would've been a 10/10 experience. But apart from that, everything else was perfect

  • Anastasiia from France – 10 August 2024 (9/10)

Very well situated, nice appartment and nice staff. Well done

  • Jungeum from South Korea – 7 July 2024 (9/10)

Laundry machine and drying rack. A lot of windows and a very cozy environment. Just perfect

  • Artur from Poland – 6 October 2023 (9/10)

    Clean apartment
    Best lokalization

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Joseph from United States – 20 September 2023 (9/10)

Breakfast was fantastic! The host set the table every morning and provided a delicious spread of cornettos and cappuccinos as well as bread, toast, and breakfast cereal!

What could be improved: The location was a bit farther than would have been ideal, but you have the opportunity to walk through some wonderful small streets and experience life outside of the busy Duomo area and city center!

  • Masa from Croatia – 25 June 2023 (9/10)

Great appartament in a very lively part of the town. Near to the main station, 20 minutes walk to the Ponte Rialto. We we walking on foot all around. The vaporetto station is in front of the appartament. Keys were waiting for us in the key box, so we did not have to wait for the landlord or anybody. We arranged everything per Whatsup and were in contact with the host, whatever we needed. We got all the instruction and there was no problem at all. The appartament is very cute and has everything you need. Two nice rooms, very nice bathroom and kitchen with the eating table.

What could be improved: It does not have a washing machine – which we did not need, but just for the information. It also does not have an air condition, but it is in an old building, so when you open all the windows, it is o.k. and not hot.

  • Cindy from United States – 19 June 2023 (9/10)

Someone greeted us to explain the workings of the apartment appliances, including the plugs to help combat mosquitoes at night.

What could be improved: Screens on the front windows.

  • Deborah from United States – 20 November 2022 (9/10)

We really liked how cute the place was and the location
It was clean and the bed and sofa-bed were comfortable. Luca met us and gave us the keys. He was very nice and knowledgeable about locations. We enjoyed our stay. There is a water bus stop right by the apartment. It was very convenient to get back to the train station, especially because I had a broken foot.

What could be improved: Cleaning fee of €90 seems high with the amount of cleaning required prior to check out.
